You mean the IR video feed from the missile? That's kinda covered by "IR". As for the blackbird, I guess we'll just have to see.

It wouldn't bother me either way, honestly. The main reason I use Ghost in MW2 is to avoid drawing fire from killstreaks - in Black Ops, that's likely to be a lot less of an issue (no harriers, no predators, and no pave lows, for instance). And considering that killstreaks don't stack anymore, SR-71s aren't going to be popping up left and right.

Flak Jacket's retarded character model may be enough to keep me from using that perk very often. Just sayin.
Also, I don't really think I like that people using shotguns don't have a character model to give them away... I really liked that.

When was there a character model giving away shotgun users, CoD4?

COD4 and WaW. Depending on the side, the Shotgun user had an RPG on his back (regardless of whether or not he had one equipped) or a large backpack (the OpFor had a backpack with rockets sticking out of it).
The shotgun guys in WaW were identical to those who had an LMG, usually a guy with a bare minimum in worn gear and a helmet.

I thought the Flak jacket model looked kind of cool. I actually like how you can't know what primary someone is using now. There will still be tendencies of course, the lightweight raghead guy is likely to have a sub, etc.
Also, I'm positive WaW had a distinctive shotgun character model. It wasn't just the same as the LMG guys. I was just playing it again today. I'm not sure about the other factions, but I know the Japanese side's LMG guy is a dude in dark brown clothes who looks more mexican than asian, and he has really short hair. The Japanese shotgunner has the same uniform of an SMG guy, except he has those cloths hanging from the helmet.

If MW2 was a killstreak system with some first person shooting attached, we can imagine CoD Black as an FPS with some killstreak elements attached. When killstreaks aren't cumulative and the kind of air support you fire and forget is limited to the attack helicopter and dogs it will take aggressive planning to reach level ten to unlock the killstreaks much less advance quickly and maximize experience. The challenge: reach level ten in sixty minutes. The method: improvise and complete challenges. Lets estimate levels 1-5 require ~5,000 exp and 6-10 ~20,000. A single kill is worth 100 experience, buzzkill adds 100 while revenge, avenger, and many others, particularly objective game bonuses, adds fifty each. If the default kill streaks are UAV, care package and attack heli, their respective experience values should be 100, 150 and 200 but remember killstreaks don't reward more than 100 exp/kill and can't benefit from revenge and buzzkill bonuses. Of the starting builds, the SMG class strikes me as the most competitive one--what it lacks in performance it makes up for in mobility. There is an M16 option but its perks are not conducive to rapid advancement. Once you reach level five, you will have access to create a class and more importantly, challenges. There are 15 perks each with three perk challenges, with each individual challenge completion worth 2,000 exp. At level five, ten completed perk challenges (out of the pool of 45 total perk challenges) would yield exactly 20,000 experience and put us at or over level 10. At level five you should have ~6500 CP. Buy Ninja, Warlord and Ghost, and the remaining currency to buy two attachments for your favorite weapon: RDS and silencer. Since you earn 1,000 CP every level and 2,500 at periodic intervals, you should spend aggressively and take advantage of the new challenge system. The goal is to have as much attachment and perk overlap as possible to make every kill a small step toward a broader set of goals reflected in these challenges: Kill 20 enemies while their spy plane or blackbird is up (+200, +2000) Get 25 frag or semtex kills (+250, +2000) Get 150 kills using guns with two attachments (+1500, +2000, +2500) Get 150 kills using the suppressor attachment ( +2000, +2500 for the basic silencer use challenge ) Previously challenge categories were restricted by level and defined very narrowly. Now it seems there is a uniform system that rewards virtually any kill or use activity at frequent intervals including assists, kills on flashed & stunned players, kills with a UAV active and even for one hour played. For example earning 5 kills with dual attachment weapon will reward you three times; for 5 kills with that specific weapon (+250) and credit for each attachment as well (+500). You will even be rewarded a fourth time for incremental headshots. In the above, if you consistently used semtex for 25 kills you would earn +250 total (10*25), on top of the bonuses for incremental kills +1000 (250+250+500) and finally +2000 for completing one of the criteria for Warlord Pro. There is a pattern that can help you quickly decide how to maximize your experience gain, presumably these are unchanged in the final version: Kills ~ Xp 5 ~ 250 10 ~ 250 25 ~ 500 50 ~ 500 75 ~ 1000 100 ~ 2500 150 ~ 2500 I suspect there are some other increments that are unique to killstreaks or more esoteric equipment as I've seen 15 UAVs reward 500 and 30 Chopper Gunner kills reward 10,000 exp among others not in the listed progression. Before you use the aforementioned build, switch to the M16 prebuild, it has Scavenger and earning a 2 kill streak will yield an easy +2000 toward Scav pro. Find a moderate height and jump off to sustain some fall damage, +250 (Hard Landing), finally find a height you cannot survive and fall to your death, +250 (Law of Gravity). If you are interested in something different, you could consider Ninja, Steady Aim and Lightweight to take advantage of the new bonuses: +50 for backstabs and +50 for ballistic knife kills. You are at the mercy of the level requirement for the ballistic knife to some extent and all the attendant problems that come with a knife build with some luck and guile you should still be competitive with access to many relatively simple challenges: Melee 2 enemies consecutively 3 times Get 100 kills after sprinting Get 15 backstabber medals Escape death 5 times after being shot Get 15 melee kills

most of the SMG's suck. The lack of ammo and wild recoil at range make them completely ineffective.
ak74u for the win tho. it still romps the MP5 because the mp5 goes everywhere, while the 74u mostly just goes upwards. =D you can actually get 5 bullets to hit a target at medium long range with the 74u =)

It's a good thing SMGs can't snipe though IMO, it seems like every class is going to suit it's actual purpose on BO.

It appears that the M16 is a 4-5 hit kill.
At around 3:05, you hear 5 hits. That was at close-medium range..

He definitely lands 3 shots and at that range I'd expect a kill. This could just be lag though because Toys seems to have tested it at M16 3-3-4 for hits to kill.

It looked to me like the guy he hit was going into last stand. It's possible there is still an invulnerability period but one that is very short? Another player also ran right in front of his sights so those bullets might have tagged him as well.

You know, the most balanced approach for a burst gun in CoD, ever, is 33 damage max.
Requires 1 burst + another hit. The burst fire has better accuracy overall (low recoil), and if someone is hurt, 1 burst can kill him.

To piggyback off of that, which AR fires fastest? I can't decide between the AUG and FAMAS based on gameplay videos, but I'm leaning toward the FAMAS.

And as a further followup, Toys, which AR is the most accurate at the most extreme ranges? Are there any bullet-hoses/lasers? Does the G11 burst start to spread at extreme distances like the MW2 FAMAS/M16 did, making it useless for extreme ranges?
