Went 85-21 with QBB LSW today (but still lost because teammates were all negative and didn't help me win Demolition overtime). It's my favorite LMG as well, use it with Quickdraw and Laser Sight to fix it's weaknesses. Lightweight is a must to get around the map faster, and I personally use a Tactical Insertion as well. Flak Jacket needed of course, and the rest is up to personal preference (I have RPG as secondary and Fast Hands and Dexterity).

Interesting stuff about the LSW. I messed around a little with it, and didn't like it. Small clip, terrible recoil, weak damage....what am i missing here lol.

The LSW is a giant SMG. Treat it as such.
I am liking the HAMR more ever since I had a conversation with Marvel about it...

As Dumien said, basically treat the QBB as a more close-range oriented sibling... like what the FAD was for ARs in MW3 (except I like the QBB and hated the FAD).
Also, Dumien, what was that conversation about? I liked the HAMR before, but now prefer to either take the QBB for close or the MK48 for long instead of the HAMR for any situation...

I have been leaning more towards the MK lately, rather than the HAMR. The MK just has a bit more control of it's recoil.

Again, myself, I believe that each LMG has it's own role and you use the LMG that fits the role you want.
MK48 for what a traditional LMG wants. QBB for an SMG/LMG hybrid. LSAT for a slower AR with bigger mag (Jack of all Trades, but Master of None). HAMR for a QBB during the first 7 bullets and LSAT for the other bullets.

I was thinking of a LMG tactic to try for fun:
Hold a place (like a room) but let people know you are there. Use FJ instead of Ghost and no Silencer. The only hiding perk would be Cold Blooded. Many players tend to rush on you when they know where you are. I say LET THEM COME!

Come try to kill me" ...and the Thermal, Gripped, L86 just destroyed people without fail.

The hatemail must have been abundant, too. God forbid their ACRs and MP7s didn't work. :3

Inspired of this thread I decided to give LMGs a shot so I picked up MK48 today and after my first 154 kills I have 2.37 k/d. On Hijacked I got 17-0. That powerful slow shooter is amazing, like having a FAL with auto and 5 time more bullets. And the "here I am" tactic turned out pretty well. Many people seem to think SMGs are superiour but I don't agree, when I check my k/ds I have higher with AR and now LMGs. Like all previous CODs it's about playstyle. Fun evening so far!

Mk48 might be the one legitimate use for Rapid Fire in this game. It's like shooting a 100 round KAP-40 with Scar range. You should try it if you haven't.

Well shit. I played around with MK48 rapid fire laser and BIG AMMO extended clip and GOD DOES IT KICK ASS. Walk around corners, holding right trigger.

I personally really like the LSAT, but i haven't tried the others out (i have only played something like 12 hours online) but i have one big problem with it: i constantly get roflstomped up close by hipfiring smgs, maybe you lmgs guys can help of mitigate my problem.
My current setup is: -LSAT -primary gunfighter -quickdraw -fmj -stock -flak jacket -toughness -tactical mask -PDA x2

Ghost works while ADS walking with stock and while sprinting, which account for ~80 of the time when I'm using it, depending on the mode. Flak is better for hardpoint, dom, hq etc, but I like Ghost more for kc/ffa/tdm.

I like ghost for KC.
I prefer LW for everything else. That said, my LMG classes tend to use the Fast Hands/C4/Tac Insert combo (which goes with non TDM, FFA, KC, SnD gamemodes). I use them like the PP90M1 "relentless" class from MW3. They have Sustainable ammo and good ttk just like that class of olde. I am leaning away from the campier LMG roles and leaning towards the wallbreaker aspects of the gun class.
As a bonus....I get to feel like Rambo...except immortal.

Another setup I was recently trying wit success was:
LSAT: - Suppressor - ACOG (with the ranger drop reticle) - Stock
Executioner
Toughness Tac Mask Engineer
Perk 3 Greed
For whatever reason is seems like this setup results in very low recoil for the LSAT.

Blind eye? Cold blooded? The hell with that. Lightweight, Toughness, rush around like a madman.

Only LMG I used so far is the MK46. Did play around with rapid fire against some bots looked like a good setup. FMJ only found useful against air support , it shocking how good FMJ is at taking down warships. Setup used once stock was unlocked, stock/red dot. Found target finder (TF) more annoying over helpful. It also has 9% accuracy so maybe I need TF and to stop spraying at walls.

HAMR looks like the Scar-H. The reload animation looks very similiar to it too. That's because they're both variants of the same gun. The HAMR is just a SCAR H with a heavier barrel and a fancy system of switching from closed bolt to open bolt operation as the weapon heats up. This is why the rate of fire changes after 7 rounds. This allows the weapon to dissipate heat more efficiently when firing on fully automatic for extended periods of time.
