Everyone has different standards alex. I wrote off titanfall for being too much like cod or brink. some people want a bit more before spending $60. ANYWAY, driftizzle gave us some fun stuff. Highlights are: [23:10:31] <drift0r> FYI: Frame round is fixed/removed. No idea how it but it was one. [23:24:43] <drift0r> 3arc has a new experimental attachment too [23:24:57] <drift0r> "High Caliber" = headshots deal extra damage [23:25:15] <drift0r> Multipliers are like 1.1 right now. Same as AW. This moves it up to 1.5-2 depending on the gun. [23:16:22] <probaddie> also, they actually mentiuoned us by name [23:16:23] <probaddie> ? [23:16:36] <drift0r> yes [23:16:38] <probaddie> i have such a nerd hardon Yet they want to spend $60 if the game was just like every other CoD. Magnets how do they work?

not something I find fresh or innovative in cod. Again, when has CoD ever been fresh or innovative? MW1 felt very fresh. WaW felt pretty cool, with the large maps and tanks MW2 felt kind of new BO2 felt very new, with how the Pick10 worked. AW felt immensely new and different. Except unfortunately, it wasn't really a 'fresh' smell I was feeling. The game kind of took the newness into the wrong direction. CoD has innovated quite a bit.

It looks like Treyarch focus group tested 5th graders to come up with this stuff.

I see a lot on news about it dropped during last few days like they gonna release it any time soon. Back in time there were some teasers and here they already revealed some MP info. Also, this Beta. Have COD ever had beta stance? It's a same game overall, i smell marketing move. Early Access is a thing now.

It looks like Treyarch focus group tested 5th graders to come up with this stuff. How so? It's all in theory now, as it's still being play-tested, but it looks like Treyarch has a reason for these things they are doing. They are trying to bring the game back to the ground. Make the game more about map control, basic CoD elements that we all grew to love. And emphasize the Treyarch 3-lane stuff they are known for. But at the same time, ...make the game move fast, not be campy. What happened with Ghosts. That's where SH messed up with AW. They made the game to airborne, making the use of maps (control, lanes, etc..) pretty much irrelevant. Maps are meaningless in AW. They all play the same. Run and jump in the air, and do 1v1 airborne battles. The game just became a strafe/boost fest with some cosmetic map sh1t below. That's why interest in this game plummeted. If anything, ...the above AW seems to have been tested on the five year old. Treyarch appears to be thinking this out. (in fairness to SH, they probably put a lot of thought into their idea too)

What goes on in the campaign, and how the Multiplayer plays, are two separate things.
And come on. You play Destiny. Like ANYTHING makes sense in that game? Land-speeder bikes that materialize out of air. Lizards that wear medieval armor. The worst plot in FPS gaming history. You have no issues with that game, but suddenly CoD has dumb stuff? Please.

The robot thing is in multiplayer though. With the arm cannon and the 3 second rewind ability. Just need Will Smith perk to counter.

I must have missed that.
3-second rewind ability? How the Foxtrot does that work in MP?

I must have missed that. 3-second rewind ability? How the Foxtrot does that work in MP? It teleports you to the location you were a few seconds before

Basically, when you hit it you go back where you were 3 seconds before, but if you get shot or injured that carries over. Also, your bullets don't get recouped. Driterd said it was best for suicide bomber attempts in HP. There are said to be 9 characters each with special abilities and guns. You get either the ability OR the gun in a game.

So if I run in to a HP to use that example. And I get shot up, and die.
I could hit the time-machine ability, and go back to three seconds before. I am then 'not dead'. My death never counted (or maybe it does? I just get regenerated?)

No, if you die, you die. His example was to throw a semtex/explosive where you need it then teleport back out before being shot. Let it kill enemies, then stroll back in.

And to remove frame rounding like they just did, would have to have spent a lot of time tweaking the engine or something? Not if they're blending fire rates, say every even bullet is 720 RPM and every other is 900. This would take about five seconds of coding.

It probably just wasn't a priority since 99.9% (that's probably lowballing) of people won't notice or care.

My favorite piece of revealed info: no more panic knifing. Gone. Forever. See you.
Drift0r's vid mentioned that the Devs eventually thought it was a silly, stupid mechanic in a series based on people shooting each other that had zero counter-play and caused CQB fights to degenerate into "who mashes the stick first." So for those of us who have been saying that for years, congratulations: the battle is over. We won. Now, melee is a gun-smash that pushes the enemy back and does damage, but isn't fatal on a player with full health.
Secondary knife is still present, but 3arc sees this as a risk-reward mechanic where you can one-hit-kill by knowingly switching to the weapon and being unable to shoot back: a design decision I think is totally logical.
Bestill my beating heart. If the rest of the MP mechanics are this well-considered, BOIII is going to knock it out of the park.

You are really bringing a lot to this discussion, aren't you? So we can't make obvious comparisons to other games or within the series itself? Very informative.

I never said you can't compare it to games within the franchise, nor did I even say you can't compare it to other games. If that's how you play games then that's your choice. I'm just not the type of person to shit on Quake III just because Unreal Tournament was released before it.
