Where is Salvador?! I want Salvador!!!! Dual wield Hawkmoon and Red Death (when Red Death was good)! Dual wield The Last Word as if it was Salvador dual wielding Maggies. Speaking of Jakobs weapons, the First Curse is basically the Unforgiven in Borderlands 2. Edit: Don't think there is a similar subclass in Destiny to Salvador. Same goes with Mordecai and Gaige, even if you excluded their pets. Well, they should make a Salvador. It would be simple enough to allow your super to double up your weapons for a short burst. Get some more variety. They could "borrow" so many great ideas from Borderlands...

is this still all true?
-------------------------------------
Unlike its predecessor, Destiny 2 is coming to PC in addition to consoles. While PC players will have to wait longer than those on PS4 and Xbox One to get their hands on the full game, a beta is set to begin soon to give them a taste of what to expect.
The PC beta's early access period begins on August 28; this is open to anyone who pre-orders the full game (which also gets you an Exotic weapon). If you don't pre-order, you'll still be able to get in with the launch of the open beta just a day later, on August 29. The beta will conclude for everyone on August 31, barring an extension, like the one we saw for the recent console beta.
Destiny 2 launches in full for PC on October 24, over a month after its console release on September 6. Today's announcement of beta dates also brought word on minimum and recommended specs for the PC version. You'll need at least a GTX 660 or HD 7850 to go along with a Core i3-3250 or FX-4350 and 6 GB of RAM to play. The PC version runs through Battle.net and features some excellent-sounding enhancements.
Destiny 2's console beta raised some concerns from players, although it seems at least some of those have already been resolved. That includes a lack of Heavy Weapon ammo and a particularly difficult section in the opening mission.

Yes but I'm not totally sure on the dates for the PC platform.

GodMars: Are you going to be on D2 at all? If not, given that clans are supposed to have a more prominent role in D2 compared to D1, would you mind kicking admin/founder status down to somebody (or somebodies) who'll be actively playing? It's not really clear how important clans are going to be yet, but there's supposedly clan progression which unlocks some rewards and perks, and obviously the guided games stuff that might help us find some additional players on top of the usual 5 or 6 guys on the XONE side.

I see the problem. Everyone who I set to admin has left the clan or doesn't appear to be active. I've made you an admin.

Cool, thanks! I think all the previous admin info must have been reset when they did the clan migration updates on Bnet a little while ago.
PS: If anyone has any suggestions for our clan banner design and colors, I'm all ears. I'm going to throw some kind of placeholder together in the meantime using oranges and greys since those are the colors the board uses.

D2 on ps4 should have preloaded in your ps4 if you were in rest mode and have that option chosen.

TW@Bungo had a nice bit about engrams... Copypasta:
If you are veteran of Destiny 1, you’re probably familiar with the pre-decryption shuffle. This is where you equipped all of your highest Light gear before you brought your Engrams to the Cryptarch so you would maximize your gains.
In the past, this was a little cumbersome at times, and a huge bummer if you forgot a piece. In Destiny 2, you will suffer those woes no longer.
PSA: In D2 it's no longer advantageous to equip your most powerful gear when decrypting Engrams. We check for your best possible loadout now
— Mark Noseworthy (@knowsworthy) August 28, 2017
Now the game will automagically determine your power potential and give you the reward you deserve without making you dig through all of your Armor and Weapons to equip your best stuff. We recently cornered Investment Designer Daniel Auchenpaugh and compelled him to make some rare promises about character progression.
Tell us about this new system. When do rewards determine their power, and how is it determined?
Daniel: Rewards determine their power at the time they're earned. This means that, when an engram drops in Destiny 2, it decides its power at the time it drops. Also, when we roll rewards, we look at your character's level and your best possible gear to determine the power of the reward. This is true for Crucible end-of-match rewards, Engram drops, Strike rewards, etc. Note that some sources can still produce better gear than others; once you're exploring endgame content look for the "Powerful Gear" rewards in tooltips if you're hunting the best drops.
What gear do you use to determine a players best equipment?
Daniel: When we say "best possible gear," we look at what the best scenario is for your character across your account. This means that, if you are playing on your Hunter (like you should), we might use the Helmet you accidentally left in the vault, the Boots you just picked up but haven't equipped, and the Auto Rifle that you forgot to transfer from your Warlock. Gear on other characters, in the vault, in your inventory, or currently equipped are all compared to find the best loadout you could have.
That’s convenient! What if I have a level 20 Hunter and make a new Hunter so I can have 3 Hunters? Will all my drops be level 20 gear on the new Hunter? What if I've got a ton of Exotics?
Daniel: Nope! The system is smart enough to look at level requirements and make sure it ignores anything that is too high for the current character to equip. It also obeys equipping restrictions, so it understands that you can only equip one Exotic weapon and one piece of exotic armor and figures that in.
Okay, what about the contents of Engrams we haven’t decrypted yet? Are they included when you calculate my best possible equipment?
Daniel: While Engrams do set their power at the time they drop, they don't roll what they contain until the moment you decrypt them. As a result, best possible equipment can't use their contents in its calculations.
If Engrams set their power at the moment they drop, how am I supposed to know which ones have the best gear?
Daniel: Destiny 2's Engrams are pretty cool, because they'll tell you right on the tooltip what the power they dropped at is. This is the minimum power that will come out of the engram.
You’ll understand more about how a new legend will rise in the form of your first Destiny 2 character when you play. Before that journey begins, we wanted to share just one of the quality of life improvements that we’re excited about. We hope you find that Destiny 2 is a far more rewarding game than its predecessor.

That all sounds great on the surface, but it will introduce its own annoyances. So, let's see, the way it's worded you're not going to get any credit for say an extra Titan chest on your Hunter, so you still have to do the transfer-infuse shuffle. And since the engrams don't count towards it, you have to go decrypt anytime you earn a decent engram or else you're leaving light level on the table. That sounds like it could be less convenient than collecting a bunch and going on a decryptathon.
I guess everything is set perks now instead of hunting god-rolls. For me that's a god-send as I hate having 4 different versions of the same thing trying to decide which ones I should keep. There were plenty of times where I just didn't boot up Destiny because I didn't want to deal with clearing enough vault space to actually play.

Are we even sure infusion is still a thing? Without random perks I can see it not existing.
Or are we even sure you can infuse titan into hunter gear? That might not work this time around.
I agree with the engram decryption though, that could be a real hassle, but that was already a thing with the end game rewards last time we needed to level up. If you didn't return to tower after ~5 strikes, you wouldn't get the boost from the engram to get better end game rewards.
All in all this is a little better, but the system can still be gamed a little bit. I like that tbh, but I am a nerd for optimizing leveling etc.

That sounds like it could be less convenient than collecting a bunch and going on a decryptathon. I don't quite follow... It's all accounts based so it will take the highest light levels across your 3 characters, regardless of class or posession of the highest light level item on your character. Using your example: if your extra titan chest is a higher LL, it will use that in the calculations of decryption over your lower ll hunter chest. I fail to see how this isn't infinity plus juan better than anything they've done since infusion started (and yes to whomever asked, 100% infusion rate is still in D2) I mean, I guess there will be new problems that we will find out about though. But this is a hellagood QoL life change.

From what I'm gathering, it appears that only legendary engrams actually need to be decrypted with Rahool (or whoever it'll be in D2). Green and blue engrams supposedly drop directly as gear without having to be decrypted, so the "hey I got an engram, back to the farm so I can level up" thing shouldn't really be much of an issue. You're going to want to decrypt every legendary engram you get quickly anyway so I don't see that being problematic either.

Well it says it respects restrictions on what you can equip. A Hunter can't equip a Titan chest ergo that part won't work. Also they went out of their way to mention a *weapon* being equipped on your other class as counting instead of something that's necessarily class specific.
It just seems like someone in a three man fireteam is always going to want to go and decrypt something after a strike. It sounds kind of half-assed to roll the level for engram but not the exact item when you pick it up. Because if it did the latter then you wouldn't have to worry about going to decrypt things right away at all.
I'm not saying it's not going to be better than the old system. I'm saying that there are obvious problems with it as they describe it and if you want to be efficient there is still going to be pointless and annoying busywork.
