Played about an hour of online play today, and a few hours of private matches against bots last night.
I am only going to be playing this this year. IW beta was actively not fun, this is the most fun I've had playing CoD in a long time.

The question is well it be sustainable for a year for the general population. The only ones who play CoD4 today are the hardcores on PC. Obviously, the CaC items should be good and it looks like they'll support the game, but I'm wondering if meta will be enough for everyone with the fixed killstreaks. I haven't been following too closely, have they hinted they gonna change that up in the future?

So is this is a good or bad buy? For the Friday 12:01 release. I looked online, three packages. I suppose the Infinite Warfare game is ok, but I can't say I'm really into it. I didn't even get the beta when it was out. No interest in playing ahead of time. I am mildly interested in the MW1 remix, but I have to buy IW, to get to it? $80 in all? Price isn't a huge issue here (i can easily afford it), it's more the principle of things. I feel I was ripped off last year with BO3, how I bought the season pass and by the time the maps came out, i was mostly done playing the game. It was a waste. That plus the whole pay to play lottery bullshit.
What's the verdict here? I don't have time to look it up. Buy? Don't Buy? Buy TitanFall?
1. Standard edition - $60 - IW
2. Legacy edition - $80 - IW + MW1 Remix
3. Legacy Pro edition - $120 - IW + MW1 Remix + free Terminal Map + Season Pass + other shit

Actually looks like you can find it for just $48.99 on PC... hmm... I DO wish MW1 Remaster were affordable. I'd like to play that, but even I was pretty much done with BO3 by the time the 2nd DLC came out. I'm really not interested in IW so, meh...

The DLC was a joke with BO3. With the DLC delay on XB1, the maps and stuff were really pushed back. By the time the second map pack (of four) came out, i was pretty much done with the game. I had finished all the camos, characters, guns, etc.. I don't think I even saw the last two sets of maps. Wasn't the last set of maps (on XB1) in Sept? Way to late. So i never used them. I ended up paying $50 (or $60) for what was four maps. That's a rip off. It's bullshit business practices. Combine that with the lottery bs, killed my interest to soon.

Wait, you didn't play the beta? Uh, the general consensus is that it's bad (I didn't like it), a couple here like it though. You can chance it, but it's more or less BO4 in the AW world with a Ghosts/AW engine. Supply Drops are there, though you can buy weapon variants directly. Lots of random deaths. If you didn't like BO3, them this wouldn't be a magic fixer. Up to you though.
The principle aspect is 100% right and if you don't want to chance, wait a couple months for MWR to be released alone. Activision would probably charge 30-40 bucks though, I'll bet.

Yeah... BO3 started off pretty cool, but they started screwing it up pretty quick. The BS weapon drops really sucked and it definitely sucked a lot of the fun out once there were enough melee weapons to negate the positive effect of melee attacks being a 2 hit kill... I sure as hell wasn't paying money to play the lottery either. That's strait up BS. Then the camos and even maps and other things just started getting even more stupid and it just let all the air out of the game. I have zero interest in shooting gingerbread men off of cakes and soda cans...
If I could go back and play preDLC/weapon drops BO3 I'd prolly still fire it up. They actively took a good game and made it bad...

Content-wise, the digital deluxe edition is best value ever done for the franchise, since all the DLC is $20. That said, DLC is a lost cause in CoD. Used to be important back in the Modern Warfare days, but now it's just a tacked-on shitfest that introduces more connection issues and has limited use, especially the later drops.

Looks like you have to download the whole thing to go online fully. You can do custom games with bots though. Bog only.
Check your settings. Like IW, two sensitivity settings and reversed button layouts.
Juggernaut is as gay as ever. Prepare to piss yourself off with the hitmarkers. I had it restricted.
Bots need to be redone or toned down. Recruit is much sterner than in previous games. You'll find you'll get targeted right away a lot. I did Regular and it was ridiculous.
Spawns are the new-aged logic. You'll notice it instantly on Bog.
Sniping will be the cornerstone in this game. New engine/physics, but you'll adjust to scoping in right away. I was dragscoping for streaks and feeds. I hope they don't patch it.
Will also need to play with hipfiring and Steady Aim because I was getting a little more noscopes than I thought I would normally get (1-2 meters out) without it.
God, it's too easy to sprint with the Dualshock controller. Running cancels reloading like the past, but you'll cancel unintentionally a lot.

USE STEADY AIM WHEN SNIPING. It's like the old days.
The airstrike chains into new streaks even if used on a new life like CoD4. Expect the chopper race meta. That said, the chopper seems to suck in this game. Can bareky average a kill on Bog, even with lots of enemy bots running around. It'll take no time at all for LMG scrubs to shoot it down. The biggest threat will be the airstrike.

I got to play online matches finally.
I rate CoD4 9/10, but most others who laud it don't know what the hell they talk about and they mostly let nostalgia cloud their judgement and not acknowledge the problems. Typically, the same people who like Treyarch games. The guys on YT and shit, who hadn't touched the game in years.
They really did model this to the original. That includes the negatives. Constant killstreak loops, especially the UAVs. I don't mind it in CoD4, but when you add the bad spawns here and an unknown connection status, it'll get you killed over and over again. The grenade spam is back in full force and you'll constantly die to guys hiding around a corner or tenting around in spawns. Running and gunning is extremely difficult here with the average draw time. If you have an assault rifle, you won't stand a chance, even when hipfiring. This game is a campfest. Guys named Lopez or Rodrigo everywhere relying on UAVs to the point where UAV Jammer sounds appealing. But of course, using that costs Stopping Power or Juggernoob. Regardless of choice, you'll have to slow your pace. Unfortunately, it can lead you to camp because putting too much distance between you and the edge will allow enemies to spawn behind you. You'll quickly find the guys going 20-5 in a match are the ones who say in one spot watching spawn points.
Didn't have fun. Will try again tomorrow. Maybe more people will be on, so better connections. Something was really off tonight. You can't do shit, because you can't see the ping search like the old IW games and for whatever reason, there's no ping bars. Like Ghosts, probably to keep everyone in the dark.
Some suckers had to go in before everyone else. If you have any reservations about spending too get these, don't do it. It's not worth it. Wait for a general consensus or some patches.

The lack of any connection status in MWR is ridiculous. And graphically something just seems... really off with the PS4 version, washed out and really hard to see, which is pretty annoying considering the headglitch factor. It better look real nice on PS4 Pro next week.

Is the sound off for anyone else compared to original COD4? Seems like some things are really quiet, much more then I remember.
Mind you before BO3 I played exclusively on PC, but now I play on PS4 for the increased playerbase. So it could have to do with the switch to console.

-I forgot how all the maps play and am getting destroyed. I am used to the new pew-pew jumpy jumpjump style of play and am running around like an idiot, not how COD4 plays.
-RPD is grand, as it was. Half a clip kills the heli, I thought I remember it being more...
-Shipment! The new (old) Nuketown
-Sabotage! Finally!
-the meta game definitely shows its age. Very simplistic. MW2 really improved a lot of this stuff. But still fun.
-it is mostly the original voice-actors except for new things like kill confirmed where they needed new voices
If you're on PC for Remastered...why? Fire up the old COD4, its x1000 times better and has players
