Personally, I have not had a problem with any COD ever. I played almost all of them until the next one came out and I enjoyed every one. AW, Ghosts, BO2, MW3, BO1, MW2. All good games. And if you really look at it, each game fixed the inherent "flaws" of the previous game and attempted to innovate by adding a new feature. And its been the same story every year. Everyone saying, "bring back what made the game fun for ME." I really have no expectations. I've enjoyed each game for the past few years. I've found ways to make each game fun for me and if they take something out that I liked, so be it. I'll find another way to make the game fun. Does the phrase "f... you last stand" mean anything to you?

Exo's are kind of a nice change of pace, this is definitely the one COD that I think has the biggest learning curve of any of them, but I find myself sort of missing the "old" COD. While you could still have a totally manic and crazy game in, say, MW2, the manic craziness of this iteration seems more Quake/Halo-ish, and I like COD precisely for the change of pace from the Quake/Halo/Unreal type FPS subgenre.
So if I had my druthers I'd hope BO3 dials back the crazy jumping/exo dodge stuff.
And yeah is anyone else already tired of the near future warfare setting?

Well said illram
We are working on like our 4th straight year of 'near future war', with BO3 coming out soon. I think it is enough
I will add this.
I don't think it's the exo jumping that is necessarily bad. The verticality elements are nice, how it opens up the game is nice, and the ability to move faster, flank better, is all good. The problem? it's HOW Sledgehammer implemented the exo system. Their take on it is bad on distinct two fronts. One, their exo jumping is bad. The 400mph initial exo boost and side strafe is stupid. Any bit of a bad connection environment, and this movement scheme just fails. It's just to jumpy. Some games got it right, like Destiny and especially TitanFall. SH's take is just like ADD gaming. The second flaw is their map design with this exo system. There are no lanes. There is no map control. The maps are to small and the spawns fail, especially in Domination. The end result is just a clusterFoxtrot of 1v1 jumpshooting battles. That isn't CoD. It feels like the old Quake or Unreal Tournament game. If i wanted that, i would go play it.
Hopefully BO3 fixes this. A verticality exo system should add 'some' elements of tactical play to the game, adding a bit of depth to enhance the CoD experience. The game itself shouldn't be simply taken over by the verticality/exo system, like AW did with theirs. The tail should not wag the dog.

Don't need no tanks. Gimme Exo-suits and battlemechs. I actually wouldn't mind battlemechs in place of tanks. Like, having a Goliath spawn in on each side of the map, one for each team (unless the other team manages to capture it, in which case...tough shit). I mean, Goliaths only take one guy with a Stinger to be taken out. And most players are way too lazy, incompetent, or selfish to even think of carrying some sort of launcher in the first place.

I have heard that only the boost ability will return (Dont quote me on that). And that weird suit he wears could be anything. Maybe hes a cyborg like solidier? Also I want machine pistols to return as a class. Nothing is really confirmed at this point. I am hoping for an advanced movement system (doesn't necessarily have to be like AW, but something different than just walking/running around would be nice).

heres an idea, have the exosuit as a scorestreak? like a low-mid level one
probably not a good idea because map design would have to be primarily ground based, rendering it not as useful. but it's something...

My friend said that same exact suggestion yesterday. And I told him that's a horrible idea.

They should make a CoD where David Hasselhoff is the bad guy and the objective of the story is to stop him from destroying the berlin wall.

I think exo-suits should stick with sledgehammer and be their "selling point" then we can have 2 years with no exo. And one year with i think that this would be a good approach

I think exo-suits should stick with sledgehammer and be their "selling point" then we can have 2 years with no exo. And one year with i think that this would be a good approach I've seen some solid polls on Twitter recently. Some with tens of thousands of people. Every poll is running 3 to 1, to 4 to 1.... against Exos. Not a single poll anywhere is showing people in favor of them. I don't ever recall seeing this much animosity towards an element in a game. At least since Death Streaks.

Well considering the plot of AW(Or so I've gleaned) is Lex Luther pretending to be Kevin Spacey trying to give the world omega AIDS, the David Hasselhoff plot seems tame by comparison.

Are you against having a fast(er) paced game? The only thing I find wrong with the maps is the size of them. They need to be bigger.
If you find yourself in those positions, then that's either your fault or the fault of your teammates.

What may or may not be your fault are the shit spawns, piss-poor weapon variety and balancing, terrible matchmaking and crippling baked in lag. On second thought, nah, gitgud, brah.

The problem with Advanced Warfare is the spawns and maps, not the exos. If every map was similar to Atlas Gorge, no one would be complaining about the exos. The maps are too small for them and compounded with the terrible spawns, the game is unpredictable and maps hard to control.
Advanced Warfare is the first Call of Duty where I have seen enemies spawn in front of me...in TDM. In previous games with fixed spawns (ex. Demolition), sure, but TDM?
Advanced Warfare has many flaws, but the exos are not intrinsically one of them. That said, the exos could be adjusted so that their movement is smoother and more consistent, but that's not a fundamental issue.

Agreed, although mw3 was probably the first game with "in your face" spawns.

This is true, but I never once saw someone spawn in front of me in TDM. This happens occasionally in AW, which is infinitely more often than it should occur.

I dunno.
I really liked BO2... I liked how... I dunno if this is the right term, but how simple it was... how easy it was. It wasn't complicated or felt like being overwhelmed with choices or anything like that. It was a fun game to play. I also really liked how they integrated regular maps with the DLC maps. I absolutely hated hated hayhayhayhayted how Ghosts separated them.
I mean, I know they have to push the franchise forward, and exosuits are zee wayve ov zee feucha.... but so long as they keep it simple and let me run around beasting people with a pick 10 system and a LMG... I suppose I'd be okay

I suppose I'd be okay I hear the people say exos are the future, but the reason I got into cod was because it was not all pew pew, jump and shoot the alienz bad guyz. The somewhat current reality and fun of arcade fps action is what made cod4 fun, the series continued to progress until people wanted to turn back the clock around mw3 and divided a crowd of people where some wanted the old style, and some wanted more progression and adaptation. In comes AW which adds the exos and is basically all but a different series of game from cod4 which the majority (2/3) in most cases do not like.

Exos are not popular.
Yes, there are some people who love it. And some people who are ok with them, but not how they are implemented with map sizes, spawns and other things. But for the most part, most people don't like them. AW has kind of killed CoD. Ghosts got it started, this game pretty much ended it.

Exos are popular. The only niggas that don't like them are the people that post, comment, etc. frequently on the internet. I haven't met a single person in real life that doesn't think AW is the best cod.
