aww. lots of yugioh/mtg shenanigans coulda been done with that.
Anyways I went on a crazy win streak tonight. The highlight was this game against Ramp druid using my priest deck.
Very late game. He's been stopping my draw engines all game. He has me beat down to 3 life. I have him around 10. The whole game was neck and neck with both of us playing a seemingly scripted game. I've used both mind controls (one on ragnaros. one on his big taunt tree). I used all my shadow words except one death.
His field was a charge mode druid of claw 4/4, a 9/10 molten giant with taunt, and a keeper of the grove. With 2 cards in hand and nothing in the deck
My field was Norshire cleric, a damaged golem, and sunfury protector. In my hand I have shadow madness, two yetis and a venture co and something else I forget. I have 9 cards left in the deck and I draw another useless card. I know I can shadow madness the keeper, but even if my creatures all teamed up it still wouldn't kill the giant.
So, I live the dream and heal his giant...drawing right into my shadow word: death. I kill the giant. Shadow madness the keeper and ram it and my damaged harvest into his claw. He shows me the last two cards in his hand are innervate/growth and surrenders.
I totes fist pumped.

You have 3 Fiery Win Axes. At least 6.

So, my Birthday is tommorow and I'm thinking about dropping about 20-30$ on the game. What is the best use of my money?
My arena win/loss record averages at 6-7 wins.

Buying arenas is best if you want to make the most of your money, but it takes longer to get the cards because you still have to play.

I kinda like that idea in theory, but you kinda also have to win and I don't really know the game well enough for that. heh

Yes, 3 wins is break even. 7 is gain gold.

It actually seems rather balanced. MAges really needed something strong. Early game it won't be such a big deal unless you can throw it onto a harvest golem/Pain Acolyte. It sucks tempo-wise just like arcane intellect. Where it will really shine is late game to bury the opponent with Legendaries.
I can see cobra getting some play in mage because of this. I think the potential for card advantage is better than golem there.

Kirin Tor Mage + Duplicate will be the combo for mage now. Best turn 3 play possible.

Then you have to play kirin tor mage. Getting two 4 3 for 3s isn't all that great. It's not much of a combo. Not a combo worth building a deck around that's for sure.

It isn't the middle cards we should be worrying about. It's the opposite ends of the spectrum.
triple Leper Gnome. triple Bloodmage. triple loothoarder. For these 1/2 drops it is a tempo loss for card advantage. In the three drop spot is has to be pretty friggen epic to be worthwhile. Kirin tor as mentioned is the the only "on curve" monster you use this with that doesn't lose tempo, other than harvest golem/the divine shield 3/1. At 4 you have leeroy.
Then you have the legend mage and the possible triple Ysera/ragnaros/archmage/deathwing
DEATHWING
DEATHWING
why haven't people talked about that?
Three potential deathwings in a row puts the nail in the coffin for any deck without polymorph/hex.

ah yeah. doy. But yeah... 2 is still good. It would be hard to plan around that. You'd have to rely on top decking and in many cases Counterspell or Spellbinder would be just as good.

Meh turn 9 duplicate -> turn 10 deathwing isn't that much of a stretch if you are playing control.

Yeah. That's cool, triple rag is fine, archmage antonidas is ok, deathwing is fine. But triple ysera would suck because it's 9 mana and you resign yourself to doing nothing the turn you play it which means the only time you want to duplicate ysera is endgame when you're both top decking, which means they probably won't be able to deal with the original Ysera anyway.

Kripp made a video about it being a new player trap card. Good potentially in Arena, but bad in constructed.
I still see the main use being to duplicate Kirin Tor Mage. It's the only thing that lets you play both on turn 3 so you don't end up wasting a turn playing the secret.

Duplicate can be useful to salvage value out of weakened cards. Say you play cairne turn 6, they silence it. You can play a duplicate, and now you'll get a good chance for huge value out of a silenced cairne. Or you have a 1 health yeti against zoo after trading on your turn and you play a duplicate to get more value yetis. Or you play Sylvanas + duplicate into rag, essentially you can steal a few of his minions if rag kills sylvanas over and over. Then you can play senjin shieldmasta and to support him you have duplicate. Turn 7 duplicate senjin turn 8 double senjin is pretty strong, and it will protect your earlier minions. Polymorph/hex/flare will be strong cards against duplicate, which is why 1 counterspell may be run with duplicate in a shaman/mage/hunter heavy meta. It will be good I think in tournaments as a surprise pick, good in arena but you may want to consider running only 1 if any duplicates in constructed if you're going control and the same if you go aggro.

As I said I don't play Hearthstone much, but I'm mannon#1840 if anybody wants to add me on the off chance.
On a separate note I saw a video on a couple guys playing "suicide rules" which looks like an interesting and very different way of playing the game.
Basically you just try to kill yourself by any means necessary before your opponent kills themselves. It's probably massively unbalanced to play that way, but an interesting diversion all the same and not as simple and strait forward as it first seems since field control is still quite important.

www.wowwiki.com/Patch_1.11.0Naxxramas is the new 40-man raid dungeon that will present even the most experienced and powerful players with an epic challenge. Release (US): 20 June 2006 Seems like a good time to release the expansion would be the 20th. New class card reveal each week would end that week as well.

This guy's deck is CRAZY!” ☑ “My deck can't win against a deck like that” ☑ "He NEEDED precisely those two cards to win" ☑ “He topdecked the only card that could beat me” ☑ "He had the perfect cards" ☑ “There was nothing I could do” ☑ “I played that perfectly” ☑ "I had an UNBELIEVABLY BAD start" ☑"This is ridiculous ☑". evry tiem Still fun to watch every now and then though, but it's getting worse, have you noticed?

Trump is the bestest.
From what I've seen of Kripp...he turns Hearthstone into a CoD multiplayer experience.

My first time trying a version of aggro mage and...no joke... turn 4 kill against handlock.
Turn 1 He passes. I coin out a loot hoarder. Turn 2 He taps (28) I attack (26) and play my newly drawn knife juggler. Turn 3 He taps (24). I play my newly drawn Sorc apprentice. (knife to 23) I play Arcane missiles for free (20). Mirror image for free knives do 2 (18). Summon Boar knives do 1 (17) attack with my team (11). Turn 4 He Plays Molten Giant for 1 and plays demonfire on knife juggler and mortal coil on loot hoarder. I play fireball for 3 (5) Attack with Apprentice and boar (1) and play arcane missiles for free. Two damage hits molten and the last bit hits the player.
Pretty fun experience and by far my shortest non-conceded game. Granted I may have been pretty screwed if he had the 2 drop taunt giver. I actually did calcs on turn 3 to make sure he couldn't molten for free.
