Alright, so last night I was absolutely destroying with the M4, SCAR, UMP, and Vector (I'm still a very low level). Should I have given the MP5k more of a chance to prove itself, or is it inferior to the UMP and Vector? Which of those 3 SMGs would you say is best? And would you agree that the SCAR is better than the M4? And finally, which full auto AR or SMG would you say is best for this class? Gun Launcher Tactical Insertion Flash x2 Bling (Silencer and Extended Mags) Stopping Power Scrambler or maybe Commando

Game is installed, got a bit of a wait for an update and then I'm going to jump in and probably not stop playing for the next 24 hours (still sour about the lack of G36 though)!
If I knew where the weapon stats could be located I'd post them provided no one else intends to, although it won't be a pretty graph like Den will put up once he has his copy.

i like the scar better than the M4. you need to be more accurate with it but 40-30 damage owns.
scar + HBS > FFA & S&D
been having so much good luck with AR's i quit loading smg's. i like the P90 best. ranges are just too far off for me to justify most of the others. i think unlike previous cod games the main AR set is balanced better. you can take near any of them and rape, they're either short-medium hose guns or medium-long thumpers.
going to be alot more fun leveling all the guns this time around!
only AR i hate is the FN2000 (dont have ak yet). it just has TOO MUCH KICK.

Okay MacMillan, look to the directory in which the game was installed. There should be a "Main" folder containing a bunch of ".iwd" files.
Open each .iwd up with 7Zip or WinZip or WinRar or whatever until you find the one containing a "weapons" folder. Pull that folder out of the iwd, stick it in a new zip and Megaupload/Rapidshare/Sendspace it for us. That would be super cool.

I've looked through all of the .iwds in the Main folder, unfortunately there was not a weapons folder. They are all sounds or images folders which obviously contain sounds and images. One .iwd refused to open for some reason, however it's about the same size as the rest of the image .iwds and inbetween two other .iwds so I doubt it has weapons. I'm still trying to comb through every single little file in the archives, but I'm pretty sure I won't find anything Edit: Found nothing. And for some reason, after a few seconds of starting up multiplayer (from both main menu & shortcut) the game crashes, but works in Singleplayer. Consider me frustrated. Edit2: Got mp working at least, still wish I could find wep stats.

Actually Scrambler combined with a Claymore on snipers could work quite well - moreso if you're sniper has a heartbeat sensor on it.
Infact, that's something I may try.

Is the M4 definitely 30-20 damage?

its the first gun i put 1,000 kills on. barring something retarded like 29-19 damage it is obviously a 30-20 gun. you get out into big boy ranges and it's still a 4-5 hit to kill weapon. up close it's 3-4 & done.

Alright, after extensive playtesting, I have the stats on the Riot Shield.
Damage: This Accuracy: Thing Range: Rocks RoF: HARD!
I might be a little bit off on the range- it could be "Rulz" or "Ownz".
Seriously, if I'm being perfectly honest, it kind of sucks (you're pretty much incapable of handling anything other than a strict 1-on-1 in a small space, and even then it's a 50/50 proposition, although you're pretty awesome at 2-on-2s and 3-on-3s). With that said, it is ludicrously fun to use. Plus, it's worth a million style points if you can manage to get the last kill of the match so everyone has to watch you slowly bludgeon someone to death.

The TAR-21, SCAR, and UMP are all one shot kills at any range in Hardcore.

I wonder why the AK is unlocked at level 70...
Maybe IW realized how good it was in COD4?

It was probably turned into the MP44.

Would like to throw this in: A silenced G82 without SP will fail to kill in one hit, even with a headshot, except at really close ranges. It'll also kill in 2 hits anywhere even at very long range despite the silencer. Shooting through walls at long range is usually a fruitless experience and a waste of precious ammo.
Completely imprecise weapon stats for the win!

I assume you mean M82 (question mark). Also, I should note that the TAR/SCAR/UMP were all silenced when I tested this, so it looks like there won't be any damage reductions with silencers, except maybe on snipers, although I am more inclined to believe that they have RIDICULOUS range without the silencer and much shorter range with it.

i did some rit shield in 3rd person teams last night. you get an assload of assist from damage reflected.
aslong as you keep them both infront of you you can deal with 2 people. if you try real hard you can reflect the bullets back to the shooter & kill them. quite afew times i stunned people & 1 swiped them. riot shield is invalueable in domination tho. it makes it SO hard to take the middle/vulnerable/most valueable control point when someone is sitting on it with a riot shield & blast shield.
really disrupts things when you camp with it. sure you die alot, but once they figure out you're not going anywhere it really makes them stop and think.

It's also a really good way to wreck your k/d ratio. But worth it... so totally worth it.

i killed my KD streaming for a week. my in-game kd is almost 5:1. (i added/divided out the days total the last day i played ffa lawlz) in game im still over 2:1 so not a big deal. one game of going .5 kdr isnt anything someone cant easily get back in 2 games of FFA.

I ran around with the Riot Shield and Blast Shield for a few hours of HQ.
I had a half-dozen friend requests by the end of it.
And one kill.

Like I said, terrible for your k/d ratio, great for your fun-quotient. Try using Throwing Knife with the Riot Shield. It at least gives you a quick and dirty attack that doesn't require completely abandoning your shield to use.

no, shield sucks without blast shield to survive the nade spam.
trust me. just take a nice pistol (quicker out time) and use stuns to actually run up & bash them with lightweight & commando! youll go from like a 1-10 to 1-2 and its not so bad.

Blast Shield isn't necessary- unless someone sticks a semtex on my shield, I have no trouble surviving 'nades. Also, Commando is useless on a Riot Shielder except for the "no fall damage" bonus- it doesn't increase the melee lunge range of the shield.
