I do love that map. I haven't seen an equivalent for the Gorgon's maze... or anywhere for that matter. I did see a site a while back with some impressive top down renders of the exterior areas in the game, but I don't think it had the maze and I can't remember the site. hmmm... Oh and I've seen CE done in Minecraft. heh Not sure that counts, but could do... We have all the maps mapped out on here, top down view. They are on this board. I did them. denkirson.proboards.com/thread/7448/destinys-worlds-iw5ks-handdrawn-notes?page=1

sorry.... what is all about this skipping part...
do you not have to light all of the lamps?

As for CE I've also seen it suggested to take a left at lamp 6 (just at top of first ramp) and skip directly to 9... or 10. I don't recall. I haven't done it, but it seems like a reasonable idea. There's a Knight there, that seems to mess with you, if you are moving slowly.

sorry.... what is all about this skipping part... do you not have to light all of the lamps? No. In theory, you could run all the way through without lighting any lamps. The only reason you even go by the lamps, is so you can keep reducing your darkness meter. Drop it to zero, so you can run faster. The key to running it solo is to work on your timing. If your darkness meter is low, you run past certain lamps. Just run right by, or only start for a momentary recharge. Only stop at a lamp...when you need to lower your darkness meter. You want to try and avoid letting it get up into the 6 + range (and the number of thrall around plays a factor too)

I run right past a number of them. And you'll see after lamp 4 or 5...the first wave of thrall will slow down or die off. They only really come back, like in two more waves.

Back to IB related discussions.
In this IB cycle I finally find time to play with various exotic primaries besides Suros and Vex, and the experience has been quite enjoyable:
The Last Word: this weapon dominates short range battles just outside the shotty OSK radius. "The Last Word" indeed.
Thorn: while TLW dominates the short range, Thorn is a beast for mid range. After you line up your shots to hit enemy 2-3 times, you have the option to either retreat to let DOT take care of the kill, or follow the DOT number popping up from enemy's head to finish him off, depending on the situations.
Red Death: solid weapon for mid range. The great thing about this weapon is that each kill immediate initiates health regen, making the weapon a great choice for 1vN situations.
I also experimented briefly with MiDA + Radiant Dance Machine combo, did not go as well as I hoped because most of the IB maps seems to be a bit too small for MiDA. Plan to experiment more.

There was an incredible amount of Thorn and Red Death in Iron Banner. Red Death saved me from death due to Thorn damage a lot of times. It's the only way I'm aware of to counter getting killed from 2 hits by the Thorn. I did not touch TLW, because it's effective range is the same as Fusion grenades, and I ran Voidfang to get two per life.

I spent way too much time this past week playing Iron Banner. I probably won't get on tonight, so as it stands here's what I got:
Titan: I did the reset trick, purchased one Chest and one Boots (the versions with Discipline). Warlock: Reached rank 5, purchased one of each of the armor pieces. Hunter: Reached rank 4, purchased one of each of the armor pieces.
I purchased 3 Jolder's Hammers, rerolled to have one of each damage type. Already had a Silimar's Wrath and it's garbage, so didn't purchase that. Had 2 Felwinter's Lies, got 2 more from drops, rerolled so now I have one of each damage type with Full Auto. Rerolled my Efrideet's Spear to have Void and Final Round. Rerolled a Radegast's Fury to have Arc, Tracking, and Clown Cartridge. Not sure how I feel about this one, but there aren't any Exotic Arc launchers, and I don't have another Legendary with Arc and Tracking, so I feel like it could be useful.

How do you like your Efrideet's Spear with Final Round? Does it really do one shot body kill?
I already have one with Void damage, not sure if I want to reroll to just get Final Round since I am pretty happy with using Preydyth's revenge like a ScoutR (i.e.: has the option to either OSK headshot or spam 2 body shots for the kill).
Thinking about rerolling the IB Rocket Launcher to get an Arc one with tracking and bigger mag size.

It does one shot body kill. I don't snipe a lot in Crucible to be able to give it a good comparison. I switched to it a couple of times during Iron Banner to counter-snipe enemies, and it really helped because I was able to get the first shot off much more easily.

Final Round is a OHK to anywhere on the body, and is the same as players benefiting from Ward of Dawn with Weapons of Light. Final Round will now be a more sought after upgrade because of the special ammo reduction in-game and the nerf to armour piercing rounds. You may find you cannot kill players through mesh material like B on Twilight Gap any longer. It's not particularly amazing since anyone with half decent eyesight can still see you because of the scope glare snipers have.

Got to IB rank 5 so I can have the options of fresh glitch for next IB. Also did a bunch of rerolls on my IB weapons, my final line up:
1) Shotty: 2 w/Full Auto, 1 Arc, 1 Void. Other perks are so so;
2) Sniper Rifle: Final Round, Spray and Play (reload faster when the mag is empty, useful to go with Final Round), Custom Optics (for better zoom). This should be a fairly "dirty" weapon for Crucible. The less ideal part is it has solar damage;
3) Machine Gun: Field Scout (to have bigger mag size and more total ammo), Rodeo (to have less recoil), and Crowd Control (bonus damage for a short time after kill), this one is near perfect roll;
4) Rocket Launcher: Rolled one with Arc so I can finally have a decent Arc damage RL. Perk wise: Tripod and Field Scout, no tracking though. Hopefully another dirty weapon for Crucible;
These plus the Scout Rifle from last IB that has near ideal rolls should give me enough fire power through HoW (my assumption is that 331 attack weapons are still good enough, just like 300 weapons are still good enough after TDB).

What is the fother perk on your rocket? Anything without proximity/tracking is not really good for crusible. Proximity being vastly superior on most maps imo

Probably OK because I am not a big fan of RL in Crucible: 1) I like LMG for PvP, and 2) LMG is in general underutilized in PvE high end content, so I wanna give them some love in PvP

Iron Banner is allegedly hapenning tomorrow but the 1.1.1.2 update has meant dataminers cannot even tell us in advance of when Iron Banner is on. I guess this is to have fewer people doing the reset trick. You would think that if this is Bungie's reasoning they eould actually reduce the grind because it is pretty bad if you have three characters, especially depending on your schedule. Even if the reset trick is not possible, I would appreciate some notice myself so I can make plans better.

I agree. Not sure what's going on there. I'm hoping when they update the site today with the HoW announcement they give some info about the next Iron Banner as well.
Fingers crossed that they bump the light level above 36 for the armor from the next Iron Banner.

The last several Iron Banners have been almost exactly a month apart if I recall correctly. I'd say to expect a new one every 4th week unless/until Bungie changes the schedule.

They didn't bump the light level right away after TDB, and they only did it for one item at first, then two items later. I'd expect a similar rollout. They probably won't want IB stealing any of HoW's thunder until it's been out for a while.

The upcoming one is the reset I don't want to miss because I went through the grinding to get to level 5 and would like to get a Timur's Lash with this opportunity I believe that Bungie always make an announcement (Twitter, Destiny App news, etc) for IB. If they don't have one by now, most likely it won't happen this week.

Best if you do it before the special ammo reduction take its toll unless you have the Word of Crota. I have a Bad Juju bounty to do for the Crucible requirement but I'll wait for the Iron Banner for it.

Still no announcement on Iron Banner. I wonder if they are not bothering with it or just don't want people to know in advance because of the refresh trick. Really, if it's the latter they could lower the XP needed because it's a bit much for three characters. I can even see 'legit' players missing out because of the lack of notice too.

I really really don't think they would hide one off their major events because some people glitch it.
That makes no sense. Fixing it would be super easy (kick everybody out off the game for a minute/do a maintenance thing/actually fix the thing) and how much people would do the glitch? 0.1%? Missing a chance to advertise something about your game >>>>>> caring about ppl getting gear.

For that matter they could just change when the game resets your IB rep. Part of the issue here is the game keeping your rank from the last one all the way until the next. They could just wipe everybody server side right after IB is over.
I think if they are delaying Iron Banner it's either because they are working on it or because of HoW. Hell maybe both. I recall people being disappointed in the first IB after TDB because it was just a repeat. Maybe this time the first IB after HoW won't be.

If IB is next week, expect it to be a wild-wild-west TLW fest thanks to Xur's current sale. Players who were not willing to cough the coins for it before are very likely to get it this time
