A classic example of poor map design is CoD Ghosts, the map Warhawk. This was mostly a three lane map. So the initial concept was good, but it failed due to the three second floor rooms. Two with one entry, the third with mostly one entry (you could hear the metal clang on the other door). Three campish second floor rooms, with limited access. No matter what game mode you played (Dom, TDM, KC, etc..)..these three rooms became magnets for sniping douchebags and tent erecting aholes. So most every 6 v 6 game, became stalled out in with people lying prone up there, watching doors. Gameplay became a game of "Root out the campers". Sucked. No wonder people hated Ghosts.

Know what would be awesome? Sprint strafing. Drift0r, make it happen.
Seriously that's how these forums work right.

Warhawks B placement, combined with spawn points, made that a shit show. Nothing wrong with power positions on maps. All rooms DO NOT NEED 3 to 5 ways to enter.

If you make maps with one entry rooms, they aren't power positions. They are essentially just magnets for douchebaggery.
No FPS'er has ever had good gameplay with large pct's of it's players hiding in rooms, waiting for people to come in. FPS'ers just don't work well with that.

Compare Warhawk to Crossfire from mw1; if Warhawk had b placement on 1 side, it allows much more flanking on one side, but a direct route on the other. More entry ways into top sniping rooms and tighter corridors on the outskirts makes one map great and the other sub par. edit: having more than one entry point is key, but more than two makes any room feel vulnerable and thus not much of a power point.

sometimes but we dont tell anyone because then it turns into shitpost city It's ok, I can tell from the twinkle in Drift0r's eyes that my posts are responsible for the reworked melee system and for fixing their fire-rate rounding problems. I don't need it explicitly stated.

A classic example of poor map design is CoD Ghosts, the map Warhawk. Upper bakery and antiques were completely broken. A couple of users were actually mentioned by name, but none of you plebs that dont irc. Work blocks IRC and you guys only talk about dicks anyway.

"I spend too much on outdated weapons platforms" FTFY Outdated? Even with all the tech out there, there isn't a more reliable, less maintenance required, rifle you can buy. That is entirely debatable. Even if you're right, reliability and minimal maintenance doesn't make a rifle platform modern (You want a reliable rifle, there's nothing more reliable than a Mauser 98 bolt action), especially when that platform has as many variations as the AK which range from almost antique rifles to modernized versions that cost as much as a SCAR 17. Work blocks IRC and you guys only talk about dicks anyway. We do not

you guys only talk about dicks anyway. To be fair we only talk about dicks when there's nobody talking about important stuff on the IRC.
