There's a lot of problems with that information. First off, their numbers are flat out wrong. Here is the Heritage Foundation's numbers. 49.5 billion is the actual total deficit, not 66.5 billion like your image says. The per tax unit would end up being $528.39, however that's all leaving out one important part. Here you'll see that 46.2% of revenue for the federal government is from income taxes. State and Local is even lower. So, that 528 number needs to be cut in at least half to represent what people are actually paying. 46.2% and 18.4%, weighted at about 2 to 1 in favor of Federal gives us $195.15 per person. And again there's so much left out still that these numbers all end up being relatively meaningless. However what your image presented is just blatantly false. I don't understand why anyone cares about these numbers. Every demographic, other than > college educated head of households, runs a "deficit" according to whatever metric they are using to calculate average fed expenditures per household. Assuming those numbers are even accurate, as you point out they may be wildly off. And the worst is by far households lacking a high school diploma. Can we deport them instead?

France is having an election. Pretty much everyone running against her thinks the EU is fine and dandy, but Marine Le Pen wants to renegotiate many things or else Frexit is going to happen.
Macron's her biggest rival, and his poll numbers are reportedly 20 points ahead. However many believe those numbers are fake, the media is biased to a fault like in the US presidential election, and that the numbers will be a LOT closer. Stay tuned over the next two weeks- this gon' be goood.

Telling everyone the alt right is taking over the world, an EU lead by Merkel makes Hitler look less worse in terms of making Germany great, and the left needs to sort themselves out badly?

Obviously Le Pen is a fascist race-baiting disaster, and France leaving the EU would precipitate the end of the Eurozone as a feasible economic entity, which would in turn destabilize what was the most conflict ridden and volatile continent in human history prior to the end of WWII.
So don't vote for Le Pen. Next?

I predict it'll fall somewhere between "cautiously optimistic " and "he inherited a mess from Obama"
I think both sides probably agree that he's doing the best he can and is completely unable to do better

I think most people voted for Trump because fuck Hillary. So they don't actually care. Trump won't win re-election unless Hillary runs again.

I think most people voted for Trump because Foxtrot Hillary. So they don't actually care. Trump won't win re-election unless Hillary runs again. Right. "Lock her up" etc. etc. And now, their choice for President is within the orbit of multiple criminal investigations or is being personally investigated for something that is actually fairly serious and... what? Doesn't matter, presumably to many Trump fans. Not shocking and totally predictable, but frustrating nonetheless.

I didn't cast a vote for him as I voted down ballot, but if the election were re-held today I think I probably would. His Presidency thus far has been somewhat shaky (if I had to rate it with a letter grade I'd probably give it a "C"), but in all honesty it’s way too early to tell how Trump is doing as President. Some of his actions have been terrific; some have been garbage; some of his promises haven't taken place. Some of his rhetoric has been useful; more (or most) hasn't. The total bag is definitely mixed.
Some of the things I see as being "Good" Trump:
- Nominated and got Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court.
- Passed a requirement that for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated.
- Passed a 5 year-ban on White House and Congressional officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government service.
- Withdrew the US from the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
- Lifted workforce restrictions on the production of $50 trillion dollars' worth of job-producing American energy reserves, including shale, oil, natural gas and clean coal.
- Lifted the Obama-Clinton workforce roadblocks to allow vital energy infrastructure projects, like the Keystone Pipeline, to move forward.
- Cancelled billions in payments to U.N. climate change programs and used the money to fix several of America's water and environmental infrastructures.
- He's begun removing more than 2 million criminal illegal immigrants from the country and cancelling visas to foreign countries that don't want to take them back.
- He's threatened to cancel all federal funding to Sanctuary Cities. I hope he does.
- He suspended immigration from terror-prone regions where vetting couldn't safely occur and intended to see the vetting process improved. Unfortunately, his has been held up by the courts.
- He's directed the Secretary of Commerce and U.S. Trade Representative to identify all foreign trading abuses that unfairly impact American workers and direct them to use every tool under American and international law to end those abuses immediately. This process is supposedly still in the works.
- He's supposedly renegotiating NAFTA under the threat of withdrawal per Article 2205. The nature of this negotiation is unclear at this point, so it may not remain a "good" thing.

i mean hes taken a 3 million dollar vacation every other weekend for starters That's pretty counter-intuitive considering he only took $1/year salary for being president, undercutting $1.6M over 4 years. I'm not sure how one can spend 3 million in a single vacation, albeit a single weekend, but I'm willing to bet if the mainstream media wasn't so pissed at him we'd never even hear that number. Running a country is nothing short of one of the most stressful jobs out there, and it's not like Trump never held a luxurious lifestyle beforehand. I'd hold my judgment on that $3M until I hear how much other presidents have spent on their weekends while holding office.

Do you have any idea how much securing a location for a presidential visit costs? Fu ck, it cost New York city over $100,000 a day to provide security for Melania and Barron to stay in NYC. That's just what it cost the city. That figure does not include the cost for secret service. I mean, I have no doubt that as he continues to waste taxpayer money traveling to Mar-a-lago twice a month his staff will find ways to waste the money more efficiently so it doesn't cost like $1,000,000 just to get him there, but the man is on track to outspend Obama's eight year presidency in one year.

The nature of this negotiation is unclear at this point, so it may not remain a "good" thing. Thanks for the thoughtful reply. It's really helpful to see where you're coming from. - I don't see nominating and getting approved a Supreme Court Justice as an accomplishment, given the circumstances behind it. All he had to do was choose someone who would get approved. - A 5 year ban on White House and Congressional officials becoming lobbyists does nothing to stop the systemic issue of corruption in our government. It has no impact of any significance, with the exception of allowing them to act as if they've done something about it. - Can you please explain why his accomplishments with regard to energy are positives? Coal wasn't dying because of regulations, and removing those regulations won't make it economically viable. There are plenty of jobs in renewable energy to be filled if we were to invest in retraining. The Keystone pipeline is already leaking. - What water and environmental infrastructures has he fixed? I have not heard anything about this. I have heard that he does not believe in global warming, and appointed to head the EPA someone who shares the same beliefs and is looking to dismantle it. Why is it a good thing that he cancelled the payments to the UN climate change programs? - Why do you hope he cancels all funding to Sanctuary Cities? - What makes you think vetting wasn't occurring? Why do you see the suspension of immigration from certain countries as a positive? You mentioned the positives, can you please elaborate on what you saw as negatives?

This process is supposedly still in the works. - He's supposedly renegotiating NAFTA under the threat of withdrawal per Article 2205. The nature of this negotiation is unclear at this point, so it may not remain a "good" thing. - Putting aside the absurdity of the fact that Trump never should have had this opportunity in the first place...I guess we can agree to disagree about Gorsuch. I personally think he is terrible, from an ideological and legal perspective. Favors corporate interests over workers, poor on civil liberties, etc. - Arbitrarily removing 2 regulations for every 1 does not strike me as sound policy even if we assume there are enough meaningless regulations out there that we can successfully "cull" dead weight regs. If this is based on the general idea that all regulations = bad or the GOP screed that regulations hurt "small businesses" then I disagree with that perspective and would point out that some of the most important protections in the US (employee safety and wage regulations, clean water and air, safe food) are via regulations. This is an over simplistic perspective where big businesses--the primary beneficiaries of lax regulations, are once again using the foil of the small business as cover. - The lobbyist ban is smoke and mirrors. The EO that enacted this actually withdrew several Obama restrictions on lobbying and thus had a net effect of actually being more lax than Obama era lobbyist restrictions. For example, lobbyists are now only banned from lobbying their own agency--they are free to lobby any other part of the government. Or, lobbyists are now free to work in the government after leaving lobbying work, previously under Obama they were restricted from immediately switching jobs. Or, ethics waivers (which eliminate the bans entirely for whoever the President wants) are now allowed to be secret, under Obama they had to be published. Or, officials now can contact people in their former agency within one year--previously it was two under Obama. Trump basically created a new meaningless "5 year ban" while simultaneously eliminating a bunch of real tangible lobbyist restrictions. Or, white house visitors are now not logged or made public. Or, just the general fact that the Trump administration is staffed with the same Goldman Sachs/Oil Executive cartels as every other "swamp" prior to him. - TPP, fine. But this is another area where I wonder if the opposition is "any free trade deal is bad" (which I disagree with) versus the TPP specifically had issues, which I agree with. I think we can and should create a workable free trade deal with Asian partners and if we do not, China fills that void. - The $50 trillion claim has been shown to be wildly inflated. We have about $3.82 trillion in fossil fuel assets. Putting aside the practical arguments against unhindered extraction, much of which is in protected national reserves or park areas, or even the usefulness of doing so given fossil fuels are traded internationally and do no necessarily lead to lower prices. Or even local jobs... - How is the Keystone Pipeline--which is intended to allow foreign oil companies the ability to simply refine and sell oil on the international market--"vital energy infrastructure?" - How does cutting off funds from the UN help us in any way? This seems to be another "UN = bad" automatic thing. - ICE is removing non-criminal undocumented immigrants, including some DACA kids. Why? What purpose does this serve? - Same thing with Sanctuary Cities. Seems to be more knee-jerkiness. Sanctuary policies are meant to reduce crime. - The muslim ban went poorly and resulted in not one but two lawsuits shutting it down. I am surprised this was referred to as a positive. - Exiting NAFTA. Again, another case of "all trade agreements = bad?" I don't see it. It seems to be, honestly, that most of the positives here come from some fundamentalist perspectives such as all undocumented immigrants are bad, all trade agreements are bad, all Muslim immigrants from certain countries are bad, all regulations are bad, all fossil fuel extractions are good, etc.

Every 24 hour news network has some segments that they're not proud of, because there isn't a consistent flow of news. Every channel has a bunch of ice cream-related coverage
Regarding the stupidity of the Trump Ice Cream #scoopgate reporting, they're actually just doing their job. The US government is now led by a petty, vindictive shithead. It's their duty to report that. The question is how to do so without bias, and the answer is to report that Trump had more ice cream than everyone, which is objective fact. From there, they can allow viewers to have the very simple realization that our President went out of his way at some point to make sure he was served more ice cream than everyone else, and use that to inform their judgement of what kind of person he is.
For the same reason, today they'll be reporting that he said he wants to put "America first" and that he's a "climate change denier" as opposed to just pointing at him and going "look at this fucking idiot and what he fucking did."

I'm not american... but does anyone in the US take Trump at his word, via stats, numbers, dollars and cents?
The man has been lying about everything, pretty much the entire last 2 or 3 years? Don't you just read the news and know that he's not telling the truth?
I mean, yea,.. it's good to officially catch him in a lie with fact checking, I guess. But do we really need to fact check Trump?
You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows; the man's a pathological liar who has succeeded to the upper echelons of power in the US.. the world even... by lying his way there. Did he give a stat? It's a lie... fact check over.

In the case of something as big as pulling out of Paris Accord, yes it's very important to fact check because yes, his base believes him that entering into that would be disastrous for the US economy and would cost jobs and all this stuff. So someone needs to be out there with the right information on stuff like this.
So it's not so much fact-checking Trump, it's fact-checking stuff that he and his minions are spewing everywhere for people to swallow whole. They eat it up.
If i was an American, I don't know how i'd feel as being only aside Syria as an intentional non-backer of Paris Accord (Nicaragua was only out cuz they didn't think the US was paying enough, lol. I bet they're going to love this now).
Some people are saying on the flip side, the US won't be there to weaken the Paris Accord agreement details cuz they're not involved, so the treaty will be stronger and more effective without them tweaking it.
