The shots don't veer off 20 feet to the side. A decent amount of them end up close to the middle of the crosshairs.
After an hour on it today, it gets my stamp of disapproval. Spawns are complete trash, and you'll get melted by one bullet it seems. Dudes skip and stutter around at close range and will get the jump on you even when you know they're coming and are aiming down the sights. The only map that played remotely similar to the original was Ambush. Get a silencer and patrol the right side.
Everybody camps and it's real hard to see since guess behind cover, or even out in the open sometimes. This is exactly why I didn't want them to remake instead of improving what was already there. They'd screw it up.

Well try again later tonight after work. Only did TDM, so dunno if objectives makes it better. Looked at Twitched and it seems everyone there is on Domination. Probably because TDM is unplayable.

PSIII, give it time for the servers to normalize, some of what is ruining it for you is the unstable lag we have every other minute right now. Other than that, the rest are just opinions, I'm loving it, it is as good and frustrating as it was 9 years ago. I'll give you the spawns, they may have messed with that a bit it seems.

We all know that if they balance guns, millions of people would complain about it even though it would improve the game (assuming they need balancing; never played cod4)

People expecting anything different at this point deserve what they get. Treyarch is the only semi-competent CoD PC dev left. edit: I should also throw in that Raven mentioned that there were no plans for mod tools before release which should have raised a million red flags about how they were going to handle the PC version of the game.

I became a soundwhore in MW2, so I never realized how useless footsteps are in this game unless I am forgetting some soundwhore perk. I see no point in dead silence.
I find the old maps really refreshing even though I am getting owned because I forget all the power spots. How did these old maps with no rocket jumping have more verticality and more (fun) complexities than the new rocket jumping maps we have? I miss these old map devs.

You can just barely hear a goof sprinting at you from a few feet away on cage match with the volume turned way up. Compare that to original cod 4 where you can easily hear someone with or without dead silence in the exact same scenario.

Had high hopes for this game to be honest. Was looking forward to CoD 4's rebirth but this game falls way short. -Unoptimized as hell (though it actually runs okay on my system) -No way of seeing your ping -Pillow shoes, sound whoring is impossible -Only 10 maps, and no Bloc, Showdown, or Strike -No dedicated servers or server lists -PC community is divided between people who bought the game on the Windows 10 Store (lol) and Steam. Just let that sink in for a sec My first CoD purchase since Black Ops 2, and I feel ripped off. If I had a current gen console I might have gotten it for that instead, but I couldn't bring myself to spend $480.00 plus tax and online fees just for one game. The PC version of this game is pointless given the original has dedicated servers, mod tools, 4k support, etc. CoD 4 on PC is pretty deserted with nothing but "Tactical" crouch-only/Hardcore servers. Also PunkBuster sucks fat peter.

Not sure why people hate on footstep sounds that much in Call of Duty given the strong emphasis on visual intel in the game. To me it seems slightly hypocritical to play a game that has allowed stuff like the Blackbird/VSAT, UAV spam, and prevent Blind Eye users from being invisible to player controlled streaks, optics that can wallhack, and gimp guns significantly using a suppressor because the players rely on radar too much. If the game has an abundance of visual aids, then people will expect the same for audio cues no?

So why are they unwilling to balance things like guns and perks butt willing to balance audio awareness? If you're going to nerf sound at least buff shotguns as they're clearly willing to meddle with the meta.

Well it's a direct nerf to dead silence. Imagine if stopping power only increased damage by 1% in MWR Vs the old 40%. It's simply not faithful to the original.If you're going to make such large changes in the meta why won't they adjust other mechanics?
It's deliberate as when Ghosts was out one of the lead devs tweeted he was highly disappointed in the audio department for making footsteps too good in giving people the edge. Which is somewhat ironic, in CoD4 classic you could sounwdhore with ipod earbuds butt in MWR you need a hi-end head set cranked making giving an even larger advantage to those with expensive headsets as nerfing sound only increases the dollar break-point in capitalizing on audio awareness.

So the original did have better sound? I couldn't remember. Well they need to fix that pronto then. Dead silence is truly useless.
This game is about as complicated as rock paper scissors, and nerfing sound is taking away scissors.
In other news I am eschewing my ancient ways of stopping power on every class and trying UAV Jammer. With the current UAV spam and how everyone is basically running stopping power, it's the current market inefficiency. Nobody expects the Spanish UAV Jamming Inquisition!

So far connection is not the same, controls are clunky and the auto aim, which you can't turn off is annoying. Will yank your grenade throws offline, even if the enemy is 50 yards away.

You can turn it off I think, it's just separated into two settings for some reason.
Is it just me or is the m16 seem like a one shot kill sometimes? Has to be kill feed weirdness because it isn't when I use it...
