L86 LSW with thermal had next to no recoil because of some kind of glitch? Not really a glitch. When they reintroduced gunkick in MW3 as an actual noticeable variable (I never noticed it in other games before), the Thermal sight would negate it because there wouldn't be a model to move when you're aiming through it. This was true for any gun with large amounts of Gunkick. Any of the LMGs, the PM-9, CM-901 and AK-47 (pre-patch), etc. The PKP in MW3 wasn't half bad with Thermal either. The L86 was one of the greatest guns ever made. Group up in MW3. Domination. Interchange. Spawn trap. Equip the L86, and then just fire down a spawn trap sightline. Good old days. Found this on my old photobucket account. A screen cap of some tests done comparing LMG's. Check out how small the L86 spread is.

This was the norm. Most everyone equip the L86, take a lane, and show some patience. Everyone got kills

The L86 was the only one in MW3 that you could run standard aggressive (not quite hyper offensive because of the mobility limits). The others had sort of flaw (too much recoil, noise, flash, slow, etc.), but it had it all. No sight needed either. Your choice on the silencer, but if not that, then just run Kick and Grip for laughs (Extended Mags + Grip is the best though really, forgot which specific guns get more benefit from Kick/Grip). Steady Aim to run around freely. If you run Quickdraw (I usually didn't), then a good player easily matches most assault rifles. That gun is the truth.
MK46 is nice if you like the sound of shells dropping on the ground drowning out enemy footsteps.

To me.... BO2 LMG's were perfect. I just couldn't get MW3's to work for me... I know they dominated, but for some reason (lag and my poor connection) using an LMG for me guaranteed me to have a 15 more deaths than kills in TDM

I liked all of the LMGs in both games. Oddly enough, I found the sights of the M60E4 in MW3 usable while I can't use the CoD4 sights for shit (even in MWR). I almost got a Nuke with the L86 Rapid Fire once.

I can't remember which one it was, but in ghosts, there was one LMG with a nice rapid fire, grip combo that I enjoyed shredding people with

Ahhhh yes, the M27.
I still remember that big castle map on ghosts and me just shooting fish in a barrel after they'd pour out of that side castle entrance and run at me down that path.

So how about the new Modern Warfare Remastered 35 damage LMG? Stopping power isnt good on it which opens up for juggernaut i guess.

Mags for a sight because the irons are obstructive as shit.

I don't even remember if I've used the Bren yet.
But I do like the MG 15 with (quickdraw and/or grip) and extended mags, feels like it can handle close to mid range encounters really well...really needs Ext Mags though, 50 rounds just aren't enough with that rate of fire.

kylet357 Ext mags and steady aim you say...I'll have to try that combination out, sounds like a fun Rambo-esque loadout.

Don't need to aim out to a good distance if the enemy is in the open, and it's obviously very good at close range. I find FMJ unnecessary on the MG15 because the fast fire rate makes up for the lack of damage when penetrating cover.

Bren is sort of fun if you play slow and patient with it.

Is that the first LMG? With the disk mag. Because that gun actually shreds in the War gametype.
Really liking war honestly, some objectives are quite hard, but the fact that your KD isn't affected by war (that is what I read at least, is that true? otherwise I am fucked lol) and you respawn really close to the action is a great way to have some fun.

The first LMG is the Lewis. And yes. War is great fun.

The only LMGs I've had experience so far post-release are the Bren and the MG42. The Bren is hot garbage and the MG42 is good and fun but not great.

Its that time of the year again fellas. BO4 has no ground war so whether or not I buy it is reliant on the fact of whether or not LMGs are viable in that game.
Any meta lists up yet or is it too early to tell?
Would love to know if theres any viable LMGs in the game, havent looked into the game very much as I've been busy with one other game for quite some time.

Yeah, with the High caliber 2 attachment there is an LMG that is like the prenerf Gorgon from BlackOps3 I Is it Hades? No, the Hades is pretty fun though. The Hades has great hipfire with laser sight 2x. Feels like a gimmick, but I actually get a lot of close range kills doing it. I unlocked the thing that makes it hipfire only, but that isn't really my playstyle.
