If yes, we must now argue which faction we'd be.
Also, unrelated question, can you switch factions with the same character? So you keep unlocks and all that.

A character is limited to the faction he is made for.
It is likely that the released game will limit your account's characters to a single faction to prevent flippant team switching.
As for the factions, I'm leaning towards TR. But you guys should try out all three.
Get a feel for the weapons and tactics of your eventual enemy.

Blue and green are analogous colors and the two colors most seen in nature. You may have read them in such blockbuster hits like: -Grass -Sky -Trees -Water Bouncing Light from the Sky Refracting Light Through the Water in the Sky -Den's Clothes - This Thing-Megaman X These harmonic natural colors are nothing but the MOST fitting for a beagle, a dog who knows a thing about loyalty to your country or loyalty to yourself, thinks outside the box by going inside another box, kicks ass at smelling stuff on the ground and chasing things through the grass. Seeing as blue is a color signifying traits like loyalty and intelligence, green a color of such things as endurance, harmony and nature, again they are the two most suitable colors for a beagle. |

Damn straight it is. Nature walks are awesome.
Just walking down in nature town and you interact with the local flora and fauna like the vines and weeds breaking apart abandoned houses and homeless crack addicts asking you for a dollar to get some beer. It's very enriching.

After giving a brief look to the factions, I'd have to say TR is my preference. NC is okay, but not as good as TR. I don't care for the alien tools/looks of the VS.
And I would totally buy a Den hockey jersey.

I'm calling that the "sidegrades" of each army will simply be statistical copies of the other armies' weapons onto your own factions. So that Bolt Driver will end up on the TR and VS in some form or another.
TotalBiscuit and whatever large collective that rallies around him will surely just be part of the cannon fodder to endlessly clash in the center of the map, just as NC will have Stew360 and VS will have Azure Twilight.
That guy shouldn't be a problem since he will likely go US West and I'll be over in US East (if the server ever works).
Each side will have its good and bad parts of the community.
Each side will get shotguns.
Nanite Systems will have a lot of generic brand weapons for all three factions.

Wonder if there'll be a EU server in Amsterdam. That would be pretty swell.
One thing I wondered about; what happens if there's one empire with a lack of people? They just get torn to pieces constantly, without the people in it able to do much?
That wouldn't be a problem if people distributed themselves pretty evenly of course, but I never played the original so I wouldn't know

Lower damage per shot, but an extremely high rate of fire. Dunno how the weapon sidegrades are gonna play out in ps2, but in the first game, their heavy assault weapon was a minigun...and it was badass. No need to "Denify" it. I'd rather it not seem like it alludes to egoism.
Could be anything. Put some meaning in there. Think outside all the boxes.

I will resubmit Pig Riders. Pigs are in both western as well as non-western cultures a symbol for filth, gluttony or lust. Unjust, for the pig, or sus scrofa, is actually a gracefull yet fierce entity, and very suitable as a mount. Were it not for the biblical stigma religion has bestowed upon us, we would be referring to "pigboys" instead of the cowboy from the wild wild west.
The military had their pig cavalry in such high regard, they even nicknamed one of their most brutal and effective weapons deployed after them. They're that cool
I think we must give them the credit they so long deserve, for pigs not only kept us alive by feeding us. We owe a lot to them.
