What do you mean by "blocking"? Blue and above engrams not picked up will sit at postmasters, so you won't lose them if you have no space for them in your loadout. That's fine however I don't get why they couldn't implement that I wouldn't have to go to the tower. Make it a reward at rank lvl 10. Well, if I have a quarter every time I ask the following question...

Going to the tower is a time sink and an enforced quasi social experience. I think half the point of engrams in the first place is to send you to the tower, though I think it's supposed to be more of a reward for going there, (and then discovering all the NPC's and such that are there, which you might otherwise unwisely ignore).
hmm... Now I'm curious. Just how much harder would it be to play Destiny without going to the tower (other than when forced to by story missions)? I can only picture a horrendous slog, but I think it would be mostly possible. Biggest pain would be no bounties and no buying legendary gear. Lord, what a wall you would hit at level 20!

Hey.... the tower is a fun place. It's just sparse right now.
But with future updates, I'm sure it'll be a more hoppin' place.
I predict a dubstep night club like BO2 has

Is there actually a lvl at which the blue engrams turn themselves in? They tend to block eventually so I'd rather have them "unblocking" themselves at a certain Cryptarch lvl. What do you mean by "blocking"? Blue and above engrams not picked up will sit at postmaster, so you won't lose them if you have no space for them in your loadout. Unless they fall off the map. I saw a blue engram do this to me when I was on my way killing Telthor.

The tower is primarily a quest/merchant hub and a social space second. Granted it isn't the best such hub. Sure the architecture is neat, but the NPC's all just stand in place and mumble to themselves 24/7. There are no activities going on other than other players and a couple of robots perpetually cleaning the same spots to make the place seem lively and real. I think that's sad. But no biggie.
It would be nice to have opt in proximity chat so we could socialize while back at the tower or out in public spaces. It would be great to gather around and swap stories and meet people. Though, there is something a bit endearing about the mute, gesturing communication to me. Once upon a time I thought having voice communication would be the greatest thing ever, but now in every single game I've ever played where random people can talk to each other even just on the same team, you inevitably are exposed to assholes and douchebags pretty much every single fecking time you play and I'm tired of it. People are nicer when you can't talk. I guess it requires more effort to be a dick if you can't just open your mouth to do it.

There is a difference between a save harbor of speech and not having an LFG and LFR tag while offering group activities which somewhat require just this. I get the timesink stuff and yet it's not a very smart way of keeping you in the game for longer.

Yeah the game doesn't really facilitate socialization. It just sort of puts random players in the same areas at times and the rest is up to you.

Okay I no longer hate the 20 Fusion Rifle multi kills bounty now, because I found a great spot to knock it out. Prolly been posted and I'm sure I'm not the only one who's found it, but I thought I would mention this.
Goto cosmodrome patrol and to the larger building with all the dregs and vandals hanging out outside near the crashed ship. The one that is the entrance to the underground map room. Kill everything outside and go down the stairs. Now just behind you, (under the stairs you went down) the enemies you just killed spawn just around the corner. (Also sometimes two chests spawn at that corner, sometimes both at the same time.) Okay now you keep going down the hall towards the map room. As soon as you go down the second set of stairs turn around immediately, (do not even peek into map room) and run back to the doorway to that room with the first stairs. All the dregs and vandals have spawned. Kill and repeat.
If you are fast you can kill them before they get up the stairs and out. If not you'll have to go up and finish them off. You can get several multi-kills with the fusion rifle of your choice here, especially if you occasionally block the stairs with a grenade. You just have to be fast getting back up. Experiment.
I tried this going outside and they didn't seem to want to respawn even after running a fair distance, but every single time I went down those second stairs they respawned immediately.

Yep.... that's a great spot... or any of the moon missions with thrall or acolytes.
Another spot in the cosmodrome that I've had dome success with is in dock 13... get the mobs to line up and let er rip...

There is a trigger key that works the entire process. When you go downstairs in that building, hiding in the stairwell....what determines that group's respawn is the presence (and/or lack of presence) of enemies in the Steppe area, outside, over in the outside corner by the entrance area to the Divide. So if there are dregs/vandals over in that corner.....even one.... no dregs/vandals will respawn from that downstairs spawnpoint. You can sit there for ten straight minutes and just end up waiting. You need to go back upstairs, go outside and then clear them out. And then hurry back to get set up.

At the risk of sounding like BSO (bloody show off ), I'll throw this out here since it is a little bit relevant to the current topic: the fusion rifle kill bounty is a piece of cake if you have the Vex Mythoclast, the primary auto Fusion Rifle(!) from VoG raid. Just blast enemies with it, and you can get the bounty done in no time...

lol, probably.
But if you set up the above Cosmodrone shack spawn-trap, you can get it done in less than five minutes. It's ridiculously easy. You get 2 to 3 doubles per wave. Six or seven waves and you are done. The dregs/vandals literally walk right at you in a single file line.
What makes it take longer for most people is not understanding the spawn reset trigger.
btw, any knowledge I am sharing there, is courtesy of Post. He showed it to me.

This is a great spot but it can also be super frustrating. It attracts trolls, who intentionally disrupt the spawn. I think about every third time I'm there someone is effing it up. Most commonly sitting at the room where they spawn, blocking the spawn. Accompanied by /sitting, /pointing, and /waving. On a fun note, someone tried to block the spawn by sit ting outside above the spawn room. He taunted and then started /dance. But he went AFK... so I took the 5 or so minutes necessary to punch/push him until I moved him off the cliff to his death. I took great pleasure in picturing his reaction when he returned from AFK to find his corpse in the ocean...

Another small tip for any players who haven't started using it. Sprinting stops your reload. This is fine if you get the timing right to reload cancel so that you still get your mag replenished, but it can also mean that sometimes you have to choose between moving quickly or reloading.
The tip is sprint then do a boost jump. For Warlock this is a doubletap glide. You'll get your burst of speed and then you can reload while you are in the air, even though you're moving faster than just walking. You can always drop glide when you're done to get back on the ground. Basically if you need to move fast and reload at the same time it's just faster to do it in the air.
Not sure if it works well for titans or not. For hunters you may not have time to finish your reload depending upon reload speed and height of your double jump. However, if you're using blink the blink animation cancels reloading so you cannot reload through a blink... which I find to be most unfortunate. Though I suppose you could use it to reload cancel and be ready to fire immediately after blinking.
(Reload cancelling in Destiny is interesting. I haven't fully investigated it. Sometimes it seems you don't even have to cancel the animation to fire before it's finished. I'm pretty sure experimenting with hand cannon I would often be able to fire before the animation was quite 100% done. Or I'm just remembering wrong... Like I said I haven't properly experimented with it, just anecdotal.)

A little something I did not know, but learned from Reddit. Apparently hipfiring has a penalty to range, so even if you don't need the accuracy (firing at a large enemy, for example) you may do less damage hipfiring than ADS unless you're using a weapon with no damage dropoff. So be sure to only hipfire at close targets.

Guys! I'm sure many of you know this by now, but if you have the DLC...the mission "Siege of the Warmind" is fantastic for knocking out so many "kill X with Y" bounties. THRALLS FOR DAYS. HIVE MAJORS FOR DAYS. RUNNING IN A STRAIGHT LINE RIGHT INTO MY RETICLE FOR HEADSHOTS FOR DAYS. Just make sure you don't kill the knight at the very end of the first area.

Yup! The first time I played through that section my first thought was immediately that I'll never need to do the "We've woken the Hive!" checkpoint in The dark beyond ever again.
The final battle also has many knights and wizards if you need them for Eris and the whole mission is really pretty short. Though, the battle at the end can be tough on Hard (30). I noticed that it seemed slightly easier to solo on hard than it was with Marko and me. I think there were fewer enemies, or they had less health which translates into fewer due to killing them. Most of it's just a tactical loitering grind using cover to pick off wizards. But when the Ogre comes out it also spawns sword knights that come drive you from your cover so it's a little Benny Hill at that point trying to kite, do damage to Ogre, and not die, especially after the wizards puked their green circles all over the place. Though I may have just had more experience when I soloed it.
Two tips for that fight. #1. Focus the wizards ASAP... A grenade or rocket into the spawn does wonders, when you get their shields down finish them. The fewer of them alive the easier everything will be, and the longer they live the more green circles they put down to get in your way. #2. The platforms where you come in and the doors close behind you are great for tactical loitering. You have pillars and a rail for cover, and can back up behind the steps. Other than Wizards enemies will have to come all the way around the steps to get to you, so watch the side. The best part is if you get overrun you can jump the rail, run across, and jump up to the other platform. Enemies will have to run all the way around. This is handy for the sword knights & Ogre since they will respawn if you kill them all. (Maybe not if you just kill the knights and leave the acolytes...) If you do get the knights taken down the area behind the platform with Rasputin's command console is decent for the Ogre as the rails can block most of his beam but let you keep shooting. Just watch for sword knights.
PS. There's a dead ghost in the room before Rasputin welcomes you in (can get on patrol), and another down past the steps that waves of Thrall come down from which leads to the window room (can only get during mission).
