DLC is like $40 extra dollars. Spending over $300 on a one-time transaction to get some crappy weapons during one week's release, is an ENTIRELY new level of ass-reaming that I have personally never witnessed before. Like it's raising the stakes quite a bit.
Seeing how it is working I suppose for Activision, I guess we are to assume more will be on the way.
As far as DLC, here's a question. I could have sworn the DLC used to come out in January years ago, if you were on the preferred platform. Now, even Sony being the sponsor, it's not coming out till early-mid Feb, almost three months into the game. That's still a long time. And XBone players won't see it until March (four months). With the releases being pushed further back, the utility of these DLC drops keeps diminishing, especially when we consider the first month they come out, they are on separate split playlists, and then further fragment things.

Hutch spent $350 of viewer-donated funds to get all the Black Market weapons, and was told by someone at Treyarch that he was lucky to get them all with only that much spent. Jesus christ. Sickening.

Ok so that dual wield crossbow thing looks sort of powerful. I'm a little sad I'll never have it.
The MX has no reload and just sounds like someone is farting bullets though, no thanks.

Hell of a lot better than the Sheiva, for starters -- the Garand's stats generally equalize or eclipses it, and one can mitigate reloads with Fast Mags or positioning.

Lottery better value compared to CoD point RNG supply drops and people call that idiot tax. So far only have the wrench but better than nothing.

Sickening. that really is. It's nauseating enough to think a person spent hundreds of dollars to get some dumb gimmick weapons you might use a dozen times. But it's like the Mt Everest of being a loser, to actually GIVE your hard earned money to a YouTube person, so THEY can get the weapons. Good lord, reading stuff like that, I'm almost embarrassed to say I play this game.

For anyone else, it's just silly. People are paying a lot of money to unlock some 1s and 0s they won't even be using a few months from now. But, hey, the community allows this to go on by buying into it.

I don't fault the youtubers. If I could get a bunch of losers to spend inordinate amounts of time every week, ten plus hours a shot watching dumb shit I put up . . . I would gladly take their money too. People like that deserve to be broke.

But I did get the Hallucination camo again for my ICR yesterday... So I've got that going for me, which is nice.

More I think about it why are headshots required for camo challenges given how they don't do much at the average distance?

More I think about it why are headshots required for camo challenges given how they don't do much at the average distance? In Touch Football some of the assault rifles and all of the pistols have a 29 damage range which makes them an OSK with their 1.1x multipliers. In core you need High Caliber for headshots to do anything for almost every gun. This situation reminds of how BO1 had gun damage values based around Stopping Power, but it was removed shortly before release and they never readjusted the values. In earlier builds of BO3s multiplayer every gun could use High Caliber, but they removed it from every gun except pistols and ARs, but the weapons it was removed from never got increased headshot multipliers. Camo challenges have always been headshots AFAICR and also they're too lazy to change them.

So I Golded up the MX Garand, and despite my having done so with every AR, the game says I haven't unlocked Diamond.
You're so silly, Treyarch.

I like the MX Garand. The 8 round clip isn't terrible, but taking on multiple enemies can be problematic. Generally you will fire 3-4 shots per kill so max 2 kills per clip. I find myself getting a kill and then just running around firing randomly just to empty my clip to reload. Very similar to the Sheiva. I enjoy both when I have my shooting boots on.

approaching five months into the BO III cycle and have yet to see a single host switch despite everyone in the lobby complaining about connection.
Hosts were routinely switched in BO II, why isnt this happening any more

Yesterday we had the weirdest "lag" ever. Domination on Hunted and we were living up to the name of the game mode. For the 2nd half we were all (both teams) moving in slow motion, you could still turn and shoot but all movements were in extreme slow motion. As in it took us maybe a minute to sprint to B. It was funny at first but after a few minutes we got bored of it and quit the game, but it was the weird.

Hosts were routinely switched in BO II, why isnt this happening any more I've seen it happen maybe 5 timed or less, and I have never seen it happen successfully. It's annoying when you are in a clearly laggy game but it stubbornly refuses to switch hosts. Maybe they couldn't figure it out so they just eliminated host switching altogether?

Most games actually occur on dedicated hosting, which is surprising, but it's true. When you connect to a dedi server on console, a letter "e" is added to the patch number. Well over 90% of my games are on dedi hosting, and when it's not, the game is unbearably laggy, far worse than any experience on a listen server on older cods. I have yet to have one pleasant experience on listen servers since I began tracking my experience between dedi and listen server games. All the unplayable games that have horrendous lag that make the game play at 5 frames per second that everyone leaves, are occurring in games on dedicated servers. This is why you almost never see host migration, which is good, because it is broken for me. I get kicked out of the game shortly after the host migrates almost every time. I associate that screen as an auto-loss now.
This game is very aggressively attempting to level the playing field between players with particularly aggressive algorithms I only superficially understand. But it is this reason why almost every game feels chuggy, "laggy", sluggish, and doesn't feel very rewarding, win or lose. I actually get a much better solo experience when I throttle my connection to just double the speed of dial-up, but you can't do that in party play, so there's little point in doing that. I swear, the longer I play, the more negative I become about Call of Duty as a whole.
