Purple engrams seem to be extremely rare. I've only seen a few drop out in the wild, maybe once a week on average. Maybe a little more than that, but not much. Most of my legendary engrams have come from ranking up the cryptarch.

I had a sniper that didn't need a full trigger pull, but was a bit disappointed. I didn't really feel much difference in using it at least in PvE, and I rarely use snipers in PvP. I went back to my previous one instead.

Someone test if that works for hobgoblins as well.

Cheesing the Warsat: Each wave gets harder, but they only start after you finish killing off the last one so you can just kill off the most dangerous enemies and leave a couple of the wimpier ones then kite around the warsat to kill time. They might wander off far enough to spawn a new wave or try to melee you, but you can finish the warsat in 1 or 2 waves. per www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2jeo8e/a_cheeky_trick_for_defending_the_warsat/PS. Not really needed except for low levels soloing harder warsats, (some are harder than others).

Clearly these goblins can't bend their elbows, shoulders, or wrists... clearly it's a genetic issue and we should be more sensititve to their handicap/disability/

Have you ever wondered: how many frigging XPs do I need to get to the next node of my weapon/armor upgrade? Wonder no more. destinydb.com has you covered (for some items at least). Go to their item page and hover over each node to see XP requirements. Here is an example: Pocket Infinity. (212,500 XP to unlock the whole thing, wow, that's a lot) To reason why I am looking into this is I am wonder how many XPs that Raid chest (93,500) and boots need (76,500). Got them for my Warlock and I dropped off 1 level after equipping them. Need to get them fully upgraded ASAP for +2 level increase. Tips to upgrade weapons quickly: 1) get Nightfall done as early as possible for extra XP boost; 2) if you have 3 guys, let them take turn to use the thing and complete all bounties of the day; 3) Consider buying telemetry from Xur, 1 coin for a pack of 5, each will give you a boost on weapon XP. The trick here is: a) do the bounties, b) before turn in the bounty, activate the telemetry, and c) profit

If you're the fireteam leader... never go back to orbit if you are trying to leave the fireteam (and rejoin) as it kicks the entire group out of whatever you are doing.... -.-

Fastest way to level up your exotic weapons:
0) Buy a pack of 5 telemetry from Xur for the weapon category you need, cost 1 strange coin;
For each of the telemetry you plan to use:
1) Get a bunch of completed bounties saved up, ideally all giving out 5000 XP upon turning in; 2) Play highest level daily until the final boss is only a slimmer of health away from being killed; 3) Enable telemetry and start the 30 minute count down; 4) Complete daily from 2) for 7500 XP, MAKE SURE that the weapon you want to upgrade is equipped; 5) Go back to tower, turn in all of your completed bounties: 5000 x 5 = 25,000 XP; 6) Pick up as many easy bounties as possible that can be completed before telemetry expires; 7) Complete these bounties and turn in;

If you are playing Destiny and AW at the same time, you might be annoyed by them using different buttons for melee in default layout. Good news: if you switch Destiny to "green thumb", you will get what you need with only melee changed.

That has hurt me many times in AW, though I kind of like it on the shoulder so I'm not sure I want to switch it in Destiny... hmm...

Accept the fact that you will be playing both, and go for consistency than preference Although lunge distance is dismal (which is a good thing), Panic melee is important in AW since enemies can appear right in your face with no advanced warning. You don't want to shoot a grenade or activate your secondary Exo when that happens If I remember correctly, this is also consistent with Titanfall.

I lost count the amount of times I hit RB to reload in Black Ops 2 and Crysis to then realise it is something else.

But Titanfall has the B melee option. The superior controller layout.

I doubt I'd want melee on a face button. I do use claw grip, but I pretty much gotta ride the X button (A for XBOX) for jumping now that CoD and Destiny both use it a lot more, similar to TF. Reload, switch weapons, change stance usually things that aren't terribly reaction time dependent because you do them when you decide to rather than directly and immediately in response to something else. But then, I might get used to it if I tried it.
But then what I really prefer for melee is thumb button on my mouse. ;3 TITANPUNCH!

Bumper jumper ftw! Is it an option for AW? If not, I won't be picking it up for sure... They have always been kinda cocky with their control schemes. Almost every game has a setting very close to cod. But cod seems to think it is unnecessary to make players from other games feel welcome.
With the two major fps shooters of the year using allot of jumping and supporting bumper jumper, and cod following that jumpy jumpy wagon, they should at least have a bumper jumper option. (Or invest in the company behind scuffs...)

I have a new scuff coming in a few days, I am to key-map out button combos, to make this stuff feel more natural.

As Mannon will testify, I got lucky with 2 purple engrams and 6 blues on the daily in the Cosmodrome, and another on Mars.
While I knew exotics weren't class dependent, I'm a little peeved that purples aren't either... one of engrams were purple hunterboots. Which got me 2 nice ascendant shards.
oh, one other thing
Dear Destiny/Bungie, Please make Warlock bonds actually useful. There's no reason to get my hopes over a blue engram for it to turn out to be something that's useless. At least, let them make my left bicep even sexier than it already is. thanks, Markopolo

Yup. We ran the Daily and the Weekly and he got a purple engram on each one, and I got some blue stuff.
We sprinted through the Daily at level 24 with a brief intermission because the big Fallen v Hive war erupted while we were in the Array and I insisted on staying to fight it out, mainly because that's my favorite "event" in the game, even though it technically isn't an event. heh By the end some of those guys were too tough for us even at 26 and I sniped at them from a rooftop. mmm... fun... The rest we handled in stride, even the final battle, which was fun, but wasn't as difficult a fight as I was expecting. I guess we were slightly overleveled for it.
The weekly at level 26 was an adventure. It took way longer than I'd hoped, mainly because we both ran completely dry on ammo at or just after the damn tank. (Which took us a bit to find safe ways to attack and figure out it's weakspots.) Final boss was some fun. Took an age and we didn't cheese. I think the shield guys mostly harassed Marko as they left me pretty much alone. I had a lot of close calls, but somehow managed without needing to use Radiance. Honestly I don't know how. I was down to nil health so many times! We've gotten into a groove where I play defensively and try to save Radiance for when we really need it. I think Marko's more aggressive, but with radiance up I can usually res even if I risk getting killed. We both desperately need better weapons, though. heh Then again we're both nearly Rank 3 and Marko did get a legendary pulse rifle... (Though... it's a pulse rifle... bleh) We're also both close to having our 1 exotic and 2 legendaries on armor. I think Marko can buy an exotic with coins this weekend and I might be able to with motes... maybe. I'm a few coins short though.
Never fought any of those enemies before, so it was a hoot. Sadly I didn't manage any motes of light so I'm still 2 short for Xur and only have half the XP for one.

Dunno if we would have gotten past the lieutenants, much less the tank, much less the boss's minions, much less the boss. And I'm getting better: only 14 deaths this time... last time it was 41!!! Bah! BAH! and while I'm sosososososososososo tempted to buy the exoticfrom Xur... I just know the exotic he's gonna sell me will be for a hunter. Maybe with some prodding, I might... or I might save up for next weeks weapon. I do have enough for some armor, so if the warlock armor is good, I'll probably shell out for that

And I'm absolutely loving those Cosmodrome dailies we're doing.... so much fun. I just have to remember that the thrall ready to kill me isn't a level 4 but a level 22 and might take more than headshot to kill. Too often, I'm standing out in the open, pretending I'm this invincible thing who can take the damage, because I'm used to dealing with them when they're a level 4, not 5X higher... so when I die, I'm very "WTF?!?!?!?" then Mannon has to res me and I feel guilty.

You should be able to buy a Warlock exotic armor for sure with 13 coins. Xur always sells an exotic armor for each class for 13 coins. It's the 23 mote armor engram that you don't know what you're going to get. (Although reportedly the engram armors are usually better than the sure thing ones, but that could just be a rumor I read somewhere.) I prolly should have saved my coins since the Voidfang I bought is more a PvP armor, but then again I have been upgrading it and nearly have it to the point I can start using shards on it... if I choose to. (If I replace it for PvE I may save the shards, on the other hand I have sixty some shards now just tucked away in my inventory.)
Yeah doing the weekly on 28 isn't happening until we level up to 27 at least. That damage reduction is just too much with our wimpy rare only weapons. ;3 I think we might could handle some of the level 28 dailies, though the end fights could be a grind with a few wipes until we figure it out. I don't think we need bother with the level 20 or 22 difficulties at this point. We can handle 24 and 26.
It's those modifiers that really get ya. Last week's one that gives enemies hella melee was... interesting. Lord getting bitch slapped in one hit by fecking even the fodder enemies was rough. heh I basically assume Thrall will kill me if they get the chance on the higher level stuff, but then I have a deeply ingrained fear of them overwhelming me from playing beta and low level missions. They do seem particularly vulnerable to headshots, though. I dunno if that's real or just because if you don't kill them quickly they tend to overwhelm you, but I push myself to headshot them even more than other enemies. If they do overwhelm me I backpedal and spam short or long glides. They generally don't attack and sometimes backoff if you're gliding, and if you can get on top of something you can usually just jump and glide to stay out of their reach indefinitely. Combined with a few well timed melee attacks of my own (and using the ability that grants me a shield from melees) I usually fight 'em off. I also just generally put them much higher on my threat assessment. I can always use cover and movement to avoid damage from ranged baddies.

Is there actually a lvl at which the blue engrams turn themselves in? They tend to block eventually so I'd rather have them "unblocking" themselves at a certain Cryptarch lvl.

What do you mean by "blocking"? Blue and above engrams not picked up will sit at postmaster, so you won't lose them if you have no space for them in your loadout.

Do you mean they are filling up your inventory? You can just leave rare and better ones on the ground and pick them up at the postmaster. Doubt they will ever auto turn in. Although I really do wish I could auto dismantle green and white items. (Maybe blue too soon, but I try to get those items leveled up to increase resources first.)

That's fine however I don't get why they couldn't implement that I wouldn't have to go to the tower. Make it a reward at rank lvl 10.
