Hey. I played two diplomacy matches last night. One was with a rad all-elf elf deck that's pretty insane, still didn't win because Chizzo had this planeswalker that wiped the board just before Matt was to deal about 4000+ in alpha strike damage to everyone but me. He then proceeded to have a 21 damage planeswalker as the only permanent and allied with the birthday boy Geoff who would otherwise exile his walker. Matt decked himself because he got that 4000+ by drawing all his elves and giving them massive buffs, Corey and Wes weren't entirely relevant. Matt had elves, so I was gaining mondo life off of his elfs + mine and Wellwisher, and Corey/Wes had about three elves. It was a climactic turn, but we knew it was coming ever since Chizzo got the one good card out. I had a power lead early on where I could have wiped out anyone but I was being Switzerland or whatever while helping Matt who was also roleplaying as the peace-loving hippy elves.
We then played a second game starting at 1 AM where I had my chump colorless deck (gosh darn couldn't get an Urza's Mine.) and got rekt along with Geoff and Wes who were screwed anyways, where Geoff took an early turn making Corey's Sliver deck attack each turn if able. It didn't last long because Matt and Chizzo had beefy decks and teamed with Corey and won right quick.
Magic is fun. Now, if only I would stop being a chump.

In every picture of Karn that I've seen; he looks like he needs to take a dump badly.
EDIT, also Spellslingers Season 2 is up! Woohoo!

-If exalted creatures gained their +1/+1 bonus for defending they could be more viable; when the whole fleet starts carpet-bombing the opponent an exalted creature can stay behind and look after the fort. Bushido. It's called Bushido. It's described as a +N/+N bonus, the creature doesn't need to attack or defend alone, and it seems prevalent on red and white creatures. EDIT: Also, who thought this was a good idea?!

This logistically makes no sense. Whoa! Big-ass spider's out to blow everyone out the hole! What should we do? I know! We'll Arrest it! Let's get 4 pairs of extra-large handcuffs and hopefully the Simic can provide giant horses to haul it away.

Anyone keeping up with the Khans of Tarkir? The focus is 5 tri-coloured clans. Sure we've heard of the Grixis, Jund, Bant, Naya and Esper- but what about the five other combos nobody really cares about? ███ Ceta is now Temur ███ Raka is now Jeskai ███ Dega is now Mardu ███ Ana is now Sultai ███ Necra is now Abzan MTG Spoiler shows some of the cards that will be featured in the new expansion. Check out the trailer; it just went up a few hours ago.

What are wedge, arc, enemy and ally colour pairs? Now you know. And yes I know I've posted 7 times in a row here; /r/magictcg isn't exactly my favourite place on the internet ATM.

Wait, are there abilities out there that prevent your mana pool from resetting between turns? Good god.

Going back to Clans of Tarkir, there are some pretty interesting colour-combo-specific abilities going down:
Abzan have Outlast. Pay some mana, tap the creature, and get a +1/+1 counter on that creature. This has been an ability on several black creatures but never got its own keyword. IMO This sounds pretty useful if a standoff situation ever happened. Jeskai have Prowess. Whenever that creature attacks and you cast a noncreature spell that creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn. This kind of sounds useless, but maybe it was balanced around the idea that the defending player is going to keep having the rug slipping out from underneath them against a Jeskai deck, so everything pans out. Sultai gets Delve; where you can pay for spells by exiling cards in your graveyard. This might come in handy with golgari/dimir zombie setups where you can throw out all the cards you don't want for mana- maybe. Mardu get Raid. Whenever a creature attacks the ability triggers (i.e. you get to put a 1/1 creature token w/ haste onto the field) Temur get Ferocious, and that triggers when you control a creature with power 4+.
A new mechanic that goes across the boards is Morph, and there is no doubt in my mind that the guy who designed this only used basic lands in his tri/quad/omni-coloured decks. You can cast any morph card for 3 mana face-down as a 2/2 creature. That's pretty expensive for a 2/2 with nothing, but then you can pay the morph cost later on and get a bigger, more useful creature.

That's not a real card, and the Sultai mechanic is actually Delve. Morph is a returning set wide mechanic and is accessible to all the clan colors.
