Those ranges are in feet... I know. Mega's link says the 870 goes out to 812 inches with long barrel. The one I posted says 750. Any confirmation either way?

His max ranges for the others are correct i was hoping he did some testing and found that long barrel had a unique effect on the 870.

The vast majority of my numbers were (and still are) speculation.
The max ranges have since been corrected to reflect that chart, but we still don't know at which points the damage changes. The guy who made that chart speculated that damage is now discrete, which complicates things. Albeit only slightly.
He used the new Stinger to obtain the distances and I assumed that it rounds so I picked round numbers nearest to the described values (ex. 750 instead of 756, 700 instead of 696).

Well I just got the game and did some games against bots. The 870 sucks. Its one shot range is pathetic and its min damage is really weak. Its fire rate is good but its not good enough to save you from anyone who knows what the hell they are doing.
The m1216 is probably the best pellet shotgun If you can keep the burst on target it will kill with one burst very near its max range. Since it has a larger mag and full auto fire rate for a burst its better than the saiga for most scenarios. Larger groups would prbly be better with saiga because there is no delay.
The ksg is somewhat of a let down. I was hoping for a little more one shot range. Not to the foot or hands but one shots to the torso would have been nice for about 4 meters further than normal one shot range. Maybe we can work something out there.
Overall shotguns are weak again. The poor one shot kill range on the slow firing ones is the largest concern I have now after testing.

Agreed, regarding the 870. You must ADS to have a shot at a 1HK at its medium range and around it's longest range I have yet to land an 1HK (even while ADS'ing). I'm thinking this thing must be around 50-10 damage and 200-600 for range. The 50 damage definitely does not extend too far past a few meters because it seems too inconsistent at its mid range to be a 2/8 pellet kill. MW3 Spas-12 completely outclasses this gun, and sadly, so too does the MW3 Model.
Also, the S12 is the worst shotgun I've ever used.
However, I'll still use both ;D

But the R870 has been treating me quite well actually. You just have to ADS if you expect to kill anything outside of pissing range.

I can't wait to unlock Scavenger so I can pair the 870 with Fast Hands + concussion grenades. I think the 1-shot range on the 870 is OK when you ADS, but its 2-shot range sucks because the pellets disappear really quickly.

50-15, 300-750 would be fine. At least using linear damage drop models. I have no idea wtf blops 2 uses yet. I am really dissapointed..
Variable hipspread on shotguns is the worst damn idea I have ever heard. Unless they are tiny to begin with. These of course are not. "Hey I got an idea. Lets design a weapon class that depends on you agressively moving to do well with because of limited range. Then we penelize them for moving." said no smart person ever.
My connection is really crap in blops 2. So I had to stop playing before I broke someone. Went to bf3 where all is well with the world.

The 870 is actually pretty popular. I see a lot of people using it, but all they do is hipfire and they wonder how I go 60-15 in Multi-team hardpoint when they are struggling to get even a couple of kills... Then they give up and return to generic assault rifle/smg. It's still very interesting to see how everyone else adapts when you dominate with a weapon (particularly shotguns), by coping your choice.
