2 Raids? Sounds like They might have pushed one ready for launch into the expansion?
Does not matter to me though since I am getting all the expansions anyway.
Where are the new Crucible maps?!

None of this is really new, it was all pulled from Beta files and was on Destiny DB months ago. Crota raid is from the Dark Below expansion, the reef raid is from the House of Wolves, and it was probably planned that way all along. I doubt either raid was ever planned to be available at launch.

Dumb question:
On the PSN, they have 2 versions of Destiny... a 69.99 and a 99.99 version? Does the 99.99 come with the expansions already added on (for example, you can buy just COD for X amount, but you can buy COD + a season pass for X ammount + 40?

Yes, the $99.99 one includes the first two expansions whenever they release.

WTF
Ok...that's not right. You release a game that deliberately cut out all of the plot elements, making the story an incoherent mess. Then turns around and sells back the missing story pieces as DLC? Good lord, that sucks.
I'm sure some people out there approve of this. Looking at Damon Lindelof!!!

but no new planet?
to be completely honest I'm kinda disappointed with the overall amount of content in this game. I've spent more time finishing CoD campaigns than the storyline of this game. And this is supposed to be an MMORPG so... that's kind of ridiculous.
Borderlands 2 had so much more and that was only a PS3 game. I guess the hype is the game now

I have to play for these expansion packs? What do you mean by "play for"? The way the expansion packs work is like DLC for cod (called expansion pack because they are supposed to contain significant more content): you buy them either individually or through season pass, install and you will have new contents showing up on your map.

My guess is that if the "gutting" rumors are true regarding the story, the expansions (with significant story elements) are a result of the release deadline being hard set.

It'll be hard to tell. The story could just be what it is for whatever reasons and the expansions could have better writing as a reaction to the negativity about the story so far, rather than cut content. I wouldn't be surprised if some content did get cut, simply because there is always something cut for a hard deadline release. But this stuff looks like it was always planned for the expansions. Cut content may well be introduced for free, though I doubt they have anything like an entire planet cut or anything.

The fact that the date of expansion pack 1 is pretty well set right after beta, means that they have high confidence that there are already enough content lined up to be delivered by December. It's anybody's guess whether these content could have fitted into the launch and ActiVision/Bungie just decided to intentionally delay them for the extra money.
For example, if the expansion pack 1 is really going to have 2 Raids, they could have put 1 of them in the full game. One could argue that they may not have quite finished polishing it at launch time, but such argument is weak because they don't have to make the Raid available right away. They delayed the first Raid until 1 week after the launch, they can just easily delayed the second Raid to 1 month after first Raid.

Alternatively they wanted to check how the current content holds up before adding more and polished what they had ready to go accordingly. The gutting and cutting regarding the story seems unfix able regardless unless they add more story to the 1-20 experience and built on to it in later expansions. To be fair... 2 expansions for around 15 dollars each still seems reasonable, let's see when they are actually out and if expansions past that cost vastly more due to the fact that nobody will have had the possibility to "save" money by buying a bundle.

I have little doubt that the first expansion will be packed with content, even before seeing the leak (which is still unconfirmed BTW). For Destiny fans, it will be a great bargain at $15 (for whoever bought the DGE edition or above, otherwise probably ~$20)
Let's hope the second one is even better, not the other way around.

I just realized this morning that, for the first time since #4, I haven't pre-ordered CoD. And, strangely, I'm just not bothered.
I think it's the jet boots. I dunno. I'm not ready to leave Destiny. It's a real moment of clarity. I didn't see it coming and I'm frankly surprised.

I can't help but suspecting that ActiVision has the whole thing planned out: Destiny released 2 months ahead of AW with less-than-expected content, then 4-6 weeks later after with a pretty meaty expansion pack coming out. Great way to get money on Destiny + CoD:AW + Destiny expansion packs. Also all the bases are covered: Military vs. Scifi PvE focus vs. PvP focus Cooperative MP vs. competitive MP PS4 (leading platform for Destiny) vs. XONE (leading platform for CoD) As it stands now, Destiny Crucible is no threat to CoD so the two games can exist in harmony. Want to use cool weapons and abilities to shoot AIs? Destiny. Want to kick other players' ass or get kicked? CoD:AW. Pick your poison, bros

I did preorder CoD because this one looks different and Titanfall population will probably nosedive when CoD releases, but I will keep at Destiny and probably still play it more than CoD. With Destiny I can jump in and do pretty much absolutely nothing for 20 minutes to 5 hours and still feel like I got something out of it. CoD has progression but it always feels kind of hollow to me. You unlock stuff just to unlock it for the most part, but every step forward just gets you closer to that giant leap backwards.
I'll be honest, I never liked the whole prestige thing. I don't like game+ modes. I don't really even care for regen in TF either. I still do it... sometimes... But I'm not a fan of it. It's a CHEAP means to get players to replay everything they already did for some measly reward that only cost you a couple of manhours to implement. Frankly, it's shullbit. But, whateves... I much prefer a nice long grind that's permanent. I may get tired of the RNG on raid loot eventually, but for now I feel like I'm still having lots of fun in Destiny and for me personally I don't think I'll be done with the game even when I hit level cap.

IMHO Titanfall's prestige system is pretty brilliant. You are not forced to do it at all (unlock BO2, you pretty much have to do it all the way if you want everything unlocked), but if you do, the challenges are encouraging you to explore different areas of the game, which will then make you become a better and better player. I think that It is pretty well designed.
With the update #8: you now have the ability to skip some challenges. Even better.

Exclusive info on the Strike from the December DLC. You read it here first:
Upon spawn, you can fight your way through lower level enemies, or you can hop on your sparrow and drive right past them to the entrance to the respawn restricted area. You'll fight through some weaker enemies before arriving in an area with a gate you'll need to get through to get to the objective. While your ghost works on opening the gate, you'll have to defend against three waves of enemies. Survive, and you'll travel to the next area where you'll fight a mini-boss. Defeat the mini-boss and you just need to travel through a few more rooms full of enemies to get to the final boss. The final boss fight is in a large, open area, with some strategically placed cover on the outside. There's also a small area where you are safe from enemies that you'll need to make use of to survive the Nightfall.
