Gears of War are still trying to get involved in the eSports area despite Judgment having mixed reviews? One of the reasons why Gears of War veterans did not like Judgment were multiplayer changes that were made to cater to eSports to start with.

Just watched game 2 of H1Z1 Invitational at TwitchCon during lunch, the "Hunger Game" style is very entertaining to watch. This game has great eSports potential IMHO. Another interesting fact: Ninja, Halo pro player and the only one from console side, won the first game

World championship only on PS4. If I recall correctly, Call of Duty Elite held competitions for both Xbox and PS. Did Blops2 League Play exist on the PS version? Anyway, what a shame. I never liked this playing favorites nonsense. At least it'll be easier pickings on the Xbone I guess. My pals better not jump ship to PS4 after I got the Xbone. #PubstarLife Does this mean HSV1 is moving to PS now?

Glad that you will be soon There is no HSV1 right now, it's mostly dead. Not so much due to problems with friendships or issues....but just no players, period. Most everyone hated the game. CoD-AW pretty much cleaned out the entire clan. Started last year with 60 to 80 people in & around the clan...and by April, were down to maybe 20 to 25 people who were actually playing. We were doing clan wars, went 6-0 initially, got to 10th in the world, #1 in our bracket by March/April...but then BeachHead decided to cancel out the season, and start over. Do a 're-do'. Most everyone was like..."WTF, why bother anymore". Within a month, I think only about five people were still playing AW. I stopped playing AW last June? Maybe before? I've never seen an exodus of players leave a CoD game like that, going back to MW1. In fact, I don't even recall ever seeing it with any game, period. I can count on one hand the number of people who actually said they liked it.

We can come back with fresh blood and better than ever in terms of infecting the world with HSV1 ( Honor, Strength, Victory, United Army As 1) On related news: Beachead has stepped down from managing Clan Wars. Treyarch has something brewing on the "social gaming" front that hopefully directly tied into the game, but nothing has been revealed yet.

yeah, I have been following it on Twitter, as well as talking to a couple dozen other clans and leaders.
#saveclanwars
The problem is, it's not worth saving. The present system has run it's course and it's pretty much gutted. I could write an entire essay on what went wrong, but just not worth it.

I have high hopes of what 3arc will be offering, because: 1) they had 3 years to develop the game, that's more than enough time for adding direct in-game support of "social gaming", a more and more crucial aspect of AAA games; 2) Beachhead were just implementing a stop gap. Despite their genuine efforts, slap Clan Wars on something developed by a different company is just not how tight integration can work out; 3) Lots of lessons are learnt from Clan Wars, which is more than enough as a beta for the in-game support; Let's see how it would turn out...

agree, let's see.
On a side note, as you are already well aware, I opted out of getting the Taken King for Destiny. I really wanted to play it, but I just really feared getting sucked back in...all the stuff I mentioned before. So I didn't do it. Just couldn't pull the trigger. Oh well. I've taken some time off, and hopefully can find some renewed interest in Halo and BO3. I am still playing one other game too..."The Golf Club". I'm not even a golfer, and I'm still loving this game.

I am definitely preordering Halo 5 (once I decide on Standard vs. Deluxe), but I plan to hold off on BLOP3 because I still feel burnt by the numerous crashes I had to endure during beta. Besides, I need to give Halo some dedicated play time, not to mention Destiny is like a high maintenance GF that requires constant attention...

Adding another "GF"....not good. To be fair: you don't have to treat destiny that way It can be like a "date night", which you do once a week and move on to other stuff... As a matter of fact, there is hope that I can get into that mode right before Halo 5 starts: just do raid every week, and everything else are completely optional.

After that we were struggling to fill teams, almost every single war were playing down to the point it made me question why we even bothered lol.

BO3 beta was straight up unplayable. Spent more time crashing, and attempting to set up parties then actually playing the game. The moment you actually survived the crashes and ventured into the game itself you were hit lag after lag after lag

To be clear, I did have a blast with BLOP3 beta despite the crashes, which completely turned me around from NO-BUY to MUST-BUY. I am just not gonna ge it on launch week because it is only 1 week after Halo so I don't have time for it anyway, so why not wait for a few days/weeks until I am sure that the game is well polished and stable, especially when the pre-order bonus is not something I care much about (Nuketown remake).

We were in the big clan division (70+, 55+, etc..)for about half of CoD ghosts, but then it just became to hard to make work. I think with COD-AW, BeachHead pretty much dropped all the bigger divisions this past summer. What's the biggest now? 36 people?

Formerly known as Homicidal Gaming before shit went down and the clan adopted a new name Ya... about 2/3 through the cycle and beachhead up and closes out our division lol Overall my dealings with clanwar was eye opening. Very shady shit going down behind the scenes, multiple clans running low spm accounts to pile up the wins... which goes against everything I stand for

Great clan there. We never matched up with you, but we did compete against a lot of top clans: Lethal Gaming, FUF, SOW, etc...and a number of other top clans. We finished 16th overall with Ghosts, and were like 12th (around there) overall in AW, before just quitting mid season. Had enough with the process. A very interesting experience overall. I think mostly good, but then ended poorly. The system had a lot of potential, but unfortunately, BH studios just didn't understand how competition works. Great programmers, but that's where it ended.

Halo 5 REQ microtransactions are more lucrative than I thought. 200K are added to the prize pool in just 2 weeks: www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/community/halo-championship-series1.7 mil prize pool and counting. The pool will continue to grow until the finals in March, 2016. Looks like it has a pretty good chance to crack 2 million, especially with tournament specific REQs (weapon skins, armor set, and emblem).

I heard that Sony, now that they are the official sponsors of the CoD World Championships next April, are upping their prize money too. It's rumored that not only will the winners of it all get a brand new MLG 'bro' version of the PS4....but get this, winners will ALSO get a Black Ops 3 mini-fridge too. No, serious there, they are going to give out the mini-fridge too. Halo is going to have to step up there game with Sony now at the helm.

In all seriousness, this is like an arm race. I am sure ATVI (I don't expect much from Sony, which is struggling financially) will step up and provide prize pool parity on CoD championship.

Activision? lol The company that charges $1.99 for snoop dog's in game chat voice? Activision is going to throw that right back on Sony's lap.

Big weekend in the eSports world, both BLOPS3 and Halo5 's "World Championship" have officially kicked off, with BLOPS3 having LAN qualifiers all over the world, and Halo 5 running online ladders (OK because of dedicated servers).
On Prize Pool side of things: Halo fans have already contributed > 1 million to the Crowd Funding by buying REQ packs, push the prize pool to 2 million and growing.
