I bet alot of people aren't voting because the very poorly designed UI buries the option at the bottom of the screen. It's easy to overlook. The UI really is terrible. Seems like one of those things that should not be hard to do well. You have to press L2, and then you can select the map you want to vote for. Yeah, map voting was changed to show off cosmetics.

I'm actually pretty surprised and impressed by those numbers. That's pretty close to MW2 ($550mm in the first 5 days). That revenue counts bundled season passes, so it's less total units. But to bounce back in sales like it has, and to still generate that level of excitement for the 14th game in an annualized franchise is really, really impressive.

From what I’m reading dedicated servers are still down, but they’re introducing CoD Points into WWII tomorrow!

So I decided to buy the game (a RL friend bought a ps4 and COD after I have been telling him to buy a PS4 for a year, so buying COD was the least I could do). Actually have a bit of fun so far. Some things are stupid, but all in all not the worst cod in history. The maps are fairly small, but there are plenty of routes on most maps. What do you guys reckon a rookie like me should focus on in the beginning? I have bought the BAR with my prestige token, liking it so far, although I also really like the STG I pick up on the floor from time to time. Feels like the STG is the M4 equivalent while the BAR is more of a SCAR (MW2). Tried to like the garand, but somehow it feels off just a little bit. For SMGs, I want to like them, but I have not yet found one I am super effective with. The PPSH seems to melt me, but when I use it, I get like 5? hitmarkers without a kill. Just unlocked the Type 100, and it feels decent so far. Any tips on that front? Do you use the silencer a lot? I like it because the screen flash in this game (combined with some horrible irons or the stupid double circle reflex) feels like a huge detriment. Any tips on leveling up asap? Use the same weapon or use every weapon up to lvl 5? Are there challenges I need to look to complete? Just any general guidance how to speed up the leveling would be appreciated

Shoot, get hit markers, the opponent them dropshots or bunny hops to the side making me miss on my last bullets. I was told (and I think this is the case), I'm laying down to hard on the trigger, WHILE going ADS. The ADS swivel speeds in the game are very slow (my setting is on 3), and they can't keep up with people.

Yeah I increased my sensitivity to 5 immediately after the first game. Even though I play destiny on 4. Aiming feels a little smoother in this game though IMHO.

But to bounce back in sales like it has, and to still generate that level of excitement for the 14th game in an annualized franchise is really, really impressive. It's so hard to track down real numbers these days. They hid Destiny 2's numbers amongst a bunch of soft stats. For comparison purposes. MW2 did this back in Nov of 2009. They gave us the actual units sold back then. ...." First-day sales of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 demolished entertainment industry records, selling 4.7 million copies and raking in an estimated $310 million in North America and United Kingdom alone. MW2's five days the sales were $550 million worldwide (I imagine NA and UK account for most of the sales still). So that works out to 8.5 million units sold. The game went on to sell around 23 to 24 million units during it's life cycle. The key though is this with WW2 "Activision revealed that Sledgehammer Games' new first-person shooter earned over $500 million in sell-though globally within its first three days on the market. According to the publisher's estimates, Call of Duty: WWII sales topped the three-day openings of Thor: Ragnarok and Wonder Woman combined." I think the use of sell through means Activision just sold to the suppliers, so it's technically not a final user sell rate. Because if it was a final user sale, that would seem to indicate the game is projecting to sell around $550 to $600 million over five days. That works out to around 7 to 8 million units sold. Putting this game right next to MW2, and right up there with all time sales records projecting out to do 20 to 25 million in sales. That seems a bit much? The game can't be doing that well can it? If it is a sell through number to wholesalers, that would probably mean they actually sold maybe half of that?

Pent up demand for non-spaceman CoD may have been underestimated.
I'm honestly shocked I'm playing this more than D2.

At least anecdotally (with a sample size of my own ps4 friends list) I can say there are several people besides me who currently play ww2 who also ignored the past few titles. Activision's quasi-nintendo-esque appeal to nostalgia as a marketing strategy (the ads that explicitly depict ex-players returning to the franchise, the liberal use of the phrase "return to...," etc) combined with years of accumulated space cod fatigue may have paid off.
In any case as long as digital sales figures (or a more reliable way to derive them from physical ones) remain unknown relative commercial success will be impossible to do more than speculate about.

Most of the people on my friend’s list are playing, atleast occasionally. This includes people who I haven’t seen play CoD since Ghosts. I’m not because Destiny 2 really soured me, and Hawk and Hazard aren’t playing. I also have some single player games I’ve been needing to get to.

For AR's I like the STG, for SMG's I like the Grease Gun, which I initially hated.
The railgunners are back and really turning me off. I thought these developers in the previous few iterations had more or less solved that issue on consoles at least with better balancing of ADS speeds, auto-aim, etc. Guess not.
I find most of the maps are just average. Some are annoying as hell if you get stuck against a good team that can spawn trap you. (Aachen, USS Texas.) Actually Aachen is just generally bad. I really enjoy Gustav which everyone hates, sniping on it is fun. It's really annoying there are only 9 non-war maps. They get old quick.

Is it just me or are UAVs way harder to shoot down after the patch? Before, I almost never missed but now I can barely hit them.

Same here...though with all three of my characters at around 303-305, I don't really feel like I have much to do until the DLC's released. Except try and get that blasted Better Devils.
