Oh man. That was...absolutely amazing. I feel like a better person somehow. We need more people playing this. The new titan kits are awesome. Legion is best titan for titan vs titan imo, but Pegasus was putting in work with Tone. Here is my highest damage of the night: xboxdvr.com/gamer/Post%20IXI%20Mortem/screenshot/5113895

Haven't even tried the MP yet - too busy having sex with this campaign. I absolutely recommend you play it on "Master" or at least "Hard". I heard the default difficulty is way too easy - reviewers were finishing the campaign in 4 hours on it. I'm pushing 10 hours now on "Master" and I have no idea how much campaign is left.
Being a spade, I love exploring. And this campaign not only allows that - it greatly encourages it (with the hunt for the "pilot helmets"). These campaign levels are HUGE outside of the linear story path - I definitely ended up in several places that I was not supposed to, and glitched under/out of the map a few times.

Well, I'm loving the fuck out of this.
It even runs better than the first game. I was worried that I would finally have to upgrade this five year old graphics card, as it was having trouble playing the first game smoothly.

I'm loving the crap out of this game. They pretty much made everything better.
If anyone wants to stomp ever living crap out of people with me, feel free to add "TheTJY" on Origin. I'm usually playing around the time this post is made. I'll maybe set up a Denkirson Network on PC so we can play more easily together. (IDK what is the true purpose of the "Network". It seems to put people into the same lobby before searching for games eg. right now you probably belong to "Advocate" network that has almost everyone in it)
P.S I think Legion needs some kind of a nerf. I've been using him with legitbeastin and I've been taking down 2-4 titans in each titan life. His minigun's DPS is absolutely ridiculous against titans and it kills pilots trivially.

The Vanguard class titan is my favourite XD
I think it would be cool if they DLC released the other two Titan loadouts from the campaign:
Expedition (chaingun) and Brute (Quad Rockets)

P.S I think Legion needs some kind of a nerf.I've been taking down 2-4 titans in each titan life. His minigun's DPS is absolutely ridiculous against titans and it kills pilots trivially. I was thinking along these same lines yesterday. Legion with dash perk is just amazing for LTS. He excels at every range. At long range he deals super safe chip damage with the gun shield by burning down particle walls/sword blocks and waiting for gun shield charges. Find cover ->put on gun shield->come out of cover->Unload gun->dash back into cover. Completely removes the shield's immobility drawback. At chose range he melts face with the shotgun mode and the shotgun ability actually makes a really powerful flanker because of it. You can hold down long sightlines against multiple titans or rush. That is what makes him soooo good. However, today I faced a couple good ions. Turns out that ion's kit hardcounters Legion. I decided to try ion out again. Here is what I learned: Vortex shield is key. In the long range chip damage game that legion usually excels at, Ion can shield all of that stuff and peck at the spots around legion's gunshield with the shoulder laser. The spin up of the predator cannon and loss of mobility is too big a tell for any smart ion player. Ion's vortex shield also lasts longer than gun shield which means you win the waiting game as ion. Up close is even worse for Legion. That shotgun shot that typically wrecks titans can really backfire. I reflected a few of these and immediately got my laser core. You can also outspace Legion with the trip wire since Legion has to spin up to even deal with them properly. So yeah... I changed my mind. Legion is still very very strong, but not broken because he has a strong counter that has an independently strong kit (and probably the strongest core). It's pretty cool, because I noticed as ion I was having trouble against other titans (specifically good tones) that I didn't as legion. Could this be a sign of good balance?

Sell you on it... sell you on it.... Ok hebbnh, sure. Games last like 10 minutes. So you can tell the wife "hey, be there in 10 minutes" and to us "ok guys this is my last one" and everybody is happy. Also I mean surely you saw in the Destiny LFG thread the rumblings of a wild wittyscorpion appearing. If that doesn't sell you on a game, what will? Oh man. That was...absolutely amazing. I feel like a better person somehow. We need more people playing this. The new titan kits are awesome. Legion is best titan for titan vs titan imo, but Pegasus was putting in work with Tone. Here is my highest damage of the night: xboxdvr.com/gamer/Post%20IXI%20Mortem/screenshot/5113895My highlight round: xboxdvr.com/gamer/Pegasus%20Actual/video/22945145#t=20~31k damage. Credited with 5 titan kills, and 5 pilot kills. A clean sweep, I doubt that ever happened for me in Titanfall 1. And in about 90 seconds. I literally earned my second salvo core SEVEN seconds after the first ended. The opponents weren't even completely terrible, they were competent enough to smack us down in the 4v5 opening round. Tone is supremely satisfying. Her mechanics are just sublime. The sonar pulse, the tracker round locks... followed up with the tracker rockets... the salvo core. They all feel amazing. I do feel very outmatched when facing a half decent Legion though. My particle wall feels like paper against the predator cannon. The cannon's shield is like a reinforced bunker. And even when I'm past that and doing damage... there's just so much health to chip through. Really only salvo core makes a decent dent, and that leaves me exposed to a full mag of predator ammo at best, and potentially the endless smart cannon core thing which will just finish me. Legion is the only titan I'll run from 1v1 with Tone.

Finally finished the campaign on Master. I'll have to go back and pick up the helmets I missed (always do my first playthrough without any guides). I have to say - this is without a doubt the absolute best FPS campaign I have played in my entire life. Like, I enjoyed it even more than Borderlands, and it shits all over Kevin Spacey COD (the best COD campaign). The platforming puzzles are my favourite, some levels felt a lot like playing Portal. And the key to gun battles on Master is to MOVE FAST. Like, keep yourself above 30-40 kph and you won't get hit too often. If you try the camp-and-cover COD style, you'll still be able to get through, but you'll die a lot and need to retry many parts. But the boss fights, on Master, oh my! You'll die over and over trying to figure them out, but it's not bullshit random deaths like other games - it's that you are not using the winning strategy. The key is remembering that BT can change loadouts on the fly. For the final boss fight (vs Sloan), you'll want to be switching between at least two, maybe three different loadouts. I had the most success using Scorch when enemies are clustered close together (and on the Reaper wave), then either Tone or Legion for ranged damage when I have Sloan all alone. Once my core ability is ready, I would switch over to Ronin and dash in for a Sword Core (seems to pump out the most damage the quickest). Phase dash behind her as soon as she turns to shoot you and unload your shotgun, then switch to someone with Vortex shield to back the Foxtrot away behind cover before the Laser Cores your ass. Back to Tone/Legion to build up that core ability again. Be conservative with the limited, on-map batteries! Only grab one if you are below 50% health with no shield IMO. You'll accidentally be grabbing some from enemies you take out. I sure hope they do some paid campaign DLC an IMC-perspective campaign would be bonerific. I'm more excited for Titanfall 3's story than I am for the next season of Game of Thrones.

Well, my favorite weapons so far are the L-STAR and the Sidewinder SMR. Both wacky projectile weapons in a game full of lethal hitscans. Just like the old days, I'll pick up a more conventional rifle or whatever else from a Grunt or enemy pilot and stick that in the secondary slot.
The AT weapons and sidearms don't really feel like they're worth a gosh darn golly gee whiz, but I do love the P2016. Feels like the kind of gun that will go underrated.

I have played a lot of tone, and he is simply awesome. I love the mechanics. He seems quite potent, but does have a pretty high skill cap, but then I tried legion. Legion is just easy mode. I don't know if I would call him OP, but he is just hold a button and win, unless you have a very very good opponent. Quite boring TBH. I feel like his long range DPS needs to be lower.
I haven't really tried the stryder chassis too much, but I couldn't really get them to work for me. Especially northstar seems outclassed by tone. Flying is nice and dandy, but without any form of shield/defence, you are just a flying duck.
All in all loving this, but every single time I switch to another titan then Tone, it feels like I am gimping myself (except for legion, but he is just too Foxtroting boring). I did come up against some really really strong ronin players the other day, but for some reason, I can't really get him to work. Seems like a vs pilot titan primarily, with sword core to finish of titans.
I should really give ION a go though, like Dumien said, he might be quite potent and fun after all. He seems quite hard to master, with the managing of energy etc.
What titan kits are you guys using?
I used the extra dash on every single on of them (I really feel like they should have 1/2/3 standard tbh). And the more misles mod on tone, more ammo on legion, and penetration on northstar (in last titan standing it is quite useful to shoot through friendlies)

Ronin is a good filthy attrition farmer. His shotgun is by far the best pilot killing weapon in the game, I usually rack up 5-10 pilot kills per Ronin I call in. But VS titans he is just so-so. I mean, you can phase in and rip apart a whole group of enemy titans with sword core, but it's a kamikaze move every single time.
Here's how I'd rank all of the titans:
ION: good all-rounder Scorch: okay all-rounder Ronin: best vs AI/pilots, okay vs titans Northstar: bad Tone: great vs titans & good vs AI/pilots (best all-round) Legion: best vs titans & okay vs AI/pilots

When I first tried Northstar i was quite impressed, then the next few rounds I got destroyed. Then I thought I'll give her another go and on the right maps done pretty well but definitely not as easy to use as the others. Just writing that made a thought pop in my head, I think Northstar has got one star difficulty and Legion has three so seems a bit backwards to me.
I seem to be getting the maps from the tech test a lot, I think I have only played another four or five maps, but I'm quite happy with them all. After the tech test I was worried I wouldn't like the maps I am having some trouble wallrunning though. By the way does anybody know how many maps there are.
On a different note has anyone had a Sonar Blade kill yet I was pretty pleased with myself last night as I was trying to get a kill with it as a bonus to it's ability I never had much success in CoD with the axe or throwing knife. Even if i try really hard now I may never get another one.

Yeah I gave Ronin a few more chances, and he is actually quite good, against both titans and pilots. The empty shotgun + arc wave + phase dash behind them + empty shotgun move is really really strong. You WILL lose health though, but this titan is meant to be a glass cannon. The faster a titan dies, the sooner you can earn your new one I guess. Scorch is not bad either. The projectile range and arc need some getting used to, but after that, he is pretty strong. Especially against Tone and Legion who like to stand in one place behind their shields, burning their firepower. I gave Northstar another go, and while he has some uses, he just really needs a better defensive ability. The rail gun is actually really strong compared to TF1, because titans have no shields, and we all know what a cluster missile can do. But having 3 health bars without any form of defense sucks, oh, and does anybody have any idea how to use flight core? All the missiles travel so gosh darn golly gee whiz slow barely any of them hit their target, unless you are within melee range. Oh, and I got a sweet ass gooser with the railgun yesterday... Too bad that challenge doesn't exist anymore I think your list Will is pretty decent. I would place Scorch in line with ION, as he has better crowd control abilities for bounty hunt and attrition. I also think Legion is better against pilots then Tone (at least on console), and northstar is bad except for very very specialist use (been wrecked by a team of 3 nothstars and 2 legions in last titan standing in boomtown. They kept potshotting up with hover, while the legions set up in chokepoints. p.s. for anybody who does not know, it really pays off to play every titan, weapon and faction until level 5 (4 for faction). Weapons/faction/titans are really easy to level up in lower levels, and when you level them you gain additional merits (=xp). lazy I have gotten 3 in one game Was wrecking with the mastiv and tried sonar blade. I kept chasing enemies out of my range of fire, and threw a quick blade in their back. Really suck with these kind of things normally as well, so was kind of proud of myself ^_^. Really love playing this game again.

Nice work qupie with the Sonar Knife, and thanks for the leveling up tip I do try to mix it up a bit anyway but that will encourage me a bit more.
I was a little underwhelmed by the tech test but I too am loving this game, I'm even looking forward to having a good go of the campaign which I never even tried on CoD, except for about half an hour on BO1 when PSN was down and the same on Kevin Spacey CoD as it was supposed have a great campaign, I got bored before finishing the first level.

I got bored at the start of the Kevin Spacey campaign in AW, but probably because I hated the toturial training wheels stuff. Maybe I should give it another go... might as well try to get some of my money's worth out of the digital download... I doubt I'll ever give BO3 campaign another go, though. I loved the multiplayer... at least before they jumped the shark a few times... but man once it all went into digital simulationland in the campaign I just lost interest... as usual. That usually kills my interest in something. Assassin's Creed gets a pass because it's represented as a cross between a simulation and actual memories and thus is supposed to represent actual events. Saint's Row IV by contrast... sucked big fat donkey balls. I didn't even bother collecting and customizing vehicles... most of which were just ugly anyway. It also kept me from bothering with more than just a handful of the MGS VR missions. A game just doesn't hold my interest once it becomes something like that.
Oddly it's not so much the game within a game part that bothers me. I love playing mini games inside other games. Liar's Dice in RDR was great fun! It's just when it's this simulation and nothing you do in it has any consequences to the game's story or continuity... (not that anything ever really does in CoD campaigns anyway, but at least you have the illusion of it...) I dunno. I haven't really analyzed it all that much. I just know that once a game stops pretending to not be a game that hurts my immersion a lot but when a game starts to skip it's own context and pretends to be a simulation it kills my interest completely. By the same token I'm slightly bothered by that one Titanfall map that's represented as a training sim as well. In that case I'm willing to play it simply because it's a great game and a great map, and it's only one map in the rotation. There's also some BO3 maps that are clearly simulations, or at least one, but then I don't know if it's supposed to be training or some sort of digital battle, and again it was a decent game and only a map or two in the rotation so I could get past it.
(To be honest I was disappointed with Infection in that despite the almost Inception like look it's a pretty bog standard map. Imagine how crazy a map with a 90 degree bend in the terrain like that could be if you could actually occupy both planes. Of course that level of verticality would be unprecedented for a CoD title even if you provided lots of cover... oh well... To me putting something like that in the game and having zero affects on gameplay is a huge letdown the same as if they had put mechs in the game and only ever let you use them to walk up to the "spawn" then you'd have to jump out and could never use them for fighting. Or if there was a grappling hook but it could only grab one of two or three objects on the entire map. I already feel like the wall running was underutilized or needlessly limited on many maps. There were too many kill brushes and bits of geometry blocking wall runs, and too many maps with almost none but the extremely obvious places to wallrun. Titanfall feels like a sandbox for movement, but BO3 is more limited. Still fun, though.)
Anway... Really hope I can hop on the Titanfall 2 train before too long. I cannot wait!

Yeah, after alot of playtime I'm convinced that ion/legion/tone are all in pretty close contention and there seems to be a rock-paper-scissor thing going on. Here are my basic thoughts on LTS... Legion is probably the best for winning multiple 1 v 1s. He also has a really good kit against tone. You can melt particle walls easy. Ion has probably the best anti-pilot weapon (shoulder laser) AND hard counters legion. Tone has a really good kit against ion because the particle wall is super safe. The only thing you have to be careful about is making sure that you don't super right into a vortex shield. I feel like every team needs a good ronin for assassinations. Too many seems to be a bad plan, however. Ronin reminds of why I tried to do with big punch ogre in TF1. Get in close and just spam melees. The squishy body sucks though. As legion I have been beaten a few times by good ronins. The bad ronins will run away while sword blocking...this just means that I get my smart core AND burn through their health bar regardless of whether or not they are blocking. The smart ronins wait until I use gun shield and then teleport though me (ending up behind). With gun shield your turn radius sucks so theis is basically 3-4 free sword swings. I guess the counterplay for this is to make sure you have your back to a wall against Ronin. Scorch is mad fun. I love his kit and I really want to get good with it. Nothing beats melting titans with the flame shield and immediately getting your core. imgur.com/nujQigzNorthstar needs a tiny buff methinks. Legion does the designated sniper role much better. The super is basically "please shoot me everyone" and I always love it when I'm a pilot and I see a helpless northstar in the wild.

Ion has probably the best anti-pilot weapon (shoulder laser) While I don't want to discredit how great that shoulder laser is at killing pilots, have you used Ronin's shotgun vs pilots? One shot hipfire instantly kills any pilot on your screen... you don't even have to line them up like you do with the laser.
