Have any of you guys noticed that the game is tinted? There's some color correction on all of the maps; sometimes it's a different color.
I think this is the reason MW3 feels much greyer than MW2 and Black Ops.

And on Outpost/Downturn in a Reaper/AC-130, he wears some awful blue glasses with ~0% visibility >_>

I hate MW3's color palette. Everything is either a) green, or b) grey. Even Terminal, one of the most colorful maps, looks dull and retarded in MW3.

Every game does this. It is designed to add to the scenery. If it's a snow level, you make it bluer, if it's supposed to be hot, it should be more orangey, and in dark forests/rainy areas it might be slightly more green.
No surprise really that it's obvious here as well.

Doesn't change the fact that it looks much better in the prior games. CoD4 looks greyer though.

Saddest thing though is that the tinting likely makes it look worse and makes it run worse.
Graphic injection modifications of BF3 on PC for example get rid of things like the scenery tint, the vignette and some other useless if not outright detrimental post processing. Disabling those things not only makes the game look nicer, but also gives it a far better frame rate.
Though surely a much more simple implementation of the tinting effect in the engine for COD, it still probably negatively impacts the game's performance slightly.

Developers need to stop putting so much emphasis on post-processing elements to make the game look better. They're at the stage that they're not developed enough to look as good as in movies, they are a definite waste of performance because they usually look like crap. My least favourite is the distance blur, having it so everything in the distance is blurry as shit and impossible to see anything makes me wonder "Who sees this and thinks that this makes the game look much nicer?" Bloom is also pretty annoying too, having everything glow wildly and destroy your eyes

The term you're looking for is "color correction" and it is very annoying.

edit: so i overclocked it to 900 mhz, but then the gpu blew out. even at those fast clock speeds the frames were stuck at 30 fps in bf3. weird. Framerate is fixed in most console games as to prevent tearing. While variable VSYNC is something good, fixed framerates are a symptom of consolitis which may lead to shit like this.

just kidding around about the console stuff. isnt old school v-sync a thing of the past with new gpu software? adaptive v-sync i believe. havent tried it myself. I think A-Vsync is a nice step forward but its still not perfect. And isnt that nVidia only? The Xbawks uses an ATi/AMD GPU IIRC.

Whaaaaat. The Shipment on the right looks so beautiful! The left one definitely gives that 'war-torn' atmosphere but the right one is just (oh God, I'm going to use this word) gorgeous! I will happily express 'feminine' remarks for map as stunning as that!
