I preordered it the day after the Vault Chest edition was available. Based on what my friends pick I will be either Axton or Salvador. Seems like everybody wants to be Zero but me.
I really hope they release all four characters from Borderlands the First as DLC because I will miss Berserking 'til the cows come home.

I really hope they release all four characters from Borderlands the First as DLC because I will miss Berserking 'til the cows come home. Since they're already in the game as NPCs and most of the new guys have basically cooler upgraded versions of BL1 skills, I doubt it. I'd rather any new characters they plan on implementing be unique and interesting to play rather than retreads. I'm really gonna miss Brick's enthusiasm for bloodshed, though. I'm probably gonna play Maya with my older sister, Zero with my younger sister, and the Gunzerker solo. I guess if any bros are gonna play it on Xbox I could have somewhere to throw Axton.

I'm more psyched about BL2 than about any game in recent memory. I'll be playing Axton. The skill calculators are up at borderlands2.com. I'm having difficulty deciding whether I want the nuke turret or the gemini turret I'll be duoing with my buddy who'll probably be playing Zer0.

Holey Moley i totally forgot i made this....
Ill definitely be playing Salvador, as he seems pretty fun. I think my friend will play Zer0, as he seems like the most flashy and he loves sniping... Edit : For my build, I think Brawn and Rampage (0/19/26) is the way to go. Never die, Gunzerk Forever.
I'm also crazy excited for this game, cant even really seem to enjoy Guild Wars 2 but this game seems really fun.
Also, i played BL1 on console and i heard the PC port was pretty bad. I heard they fixed all the bs for BL2, what do you guys think about BL2 on console vs PC?

If you're on Xbox I've still got an Axton that needs to be used somewhere, and I'd love to have more bros to play with. Also you guys totally ruined my arbitrary "1 week until NA release" bump. Shame on you.

Also you guys totally ruined my arbitrary "1 week until NA release" bump. Shame on you. Xbox and PC You should send a friendo (GT: Diffinity) and we'll play sometime. I probably wouldn't be able to do any online playthroughs right after release since I've got school, as well as like three other people at my house that want to play as well (and only one console).

I'm definitely going with Maya first. There were quite a few instances in BL1 where not having a good elemental weapon turned an average firefight into a war of attrition. Most bosses, Alpha Skags, Badasses, the Lance, and turrets are some common examples of this. However, the tables turned once you had those elemental weapons; you could just melt their health bars away. I sure hope they put more legendary shock weapons in BL2 like the Orion. Come to think of it the Orion was the ONLY legendary weapon that fired electric rounds in BL1.

In my opinion playing by yourself isn't the worst thing in the world. You get all the loot, you don't have to worry about supporting the team, or pitching in enough. The only downside is that the enemies aren't that challenging. However, I'd rather play solo than play with random players. Usually they don't communicate, they rarely share weapons, they seldom stick with other players, or even use class mods that benefit the team. There's always that chance someone 3+ levels over will come and hog all the kills and loot. There's always that chance someone 3+ levels under will come, increase the health of all the AIs, and in the end just can't pull his weight. That being said you get none of that playing with friends and the game couldn't be better that way.

I duo'd the entire BL1 with my buddy. I thought the game was horrendous solo, but that's probably because it was soooooooo freakin' amazing duo'd .

While we're on the topic of Borderlands 2: I wonder if the "We are coming" bit is a reference to Heavy Weapons guy from TF2 where he says "I'm coming for you". www.hark.com/clips/scvzmzbdmq-im-coming-for-you-heavyThen again, that could also just be me and/or the aliens watching me being paranoid.

I'm more psyched about BL2 than about any game in recent memory. This. I just came over here from the CoD board to make this topic, only to see that it on top of the page already. Nice. I'm probably going to play Zer0 to start out, though I'm sure there will be an army of them. His skill trees are just... beautiful. I'm really exited to see how some of them are implemented. Only two skills in the bottom of the sniper tree are restricted to snipers in the descriptions, and the B0re skill is not one of them. Massive critical damage percentage? Doubled (B0re)? Potentially doubled again (Tw0 Fang)? Maybe hopefully apply critical damage percentage again on the enemies behind the first on top of that? With an AR? That's some serious Foxtrotting DPS that people are going to miss out on just to have fun with a sword (which, admittedly, does look pretty fun).

Played BL1 using the soldier class. Not sure what to pick this time around.
I think BL1 is my favorite Xbox game I've played (out of 50 or so I've tried).
Oh- and 99% of my BL1 play was solo as all my coworkers are mostly just 24/7 COD.

I played Roland solo in BL (fuck the turret, I love mah shotty), Brick with the girlfriend, and Roland again with my homie. (Gotta love da shotty)
Probably gonna play Zer0 solo, Axton with the girlfriend, and Maya with my homie this time (Salvador's skill tree looks plain shitty)

I think Maya's skill tree is somewhat unimpressive, but maybe I'm just comparing it to Lilith's and how it doesn't have anything as powerful as Mind Games.

From what I've seen online Salvador works well as tank for endgame raid bosses. He and Maya make sense for party play, but Zer0 and Axton's skill trees look much better for solo/pair play. It's really going to depend on the game, though. Lots of people that have the game already are saying some of the fighting is a lot more dense than it was in the first game, so damage sponge/taunt abilities might end up being better than we think.

Does anyone else not think it'd be fun to stack 4 Axtons with 2 turrets each?

Not as fun as it will be when the DLC increases the level cap so you can get 2 turrets and nuke.

People all over the internet are getting hot and heavy over Zer0... I was expecting a shiload of Maya fans, given that the Siren was THE class to play in BL1...

Well, Zer0 basically has the old Siren's Phasewalk except now it comes with a cool ninja sword and ninja mystery and ninja vanish ninja ninja kawaii awesome. Maya's just some nerd with psychic groping stuff.

And she still has boosts to elemental damage, I think, which was basically the main source of endgame damage.

Zero's skillset seems to lean pretty heavily on solo skills, great for those "co-op" players that don't really care for the parts where teammates are involved.
