That, plus he is not mentioning the sapetiene(?) Rapier. I don't own it yet, but the stats look impresive I have had my eyes on this too. It's like the ONLY Vanguard/Crucible/Factions gun that I have noticed as being worthwhile in buying. This seems like a good gun. A must buy imho. The problem is my Crucible account was drained, so I have had to rebuild the CM total back to 150. I'm just not playing as much as I used too, so it's now taking a while to get there.

Saterienne Rapier should be really good. Good stats and nice perks to boot. Definitely worthwhile if you don't mind grinding out enough Crucible marks to purchase it.

Grind is the operative word. I played here and there, just for fun the past week doubling down on IB/Crucible bounties for leveling purposes. But only got to around 105 marks. Still short by about 20 games. That's like 3 to 4 more hours. Not sure if I will get there, as it just feels to much. I feel like I have been falling out of the Destiny loop lately (with keeping up), and feel myself kind of losing interest.

Datto's Foxtroting dumb about auto rifles. Which Auto Rifle do you recommend? The mid impact/RoF tier of auto rifles is where most of the new ones are, and they are amazing. The new ones in this tier are: Up For Anything, For The People, and Do Gooder V. The first is from the vanguard quartermaster and the other two are from the crucible quartermaster. Dattos completely blew them off, ignoring that they all have incedible stats. Up For Anything has the second highest stability of any auto rifle (second only to the SUROS Regime) making it a great weapon at even the longest ranges while keeping shots on target. The Do Gooder V is a great PvP weapon, with the third eye perk, giving you radar while ADS. I forget all the specific perks, but I think all 3 of them have persistence (gun gets more stability as you fire with no loss to RoF) and perfect balance (increases base level stability significantly) making them incredibly deadly at all ranges. For example, when you get rushed by thrall, you can just lay the reticule on their head and hold down the trigger and you'll clean out groups with headshots like nothing. Anyways, they are all worth buying, just depending on what play style/perks you want would give you a leaning towards one or another.

Eh...if you're level 30/31, you're keeping up just fine -- all content in the game is able to be completed at 30 except the Crota fight, and you'd only really need a single 31 in your group for that. The few people who are 32 right now either got extremely lucky with raid armor, exotic, and radiant shard drops, or deleted and releveled multiple characters for extra chances at raid gear and/or radiant shards (i.e. gaming the system). It's not like you have to be 32 by the day hard mode is released anyway -- I'd be happy if I was able to get just 1 of my characters there by then (I have the gear now, but not the shards). So I wouldn't fret too much about it. Maybe take a little break over the holidays and see if your interest is rekindled afterwards.

I did three raids last night, got the gear I needed. Two pair of boots. I can now complete two Warlocks to level 32. Shards aren't an issue. I have about 24 right now, and plenty of extra/excess gear to break down, as well as close to 30 Radiant Energies to exchange for shards if needed. I just need to fill up a pair of boots, the meters. It's just a matter of leveling up the meters on the boots. That might take about twenty bounties or so.
File me under 'gaming the system' I suppose.
Yeah, I hope interest rekindles.

More bad news: you need to reach Eris Rank 4 to be able to exchange RE (Radiant Energy) into RS, which is a long grind considering there are only limited Eris bounties available every day. In particular, you need 4000 Eris XP to go from rank 3 to rank 4. I am going full speed (use the bounty duplication exploit) and am still 2400 XP away. I would be curious to see how you reached rank 4 this quickly.

it's actually good news witty
I am over level 3 on the Eris bounties Witty. I am only playing one character on the Eris bounties (not three like you guys) so i have been able to focus just on one character, been doing them almost every day. All in all, If i put in some time, i will have it done by Sunday. I plan on converting some of those Radiant Energies.
My 2nd Warlock already has it's Helmet and Chest armor pieces fully leveled up. It's Gloves are only one meter away from finishing. All i have left after that is the new boots i got (which is 21 pieces). I think I will have enough Shards to finish it, depending upon the above Eris Lv4 finish.
I plan on being Level 32 by the end of the weekend. If not, i will definitely have enough by next Tuesday morning, no problem at all.

Yup... here's hoping lizard squad members all get caught and go to nice but rapey prison... Remember the cut scene in MW2, when they catch Roja's assistant nd the garage door closes just as Ghost starts to make the batery jumper cables spark as he's about to torture the motherfucker? That. And more. Like some of the stuff Method Man and the WuTang talk about in that intro to that song off of 36 Chambers that I can't remember right now. Those. And more.

Regarding XBL status, my impressions from Twitter traffic and my own experience:
Christmas day: out for the entire afternoon for most players; Friday: on and off in the afternoon for some players; Today: mainly good, out intermittently;

Maybe Bungie should use this outages to rethink this entire DLC package.
1. The Raid - This has turned out to be a flop. There is no incentive to get in with a group. Why spend hours and hours trying to beat Crota, when you get solo it and get 75% of the rewards yourself, in 1/100th the time?
2. Eris Missions - This was mildly fun at first, some new stuff to do, but has quickly grown very stale. One needs to do Eris bounties to get to level 4, to exchange your Radiant shards and energies. But the problem is there are only 3 to 4 bounties a day. And typically, half of them (available) are time based bounties. Go to Earth and wait. Sit on your ass and wait for three knights to appear. Or go sit on your ass and wait for a knight, so you can steal it's sword and kill 15 hive. I'll be blunt. These are fvcking stupid. Yes, we get it Bungie. You want people to spend more and more time on your game, so you can throw out more meaningless stats about how many hours are logged on this game. Bravo to you, as most of your customers are now hooked and won't say anything critical. But i will. Your dumb stats don't measure quality. There's no 'quality' to sitting around on a map, doing nothing but waiting for time-gated enemies. And worse yet, there's nothing worse than waiting over and over for a sword....and then having d-bag randoms in your area kill all the enemies FIRST, before you can get to them with your sword. Oops, only got 7 kills. Now i have to wait 8 to 10 more minutes for a Knight. Great.
I've also noticed that more and more.....randoms are sitting in certain bounty cheese spots trying to fvck people over Take the three musketeer spots. A number of times this weekend, have seen people just sitting where the three Knights spawn, to block people from getting it. As i type this, (now 9 min and counting)...i am sitting in that spot waiting out an asshole, who is blocking the spot from me. He apparently got pissed because i showed up, so he sat there in the spawn. I said 'fvck it', and sat there back. I'll type this post and wait him out. Be a bigger dick lol.
...now 11 minutes in, ...the a-hole just got up, shot me, grenades me, and then left.
Welcome to Destiny.

The only good thing for me for the bounties is I can get 3 Motes of Light for the Nightfall one. I've had someone snarch the sword from underneath my fingertips once but I saw it happening because I was in The Divide and some of the bounties are not helping so players fight over enemies. I usually leave the Crota minions now unless I have a few bounties I picked up.

I am not surprised by it. This is from the same chumps who decided to make Nightfall harder for solo players and refuse to use matchmaking for players who do not have time to sift through LFG channels (some groups I hear have bizarre requirements). I did the 'kill 5 Wizards whilst being invisible' by entering my own game but it was monotonous. Spawn in the Steppes, head to the main building, go through the Hive and up the steps, wait for the Wizard to pass by to fight the Fallen, kill her. Rinse, repeat four more times.

Siege of Warmind is heaven for bounty hunters. Nowadays I get most of my bounties done there, and nobody can stop me Crota final fight cheese does need to be patched, otherwise it is a loot piñata. For the first two phases I am fine with them doable solo, although ideally the bridge cheese should be fixed. For me personally: the main reason to play raid is to have fun. If the only reason why I play the game is to get loot, then it is probably time for me to move on, because, let's face it, what am I going to use the new weapons and armors for?

Okay, seriously, don't fight over blades... I'll pick those up when doing other bounties and most of the time all I do is go check for blades here and there while going about my other business and get several. But if going specifically for them and you don't want to compete... fire up Fist of Crota. Just sparrow through the start directly to the summon and he's always there all for you. I don't know why people camp these things... Sure you have to go to orbit to restart the mission, but it takes less time than waiting for a respawn in patrol and there's never any competition.

Yup, what Witty and Mannon said. Fist of Crota mission if you need to kill Blades, Siege of the Warmind for Hive majors, and both work good for precision kills, melees, and whatever other Eris/Hive-related bounties you're working on. You'll never have a dbag block spawns or steal the sword from you again!

How are you getting the 'Hunt the Knights' and 'Kill 15 Hive with a sword' bounties done there? Those two bounties are the one's i am mostly referring to, as they are the most annoying. They also seem to pop up almost every day. I think you are missing the point Witty. The 'fun' comment is irrelevant. We all play for fun. But if given a choice between spending hours and hours to get weapons & armor (from a Raid)....or go spend 15 minutes and get the same stuff, why not spend less time? So a person like me just does the Raid's solo to save time. It makes sense. I'm trying to play multiple games these days, so i don't much as much free time to do hour long raids. And with that, there's nothing wrong with playing for loot. You play for loot. We all play for loot. Look at this board. That's all people mostly talk about. "I got this weapon" "I got this armor". etc.... You take the loot away, you aren't playing this game imho.

When did that get changed? Why would you go do the Siege of Warming for Hive majors? Just do the Three Musketeers. If no one screws with it, it takes like three minutes. I do the one Moon mission for precision kills. The Dark Beyond? Something like that. It only takes like two cycles to get it done.

IW, do Fist of Crota for the Blades of Crota and 15 sword kills. Sparrow past everything at the beginning until you get into the hallway, and there will be 3 acolytes there summoning the knight. After killing it and getting your sword kills done, you can either go to orbit and repeat, or continue until the next checkpoint and let yourself be killed. If you get the next checkpoint, you can run back to the starting hallway area and all the enemies will respawn, including the Blade. That seems slightly faster than going back to orbit each time.
EDIT: Looks like you posted while I was typing this one out! Siege is good if you're trying to do Hive majors and other stuff all at once. There are hallowed thrall in the hallway area. Clear that out and jump off the ledge. Rinse, repeat.
