I've collected 21 packages. I still have not received two of the weapons, and two of the armor pieces (and of course, any of the armor pieces on my other two characters). At this point, the majority (12/21) of the packages I've collected are duplicates. I'm 48-29, for a win percentage of 62%. I feel really bad for anyone that isn't hardcore that was hoping to get the armor set, because if I've already given up all hope of getting the complete set on all three characters, you know the grind is just too much. I like the token system, as it gives you the flexibility to choose which character you redeem them on, and when you want to redeem them. But I completely agree with you, hebbnh; they need to let you choose between weapons and armor again. By the way, why does the matchmaking take so long? It's absolutely ridiculous. Even when I play alone, it still takes at least a minute to find a match. I'm in NYC, I have low ping, there are tens of thousands of players I should be able to match with at any given time; there's no real explanation except that there's something messed up.

Can any of you answer my above questions? 1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. How many engrams you’ve earned. When you’ve received 10 engrams (200 tokens), you’ve completed the milestone. Your reward is an emblem. That’s it. If you’re expecting a piece of high-level gear for completing the milestone, prepare to be disappointed.

They learned from Overwatch. You'll notice the end-game grind is pretty much purely for cosmetic items, as opposed for good rolls on weapons and armor. That works if, ya know, the gameplay is actually good. Which it’s not. The PvP gameplay is terrible, abysmal, enough bad things can't be said about it. The PvE gameplay is great, except for the fact that they kneecapped it in a lot of ways in order to cater to PvP, which were pointless anyway.

I've done about 3.5 sessions so far. A session being enough games to do the three challenges (for the rep bundle) and get in enough games to get an engram. I have no clue how many games that is. Maybe 15 to 18? I'm probably 9-9 so far. So you are about 4x deeper into this than me. Seeing your lack of success makes me just want to give up lol

No, your prize at the end is an emblem. That’s it. Sorry, I meant emblem. But yeah...an emblem is even worse. So dozens of hours of playing, to get an emblem. Good lord, this is really stupid.

1. There is no Iron Banner vendor from what I see. So unlike before, where I knew if I grinded out hours and hours and was guaranteed IB armor....this is no such guarantee now?>
Saladin is the the vendor. The system is exactly how every other planet/moon vendor works: do stuff, get stuff... sometimes crucible/regular stuff... 5 IB tokens for a win, 2 for a loss. Redeem them at Saladin for your stuff
2. The only thing I can 'win' in the Iron Banner is tokens, which level me up to get engrams. And reputation bundles, which win me more engrams. But these engrams are just pure random.
You can win other stuff... Brad and I got absolutely gangcornholed last night 101 to 30(ish)... I got an exotic engram out of it
3. Not only are the engram prizes random, but the randomness ALSO includes regular destiny armor and weapons too, from the general prize pool. So odds are strong I will NOT get an Iron Banner armor piece when cashing in. Odds are slim and I need some luck.
Everything is random, yes... I'm having more luck with weaponsw: I got the pulse rifle 2x, fusion rifle 2x, grenade launcher 2x... armour wise: warlock bond
4. My main question.....I have completed three reputation bundles in two days (Two with the titan, one with the warlock). The Milestone thing says I am 50% of the way to getting something. Is this what you mean by completing a level? That would be ONE of the thirty levels needed to achieve a theoretical 50/50 chance of getting the equipment.
There are two milestones you can complete from Saladin: the daily and the season. The daily is what you get new every day and the season requires you to see him 10 times to rank up (think of a reward ranking up to level 10 of a faction) You can get IB stuff from every rank you get. So you could go hardcore and get to rank 100 in IB and get 100 packages to get stuff
The seasonal one is account based; so you can't get 10 ranks on your titan, 10 ranks on your warlock, and 10 ranks on your hunter for 3 rankup packages

Yes, every Iron Banner engram that you get from tokens has an IB armor piece or weapon. Most of the weapons are just so lackluster that it's easy to just assume it was a normal legendary that you could get in any other drop.

So one of those 285 pulse rifles with shitty perks that I deleted yesterday could have been an 'official' IB Pulse rifle?

IB weapons have an iron lord's name in the flavour text

The Fusion Rifle is the best PvP Fusion in the game. The Hand Cannon feels like it will become my go-to for PvE. The auto rifle is really nice in PvE as well. I have trouble distinguishing any of the 900 RPM SMG's apart, but on paper the IB one seems like the best one. The Grenade Launcher I've heard is the best of the Grenade Launchers. The Sidearm is the full auto archetype but is at least decent, might become the go-to if they nerf the 3 round bursts. I don't have the Scout or the Pulse, but the Pulse is the only other gun in the same archetype as the Lincoln Green, which is the only remotely useable Pulse in the game.

It's still a pulse, though, so YMMV.

IB pulse is okay, but it's a pulse. IB GL is okay, but it's a GL. IB FR is decent, but unless it's Merciless, no one uses a FR.
There's no IB sword, is there? That's a shame

Xur's hanging out in a big Tree in Watcher's Grave, Nessus...
But honestly....
Yea....
Don't rush....
Especially if you're a warlock.
Fighting Lion, Grenade Launcher @ 270 (265+5 Legendary Mod) for 29 Legendary Shards (even when you use it right, it's still not worth it... too much effort) Knucklehead Radar, Hunter Helmet @ 270 (265+5 Legendary Mod) for 23 Legendary Shards (3rd eye on everything, subclass neutral, excellent for PVP) Peacekeepers, Titan Boots @ 270 (265+5 Legendary Mod) for 23 Legendary Shards (use only if you like submachine guns (2 submachine guns too) and never have to reload) Wings of Sacred Dawn, Warlock Chest Armour@ 270 (265+5 Legendary Mod) for 23 Legendary Shards (I used it only for the MIDA air kills... been in the vault ever since)
yea.... 5 weeks in and we have a our first true "stinker"

Oh... and after finally hitting rank 10, I got a helmet (from the game reward that got me to rank 10) and the arms, the side arm, and an exotic bonbon that got me the Karstein gauntlets from rank 10 package,
then next game, I finally got to play on the Shores of Time map from Y1 (renamed to something else for y2) which me and another Y1 player won, simply by locking down B with a titan shield and a warlock healing rift on B and using MIDA.

Highlights from TW@Bungie www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/46397- PC deets and release deets - they found an exploit in the prestige raid, but if you use it, you'll get caught and probably given an ugly shader - teased some raid challenges - They acknowledged topics of discussion from broad to specific... and are digesting them - They acknowledged a video montage of my D2 Public event life story

Took me 19 engrams to get the full set of armor. Now 21 in I have all but 2 weapons (SMG and Grenade Launcher).
