Destiny's launch date is delayed to fall (09/09/2014). So Titanfall will be released without a challenger in Spring.
The question is: can it lure players away from CoD Ghosts?

Sometimes I feel alone in that I play more than two games regularly. Mousey: apparently you have the "gift of time", or more precisely, "gift of the game playing time" It's very hard for me to play 2 games at once. I still haven't finished my Halo 4 campaigns Titanfall looks appealing though, and it can very well be a good replacement when people are tired of Ghosts when Spring comes. ACTI also has an interesting dilemma. With both Destiny and CoD releasing during fall time frame, they may create a competition among themselves. I guess that they are banking on the fact that CoD players will pick up Destiny anyway, so they don't care that much about the play time distribution, just the number of copies they sell.

Actually, and it depends hugely on how Destiny turns out obviously, launching a couple of months in front of November CoD could be a little damaging. If it turns out to be killer, 2 months isn't going to be enough to get everything out of it - for most people.
Titanfall still looks superb. I've bought a PS4 now though so it'll be TF2 for me I suspect.

To be fair, few launches have really good games at launch. The only ones I can think of are Dreamcast, maybe Gamecube, and Xbox, but only for Halo.

I wonder if "AI" means minions will spawn at regular intervals like they do in some MOBAs as an inhibitor of momentum. That would be interesting and new to the FPS franchise.

There are apparently several kinds of NPCs doing their thing. One seen in the first gameplay trailer were the Marvin droids, three of which were killed by the Smart Pistol. It may have just been flavor, but their purpose is both minor combat capability and performing some menial tasks. Maybe they are creep-type NPCs that need to be protected on their way to complete an objective in some gametypes, and grazing fodder in other gametypes. Killing them grants some extra points as a quick probably safer means to reduce the Titan countdown.

Neat. It would seem that the developers are always thinking about the weaker players on the team and keeping them useful. I know this doesn't sound ground-breakingly insightful, but I like the timer system on Titans. It's a very simple concept, but that really doesn't matter when it should have positive incentives towards player behavior.
I also like how player can disembark and let their Titans as a follower to that player. If titans' weakness are too exploitable by pilots players can jump out and the titan can act as free ground support, too strong and it means the match leans on the stronger players' ability to pull the team. As far as I can tell TitanFall looks like a solid casual game on paper.

There are more pilot and weapon classes than in the alpha, more shown soon. Respawn has their own twist on the leveling up stuff. Respawn is willing to hear eSports feedback after launch. Titans don’t have any melee weapons. You can hack AIs in the game; the AI will then be on your side and attack enemies. You cannot customize the looks of your Pilots; only the loadouts. Titanfall is right on schedule for the March release date; no delays expected. Players in the alpha can never show or talk about what the played – even after the game’s launch. Titanfall will have it’s own matchmaking system Respawn has plans to support the game after launch; no news if DLC will happen. Each side will have it’s own color theme. AI are not equivalent to human players; they don’t have same abilities. They haven’t shown all the weapons yet; more to be shown. Stats from the alpha will not transfer to the game launch. Everyone starts at the same level. More video footage is on it way. More details on the PC and X360 versions are still to come. Also, more leaked info from Alpha can be found all over the Internet, including YouTube. titanfallblog.com/ also has blog entries for many of them.

Considering how many AIs there can be on the field (dropships, creeps, unmanned Titans) judging a game for many human players can play is a bit of a misleading value. Even then Quake is a perfect example of why player count doesn't really matter in an FPS so long as the game is designed around X amount of players playing.

As its competitive scene has shown Quake functions optimally in a 1v1 due to how the game was set up mechanically. Quality over quantity; even if quantity just so happens to be a quality.

Awww, no 360? I hope my pc will be able to play it, but I am afraid not... Is somebody tough enough to make an educated guess whether I could play the beta? As the funfactor/quality of this game could change which next gen console I will buy, I would like to play this asap. This is what I have, it not really a gaming pc, and never was meant to be, except for the valentines weekend this year I guess... AMD Quad-Core A8-5500 Accelerated-processor with AMD Radeon™ HD 7560D Graphics AMD Radeon™ HD 7670 DirectX® 11-video with 1024 MB DDR5-memory 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM memory the onboard and 7670 GPU work together in some kind of 'crossover' way, I don't recall the name, but I remember that I enabled it. Don't know if you are familiar with that, otherwise, just ignore this last sentence
