Six billion US Dollars worth of taxpayer money on the National Science Foundation, all covered in a short and simple 2200+ page document. Sen Rand Paul, being the stuff of legends, steps up and sets out to read the whooole thing.
I can't find an imgur/news post that covers all his tweets, but this will do imgur.com/a/Fl4KT
I know this is unpopular to say here but I sort of find Rand Paul to be a sanctimonious blowhard. When his (arguably, highly manicured) ultra orthodox libertarianism lands on something correct (to me at least) it is more of a "broken clock is still right twice a day" sort of thing.
I knew I recognised the Republican in the video. Saw his video pointing his shotgun at a young male next to him on Last Week Tonight some time ago. If the genders were reversed with a young woman interested in his son, I doubt that video would have been made.
"Guns and bombs don't kill people. Clever scientists who want to build a better method of destruction kill people - lots of them. Most of my Gears couldn't make anything more lethal than a blade or a bow. So you'll forgive me if I think it stinks that my Gears get your "baby-killer" crap and your educated colleagues get research grants. And that's before you start inventing other shit you can't control." - Victor Hoffman.
