Is anyone surprised that the mouse enjoys using the mouse instead of the joystick for viderr gaymes?

also, why would you use an xbox controller over the ps3 controller on the pc? Xbox 360 controller has native support in many games, particularly console ports (including Black Ops).

A good keyboard and mouse= master race in terms of actual function.
Controllers are just so comfortable and familiar, though.

mrite, thats really cool. id love to mess around with that. know a few people that use graphic design mice with a trackball. if i understand correctly, they use the ball(with their thumb) for fine movement, and the normal mouse tracking function to turn and make more sweeping gestures.

I own a XIM2 that I used for MW2 on Xbox, and I configured it to be pretty near PC-like. I was very happy with it, compared to using a controller. But eventually I went back to PC, for pixel-accurate aiming that I never could quite achieve with Xbox, and for better graphical fidelity/draw-distance. If I ever return to console(next-generation), a XIM or XIM-like product is a must, imo.
PC controls + a few PC friends > large group of friends playing on Xbox
On a related note, for me, playing a FPS on console controllers feels like a completely different game genre, like a RTS, third-person game, side-scroller, etc. No matter how good I ever got at it(pretty good in Halo), I still feel like I am steering around a drunk third-person Frankenstein. On the PC, I feel like I am in the skin on the character, in **100%** control at all times.

Are they available for the PS4/X1? Are they useful for the current shooters available like Titanfall and CoD?

XIM4. Yes, pretty useful.

If the game has reasonable look mechanics, the XIM 4 provides completely native mouse controls.
The primary limitation is that max turn speed is universally lower in console games, which can be an issue at higher sensitivities. I frequently hit the limit in CoD when turning quickly from the hip.

Does anyone know if you can use a controller in your left hand and a mouse in your right with the XIM4? Or is it all or nothing?
I do that on PC with joy2key and an x360 controller and it's great.

Do you feel the XIM4 is worth the price? No. The XIM is worth far more than its price. Does anyone know if you can use a controller in your left hand and a mouse in your right with the XIM4? You can. The mouse and/or keyboard are simply alternative inputs and the controller through which they are routed still functions. It is popular to use a Move in one hand and a mouse in the other.

Megaqwerty uses a XIM because it's the closest thing to the godliness of PC Master Race he will ever be

Your soul has negative equity. Megaqwerty uses a XIM because it's the closest thing to the godliness of PC Master Race he will ever be Indeed. The primary reason why I abandoned PC was the lower player base for Call of Duty. I have no regrets.

Probably go back to console with the XIM 4 for Body Odor III in that case. Like you said, the PC player base just kills me. I get tired of playing Jimmy and the cat down the street in TDM every night.

I highly recommend that. Aside from my PC bros giving me endless grief, it's been great.

I skipped AW but I think I'm buying BO3 this year. With all the wall running and jetpacking nonsense, I think I'll buy the xim4 with it.

In some CoDs, you cannot disable aim assist. Furthermore, aim assist is absurd in Call of Duty and can be used to detect enemies you would not otherwise.

Wound up getting this and an Xbox One. (Too many people I know with an xbox one to justify getting a ps4, although I really wanted the ps4 more.)
Playing around with it, it's pretty cool. Takes a while to get things set up but it's pretty crazy to be using a mouse on a console. I do not notice any dead zones or anything else with the XIM4, functionally it feels just like a PC to me.

Well, it is cross platform so it'll be there if you decide to abandon the dark side.
Again, the fluidity of the XIM is wholly dependent on the game in question. In games with good look mechanics, but in ones without, it is awful (but so is the game without a XIM).

Forced to go all old yeller on my Scuff and send it to the grave..
Coming up on 10 months and the controller decides to shit the bed. R1 is only usable when applying pressure a bear trap rivals. Left thumb stick is following the same path as the R1..
Growing up on PC FPS (Quake, Unreal Tournament, Counter-Strike), decided to splurge and pick up an XIM.
Any recommendations for Mouses, Keypad

Bought one the other day just to try it out. I'm having a lot of problems with it so far. First, it uses calibration/setup software that only works 1/4 of the time. It worked initially, but after setting it up for a single game, it hasn't worked since which means I can't change my sensitivity (since it recommends that you use max in-game sensitivity and max DPI) or key binds. I've tried everything that their website suggests including un and reinstalling the firmware and software, nothing has helped. It still says that the software can't connect to the hardware even though they're paired by bluetooth (and sometimes it won't even work when it's plugged in by USB). Also, even though I'm using hardware that is explicitly compatible with the XIM (Razer DeathAdder Chroma & a generic Insignia keyboard), it sometimes will not pick up that the devices are even plugged in and I'll either have to unplug and then plug them back in or more often I'll have to completely restart my console and the software. The worst part of it is, the XIM has an input lag of about a frame or two (very noticeable) that I can't seem to fix. The best I can get from their support is to make sure that all my settings on my monitor are correct which of course, they are. So, I would think twice about getting this. If you really can't stand a controller then it might be a viable option for you but other than that, I would suggest not getting it.
