Just saw that on Reddit. So much faster than the room to the left of the entrance. Going to try this tonight for sure.

To get back off topic for a moment...
Personally I don't really regard the heavy ammo exploit to even be a glitch. You aren't clipping through a wall or breaking the physics in some strange way. It's simply what happens when you have no primary or heavy ammo. All we are doing is noticing that the game has some logic built into what ammo it drops and there happens to be a way to exploit that to our benefit. It probably should be patched, just like the loot cave, but it really isn't a glitch, per se.
If anything it's more like how the winning team in a football game can just kneel the ball a few times to run out the clock if there's not much time left. Sure, they are exploiting the play clock to be able to end the game without risking any more plays. But it's totally within the rules.
I feel the same way about cheese spots. At first I did not, but I thought they were fairly exotic. All they really are is the best cover available in those encounters. Destiny is still very much a game where utilizing cover effectively is all part of the tactics you employ so I see this as legit. It's slightly cheap, but so is making the enemies kill us nearly instantly but take nearly a full mag for even the lowliest of adds and multiple anything remotely shielded. Frankly the difficulty scaling in Destiny is the worst kind. They cheese us so we cheese back. It's kinda dull, but definitely not unintended. Though some cheese spots get nerfed a bit if they are too good. Of course most cheese spots are also exploiting the fairly weak AI. That's not necessarily a complaint. These enemies were never designed to be intelligent. That's not the point. They all serve basically the same purposes as goomba's and koopa troopa's in Super Mario, (with the addition of being loot pinatas.) Of course they are simple. We're supposed to learn their patterns and exploit them. And when you make simplistic enemies tough to kill and extremely deadly we will gravitate to the maximally safest tactics... AKA cheese.
That's not to say there aren't exploits I would frown upon using to some extent. For example glitching through the map. On the one hand I don't care and it's kind of neat to explore like that so I've really got no problem there. Using it to finish nightfalls and stuff seems less cool. Using it in PvP is pretty bad mojo, though.

PS. Work's a pain. May or may not have time tonight, because my schedule is changing so I can't stay up late. On the other hand I'll be getting home earlier. Maybe tomorrow or something if I can't make it tonight...

Actually, that makes me wonder...would you consider these cool or not cool? Obviously some of these no longer exist. 1. Crota Abyss lamp launch 2. Crota Abyss rock jump 3. Crota Bridge "sword fly" across the gap instead of building the bridge to cross 4. Strike boss cheese spots (they're all different takes on the same thing, no reason to list individually) 5. AOE grenades to push Templar/Atheon off the map 6. Shooting Oracles from up top against Templar 7. Crota Bridge jumping to the top of the map to snipe across the gap 8. Shooting ammo boxes multiple times with a "shoot to loot" weapon 9. Purposefully dumping all ammo, then killing with Icebreaker to force heavy ammo to drop 10. Disconnecting vs Crota to keep him kneeling at all times 1. Okay as long as your team agrees! There is nothing more annoying then wanting to play crota for your daily destiny fix, only to find out that one of the most fun and teambuilding experiences of the raid will be ruined because one guy has the "look at me" syndrome. 2. See 1 3. Depends what your team wants to do, but I think this is not a big deal 4.only for Nightfall strikes. Though you should try to do them legit someday, it is actually awesome! 5. Only to get to the secret chest, and if your team agrees. Killing it is often less time consuming and way more fun 6. Yeah sure, but again, now with lvl 32, try it the legit way. Loads of fun! 7. I have never been there, but it is in the same ballpark as warlock self res I suppose. Do it if you are in a hurry 8. I am totally fine with that, nobody will have any negative result out of this. Enjoy that niche you build 9.I am on the fence in this one, although it is great fun, I hope they fix it, but not too soon 10. Hah gaaaay In general, make sure everyone is having fun when you cheese. I know some of you have grown utterly bitter with this game. But some ppl actually play it for fun first and loot second. (esp since everyone has 90% + off all the things you can get) try a VoG hard run without any cheese for example. It is great fun

“The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.” "The opportunity to secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself." "What is essential in war is victory, not prolonged operations." "With regard to PRECIPITOUS HEIGHTS, if you are beforehand with your adversary, you should occupy the raised and sunny spots, and there wait for him to come up" "With regard to NARROW PASSES, if you can occupy them first, let them be strongly garrisoned and await the advent of the enemy" “What the ancients called a clever fighter is one who not only wins, but excels in winning with ease.” “Hence the skillful fighter puts himself into a position which makes defeat impossible, and does not miss the moment for defeating the enemy.”

Great read, but the guy who wrote that...doesn't really mean what he says. He's just suffering from some dumb short term lapse of reasoning, getting sucked into the 'feel good bro' moment of helping someone. Cumbaya dumb sh1t. Trust me, if the new DLC came out tomorrow, he would be RIGHT BACK grinding in his old manner, obsessing about getting everything and being all anal retentive again.

Disconnecting vs Crota to keep him kneeling at all times Most all the above are kind of insulting to the game and a bit stupid with how it plays. A testament to bad gaming design...but IMHO, every single one of them is fair game. Why not? You are playing Bungie AI. If there is an exploit, cheese or glitch that beats the AI, it's all fair game. I don't see Crota offering up apologies when it's dumb AI sometimes glitches swords in the ground and other things that wreck perfect runs. Do we the players get a break on that stuff? Fvck no. We lost valuable time. So why should players give any ground, under some dumb honor code of fair play? It's AI. Not PvP. There is honor with AI. So I think it's most definitely fair game, especially when ALSO considering how Bungie uses that AI to royally hose players with screwed up loot drops. If the game is going to continually make waste time doing Nightfalls, getting crap-azz rewards like a bunch of shards I no longer need....then I am going to recoup my 'time lost' by cheesing, glitching and exploiting everything Bungie does.

Fun, yet busy night... a first 2 steps on the Crota hard (I think) got me RMats to upgrade my boots to 36, another Deathsinger mantle and gloves, which once I max out will take me to level 32!
From Septic System, did 2 nightfalls (or 3) and 2 weeklies... got another Claws of the Dire Ahamkara, a coiled hiss pulse rifle, extra coins

Most of Destiny is player vs game rather than player vs player. There also is no marketplace. For the most part I don't see anything morally objectionable about using exploits or even glitches in PvE. I do think relying on them will actually hurt the player's own and perhaps others enjoyment of the game. (For example, glitching past the lamps instead of playing them can hurt players who want to actually play that segment of CE if they can't find people willing to do it.) It also can impact PvP if players use glitches to obtain an unfair advantage in acquiring high quality gear. The key there is how fair or unfair it is and how much in spirit of the game, ect... This is where I have more of an objection to things like glitching through the map. Generally I don't care, and it looks like fun to go exploring that way. But, I also don't think it should really be abused to acquire things, because you are definitely going outside of intended game design here, and I don't just mean in an emergent gameplay sort of way. Glitching through the map is something you pretty obviously shouldn't be able to do. But there are millions of us, so of course we have found glitches Bungie hasn't addressed.
Anyway... I'm on the new schedule now. Hopefully time for Destiny tonight.

If Bungie can have Crota or Atheon glitch us out on a perfect Raid run....
...then we should be able to return the favor and glitch out when the opportunity comes back to us.
Fair is fair.

Yeah my first cheese was Valus Ta'aurc because I shot him when he appeared and realised he was immune to my damage whilst attacking me so I found the boxes that people hide behind. The difference was I found it by jumping up and over the outer box rather than dropping down from the ramp. It's the same with Borderlands 2 with me, the only boss I cheesed was Badassasaurus Rex because it's an epic bullet sponge.

I really hope you dont extend this kind of logic into real live. Anyhow, bungie is not deliberately screwing things up, we are. That is a pretty big difference. Other then that, you are not screwing back bungie with glitches, they really don't care if you get to lvl 32 a week earlier. You could be screwing your fellow guardians experience though (depends on the glitch)

Soloed Nightfall 3 times tonight, had a lot of fun (surprisingly, did not expect that) despite having done this strike many times. I guess what have made it feel relatively fresh this time is the usage of Fang of Ir Yut / Patience & Time combo (and Black Hammer for Devilwalker of course). With Arc Burn, Fan can one shot the red health enemies. With the highest zoom scope, it also feels like a mini-sniper-rifle. With both Fang and P&T having Third Eye, and Fang having the green highlight feature, the entire raid feels like an entertaining hunting trip. Also use the opportunity to farm glimmer and Mote of Lights.
RNG gave me the same combos as the last a few weeks: 1 exotic, 1 legendary, and currency/materials:
First run -> Red Hand IX (it has similar profile as Fatebringer, without Firefly of course. The stability is worse, but mine has a perk to significantly increase stability. Mag size = 10. Looks usable) Second run -> Starfire Protocol with max Intellect at 170 Third run -> 10 coins

BTW, my plan of exploiting the infinite heavy ammo glitch using Crux of Crota got stopped cold on its tracks right at the opening minute, when I completely forgot that I should avoid any loot on the ground and accidentally walked over an innocent green stuff on the ground and picked up a crappy pulse rifle

The infinite heavy ammo glitch can be done really infinitely if you put 10 exotics in your primary slot. Sorry for being to late, read it on reddit the other day. I still don't have a crux, but I love handcannons to much I think

hmmm I just exploited this glitch in a permanent fashion using this guy's trick... The best bit is you don't need Crux... videoVery fun running around with rockets and no need to fear picking up a random engram. I tested this out and completed some roc strikes with no issue.

When did you use your commendation to get to max level? We were talking about glitching/cheesing through raid/nightfall to get to those end game rewards. Other then that, good point actually, because you could have made the same point about introducing another upgrade material. I think they did it because they wanted to limit the advantage people had playing extensively pre DLC. Seems logical to me to have some sort of mechanic to equalize the player base for a tiny bit when new content launches. A divided community is no good for anyone. I for one am glad they introduced something like that. Buying all armour from day one in a RPG game is no fun at all.

Whereas the Commendation system could slow down your progress from getting to level 31 to make Crota's End HM easier than jumping in as a level 30. If they didn't want to divide the Community they could at least use separate rotations for people with DLC so when the Weekly Heroic and Nightfalls are Omnigul/Randal the Vandal, players without DLC are not without something meaningful to do.

So a " we don't want to divide the community so we start dividing the community" kind of thing?
