You could use the loadout system. Unfortunately it is tied to a specific character but at least it covers your characters' complete build. Classified is the same green shade of colour as the rest of the gear sets, they just have two extra perks on them for using 5 or 6 pieces in your build. The gear sets are a different shade of green than the green drops you will dropping at low levels.

Would there be a chance of getting them from that farming that Brad and I did last night? because my inventory was so full, that to not go back to the base and stop... I just deleted anything not purple or gold.....

Only certain caches will give classified gear, there was none in last nights' drops. The classified pieces have higher number rolls possible, and two attributes can be rolled instead of one.
You needn't be thinking of them, yet. Plenty of powerful stuff out there that is much more common. When you get to yellows, Inventive backpacks, Vigorous chests, Enduring masks, and some exotic pieces, like Barrets' Chest, or Skulls gloves can make nice builds, especially in a blend with some gear set pieces.

Two of the best in their class, yes, and two of the best exotic weapons, along with Urban MDR and Showstopper.
Exotic (red) pieces drop from caches, boss kills, and completing Legendary and Heroic level stuff, about 1% of the time.

I'm giving an exam right now and I would love an API to play with a build right now. I know that I can't use it.... but literally just to see what I got in my cache to get excited for.

It would just as fun as it was in D1, trying to get Tier12.

BTW... is there gear restrictions ala destiny where I can only wear 1 gold piece of eq at a time... or can wear all gold gear?

Tier 12 is basically the Classified Striker set. No gear restriction besides weapon perks on Alpha Bridge but that is stated on the gear piece. My main character runs a high end build, which involves exotic gloves and an exotic chest piece, while the rest are gold quality pieces. This was actually the 'meta' at one point.

Edit: Just got a complete Classified Tactician set (even though the 5 and 6pc bonuses are rubbish) and Big Al.

The Tac set takes getting used to, but it's nice to be at the 450,000 soft cap for skill power almost all the time.
Just completed the 6 piece Alpha set, gonna tinker with it some, haven't been much of a AB guy before.

You can wear whatever, even 6 piece Exotic. Mix and match to your hearts' content.

Yeah there are no mechanics in-game to prevent combinations of armour or weapons like in Destiny. That said, it's worth nothing that Alpha Bridge will only give you the gear set bonuses if you have two of the same weapon type, and MC Skull gloves will only provide its bonuses so long as you don't have any gear set bonuses active. My 'balanced high end build' (roughly 5K across Firearms, Stamina, and Electronics each) is usually stronger than most of the builds randoms have been using when I've used matchmaking farming Lexington. But I'm guessing my build beyond those stats like the mods to damage to elites, skill haste, first aid self heal have all helped.

Did some solo work doing some side missions in Chelsea. While I'm level 23, tbh, I still haven't killed that much so I'm still in the destiny mentality of wanting to take enemies on 10/15/20 to 1 and slaughter everything. The "defend the ____" mini missions are helping me a lot, not just ingame... but helping me to defeat that mentality.

2 stupid questions: 1) I picked up some gear labeled Incendiary bullet or something like that... are they useful? and 2) How do you throw grenades and why is it so... cumbersome to do so? Not just because of destiny, but literally almost every game I've played, it's a simple button click... in the division, it's actual work (I guess I just have to get used to it)

Incendiary bullets can be equipped via the consumable wheel. There is a genade wheel, as well. Alternatively,you can throw the next grenade by dpad plus throw trigger. The path and trajectory show before you throw.

AB also gives bonus weapon damage and health regen.6 piece gives your ult after kills, but it only applies to you.

Is there an obvious benefit to them (IBullets?)

Yeah, they cause extra damage. There are also explosive rounds. They have a cooldown, so they last a little while, and are done for a bit.
You can always top these off at the BOO. There also things like water, canned food, and soda, that you can consume during fights for various benefits.
For me, the key is to freaking remember to use them in the heat of battle.

Loving 1.8. Some huge work done by devs since last played. Got 2 gearsets up to about 270+ so challenging modes are back on. Even the underground stuff has improved. Shame I just caught the tail end of the event so classified 6 piece builds are going to have to wait. That said. I’m doing ok with 4+2 sentry/deadeye and firehawk/tactician. Got 2 urban mdr to drop and they’re amazing with both builds.

My three best builds run MDRs. Got a good group for some DZ action today, we rolled face in DZ 06 and 07. 6 piece Nomad build changes the game for me there.

Hmm. Struggling with world tier 5 ‘killing the lieutenants.’ The three in top left of the map. I keep killing everything around before trying but as soon as I start on them loads of baddies magically appear on three sides. Doing my head in. I know I can back off a tier but I don’t want to. Masochist.

I’ll be in. I just went on and crawled/sniped my way through all three. I don’t remember respawning enemies? After I’d finished those three it sent me to a rooftop to disable a jammer. I swear there were infinitely spawning enemies there too. I was in the doorway and must’ve killed over 50 before getting bored and running in and finding too many to cope with. Died. I’m right on the brink of tier 4/5. Sometimes 5 is as annoying as fuck.

Ground out my base... all are at 100 now.... gonna do some side missions. Still working on my setup but having fun walking the streets of Manhattan crushing everything.

So after you left bradman, I did some random stuff but I guess I was stuck in your tier, because the 3 street thugs didn't go down with one seeker mine.... but after killing them, I noticed that the rewards didn't scale and that they were the same crappy stuff that I was used to on tier 1.....

Is that normal? Do random encounter rewards not scale up with difficulty? or is it just the missions?

Are you sure you weren't returned to your instance? The rewards are scaled to world tier, to be sure. In fact, make sure you set your session to wt5 if it lets you.

The 3 rioters were purple bar and the BB8 seeker barely took them out... before you... I just throw the BB and let it kill them and get the reward... this time, I actually had to shoot a gun. It was very unnerving.

Still got a purple piece of $hit from them as if they were normal
