Haha yeah I am kind of curious as well. Must have been pretty bad if compliments are headed my way! Not sure if I will get any raiding in while in MN. Hopefully I will be set up enough today to collect some of my free light level for the week. Right now this is some real frontier shit! I only have access to a tablet for the moment.

Dumien, thebb22, hebbnh, and I ran the raid with two other clan folks - Jigga and Genuwine. Jigga is a skilled player, but also lacks patience and coaching ability (and, as noted above, was not always correct in his inflexible opinions). It was still fun, but was a little less relaxed and fun than our normal group. It highlighted to me that Post really is a pretty supportive and positive coach for challenging activities. Even when he yells at me... So several of us got our first raid clear, straight through, with very few wipes. And a couple of them were solely the fault of wonky internet connections (hmmmm, I wonder who those could have been related to).

And a couple of them were solely the fault of wonky internet connections (hmmmm, I wonder who those could have been related to). Pretty much that. I get that everybody has things that annoy them, and failing repeatedly in Destiny is certainly one of those for me, but when your threshold for getting noticeably frustrated is two wipes on Gauntlet less than 5 minutes into a fresh raid with guys you've never played with before and who don't happen to share the same outlook and terminology on exactly when and what callouts need to be made, you might want to just chill the Foxtrot out a little bit. That, and if you're going to be the guy that insists on others running certain weapons, classes, etc the way you want them to, the least you can do is get your facts right first. Oh well, hadn't played with him before from what I remember, and I won't be going out of my way to do it again. Post is obviously best pony! Also, when you say wonky internet connections, surely you're referring to Xbox Live's frequent issues with party chat dropping out, and not issues with the Hebbs' mediocre at best ISP. Surely. You must be.

One of my top 10 favorite things on XBL is trolling the crap out of Ji66a. He is just /so/ fun to troll because he is /very very/ set in his ways. I'm proud of what you guys learned and how fast you learned it with the comparatively low amount of time you put in. Keep in mind that Ji88a has 6 fully curated characters total on Ps4 and Xbox. He isn't patient at all, but his weakness is that he /needs/ to get everything done, which makes him an asset since I can count on him to be a 6th (or 3rd) competent player.
I'll take the time to explain why he was wrong on a couple of occasions. Gauntlet is all about getting all the rust out. It demands assemblyline-esque consistency. It doesn't surprise me that LOTS of people (even varsity squad) have troubles when they do gauntlet for the first time in a week. Call orders only matter if 1) the runners sound the same or 2) the listeners haven't cleaned their ears.
On dogs. Use whatever the hell gets your job done the fastest. I understand why he wouldn't want rockets, BUT the mini adds dont spawn for a while so if you get the kill fast enough you don't have to worry about the drawback of a random add running in front of your rocket.
When the pattern is specifically L2/R1 on flowers... you want to run to L2 First, regardless of the fact that R1 is the closest. The dog cycles match up so that if you go to L2 first then the R1 dog won't be there by the time you run to R1. The vice versa isn't true (if you run to R1 first, the L2 dog will be there to block you....thus wasting even more time.
I think we honestly dominated calus. It took a couple rounds to get everyone adjust to the ji66aman way but we got it. Again he wanted orderly callouts, but ain't nobody got time for that. If you are a good listener you can pick out the od word out from "so-lar" "beast" "go-blet" and "ax-es." This ends up saving a solid 2 seconds, which is 2 seconds that I can spent running to the platform I need. As you noticed...he isn't the best listener. Multiple times I had to shoot to my left on gauntlet since he was being slow.

As far as me having 1/3 the experience, in the case of Jigga surely it's more like 1/30. Though I mean why are you expressing 1/3 as a fraction but not 7/4?!? Hey can I get some consistency here?
Also I'm a full-sized motherFoxtroting horse here people. Plus the wingspan of a freakin' pterodactyl. Not a god gosh darn golly gee whiz pony. Get your shit straight.

Keep in mind that Ji88a has 6 fully curated characters total on Ps4 and Xbox. What the fvck. This jigga need to chill out and find something else to do, take a break from gaming. Sounds kind of disturbing how he is. Reminds me of this past Call of Duty player I used to play with back in the day. Can't remember his profile name, (Malgato might...mal?), but this guy was like a 40'something bro who lived in his mom's basement (no joke) and played CoD way to much. Like he averaged 7 to 8 hours a day, and typically had like 40+ days played by the next summer. If you grouped up with him, he would lose his sh1t in seconds all the time and berate people for being out of position, being killed, dying to much, whatever. He was like really famous for it. He's been off my friends list since I think CoD Ghosts.

For Gauntlet, we have one runner call out words (top, middle, bottom) and the other call out numbers (1, 2, 3) to indicate where to shoot. It gets rid of any confusion about voices, and allows you to tune out the info you don't need and process the info you do need more quickly.

Any Xbros have anything they need to get done tonight? The only worthwhile stuff I have left is prestige nightfall on my 298 Titan (meh) or another raid run on said Titan (also meh as I don't particularly want to be up that late tonight). Anybody besides THebb and myself interested at all in crucible or Trials?

I could do Prestige NF. I could do raid, too, but agreed on not being up too late.
I feel like the raid should be manageable in under 2 hours, but not sure if we really are practiced enough yet. People are doing it in under 30 minutes now, so...
Also, I might not be on until 530 or 600 Alaska time, which is already getting late for some of you in the lesser 48.

I use the raid rocket in the raid with the exception of Hawthorne's shotgun for the bathers. Against dogs the raid rocket is basically a OHK to them with 60 stacks.

Yeah above 290 it gets a little more tough. What is your lowest gear?
If it is your kinetic or energy weapon, try doing an exotic quest if you still haven't done all 3. The other two are not as easy as mida though (rat king requires dedication in nightfall, sturm/drang just take time basically).
Otherwise all you can do is get exotics or powerful gear. Doing multiple characters helps, but if that is not your thing, it will get slow from now on. Flashpoint, nightfall (prestige nightfall), raid and call to arms.
Oh yeah, trials is a huge source of powerful gear too (and you complete call to arms automatically). You get 2 gear pieces (armors/weapon) at 3 wins, A guaranteed trials armor piece at 5 if I remember correctly, and a guaranteed weapon at 7 wins. If you go flawless you can get another piece of armor (choice between 2). Also you get the tokens, but those give normal legendary rewards. All in all ~5 powerful gear even if you don't go flawless. Give it a try, it is a lot of fun once you get some teamwork going on. Better than both normal crucible playlists imho.
Another good one some players don't capitalize on are the chests in the raid. They have a really high chance to drop exotics. Something like 1/3 - 1/4.

I was stuck, now i am not. The stall only lasted like two sessions. Perhaps it was due to the weekly reset?
So I was getting 285 legendary engrams consistently dropped for weapons and armor. While I was progressing from the 280's to the level of 292 (which is what I was on last night to start).
Then I started playing last night. I got a freebie from the clan vendor. Then I went and finished pretty much all the Milestone objectives except for the raid and NF. So I got like five of them done. The Ikora challenge, Crucible, Public event thing, plus two others I can't remember, plus a completed a quest. Also got lucky with two exotics from the crucible and something else I don't remember. I also won a the dead orbit faction prize. Yay me. I got a scout rifle and leveled it up to 298. All in all, a few hours of playing stuff reaped me a huge bounty of engrams and other prizes. I ended up going from 292 to 299.
Right now, I think the game is defaulting to dropping me 291 legendary engrams for weapons and armor. My three best weapons are a 299 (MIDA), 302 pulse rifle, and a 299 Launcher. My armor is all in the 298 to 302 range....except for my boots which are still low 290's. I can't find ANY mods for boots. This is killing me.
All in all though, the +7 bump last night was good. With a break or two, I can be at 300 and then be like all the other cool guys who have +300 power level. Maybe start getting invites to raids and Nightfalls!!!

Not bad IW, not bad at all.
Buy blue mods from gunsmith with glimmer, you will get boot mods sooner or later.

I should be around Sunday and Monday evenings. Got my warlock up in the 290s now so I could use another nightfall as well if anyone would like to join me.
