IMO Halo 2 OST "Impend" & "In Amber Clad", and Halo CE "Under the cover of night" make for some epic clutch music. I have quite a few faves from CoD:MW2's OST; especially Wolverines, Evacuation Crash Site, White House Battle, and Exodus. Black Ops "Pentagon" and World at War "The Final Push" are also also pretty stand-out. Deus Ex: Icarus, Crysis 2: Insertion... I've never even played these games before but these are pretty good Doom 3's theme song is simply badass, so is the Godfather Theme by Slash Portal OST- Still Alive and Portal 2 Want You Gone are definitely going down in history Song of Storms (Ephixa dubstep remix) Need for Speed Underground: The Only, Broken Promises, & And the Hero Will Drown. Rarely lost a race when these tracks were going. Finally Borderlands "Ain't No Rest For the Wicked"... that song is catchy.

"Ain't No Rest For the Wicked" is a cool song, but I'm not sure it counts as an OST being a license. I don't think the song was produced for the game it-self. Though I could be wrong.

Bastion OST: Awesome. Listen to some of it, and feel the need to buy one of the best story telling games I've played in a long time. Assassin's Creed: The entire series has some great music. Listen to previews on Amazon or iTunes, or Youtube the whole thing. Castlevania HD: Remixes of great hits from the entire series. Youtube. There's loads of stuff I have, and I'm always on the look out for new things.

Every Megaman game has a really solid OST behind it.

Sonic Adventure has one of my favorite OSTs of all time. I'm not sure Brawl counts because it's basically a big mash-up of a bunch of the best music from all Nintendo games with only a small portion being remixes. That said, it's still one of my favorites for that exact reason. I second the Bastion OST, that doo-doo was great. Super Meat Boy, ARES: Extinction Agenda, Braid, and Jamestown are some Indie titles with good OSTs, and are also fantabulous games themselves, I highly suggest checking them out. Tower of Heaven has the best OST I've ever heard from a flash game. The game ain't bad either. Painkiller has beast heavy metal, if you like that genre. A console JRPG I've been playing recently called Eternal Sonata has a gorgeous OST, but it's made entirely of orchestral music, which I like but I'm not sure about you guys. Also, I feel like I should mention the Indie Game Music Charity Bundle. It's a lot like the Humble Indie, if you've heard of it, but this one is a bundle of music instead of games. The last bundle that ended about a month ago had over 30 albums of music, which were all DRM-free. You could donate any amount of money and get all of the music, with all donations going to Child's Play (look it up if you haven't heard of it). Unfortunately there isn't one going on right now but you might wanna keep your eyes peeled for the next one. Here's the link: www.gamemusicbundle.com/Woo 200th post

Awesome link, Donkey Kong Country -Crimzonwolf777 especially--I can't believe I still remember so many of these terrible games like KKND, Dominion and Blast Corps either. And that Jet's n Guns theme. It seems a little counter-intuitive that the FPS genre that is supposed to be the most urgent also has the most forgettable scores, with the exception of Metroid Prime maybe. BF3 or ME2 may have nice themes for example but the music is largely an afterthought. The original Total Annihilation is still the most memorable and ambitious score to my mind. It peaked in intensity during high action and was never distracting or too esoteric--it felt natural, not many games have been able to achieve those goals even as storage technology has given studios more room and budgets have multiplied several fold. Also, ask me about Dynamite Heady.

music.biggiantcircles.com/album/legacywww.biggiantcircles.com/legacy/Legacy. Turns out, Jimmy Hinson has just released an album recently which is loads of unused stuff from Mass Effect 2. Fans of the series will recognize where all the parts from "Shepard of the Galaxy" were used, but there's a lot of decent things in the album too. Get yo' space opera on.

Pretty much anything by Nobuo Uematsu.
Final Fantasy VII (One Winged Angel, Aeris's Theme, and J.E.N.O.V.A are my favorite):
Aeris's Theme
Chrono Trigger (Yearnings of the Wind and Time's Scar my favorites)
Hour and a half Nobuo Uematsu Tribute Concert
Other fun stuff:
Legend of Zelda
Pokemon

Anything by the Minibosses is pretty sweet, but the Megaman 2 Medley is the bees knees.

Not sure what kind of music you are looking for, but games that came to mind were Goldeneye 007 for N64, BF 2142, and SimCity 4.
