Why not just use an SMG instead of the ARX? They get free steady aim, quickdraw, stalker, agility, exmags, plus rapid fire as an option over the ARs. ARX has free steady aim already. Still not smg level.

They do actually, I was just using M27 with TS a minute ago. The tracker sight itself is hard to get used to but you can use the irons on it no problem. The higher FoV is also strange lol.

If you're choosing between iron sights and rds/eotech at the same cost, I would pick rds/eotech 99% of the time.
Thermals look very nice on the lynx/vks, especially the hybrid for CQC/QS moments.
I don't remember if LMGs get tracker sight but that could be a very nice attachment if so, bringing ads time down to AR level before quickdraw.

The ARX just looks like a bad SMG to me. I haven't used it much though. The ARX is a great if you think of it as a shotgun. Highly recommended as a shotgun, for people that want more range then the actual shotguns. But don't EVER use it as a medium to long range gun. But Bulldog is still the best shotgun, if you stick to close-range encounters. Why not just use an SMG instead of the ARX? They get free steady aim, quickdraw, stalker, agility, exmags, plus rapid fire as an option over the ARs.

I have been trying the honeybadger with semiauto and I just don't see the appeal. I think I'll try the burst MRs next.

Am I nuts? I'm jumping in on PS4 tomorrow, and with the Honey Badger class granting me free OtG and DS and my ability to consistently go on decent killstreaks, this seems like a no-brainer. I don't plan on using tacticals, lethals, or a secondary, so I'm thinking that a class with OtG, DS, Ready Up, and Deadeye could be pretty solid for Kill Confirmed. I defer to you folks who have been playing for a while, though. What are your thoughts or suggestions? Other Ghosts tips would be appreciated as well. Good luck against the ps3 upgraders, I will be one of them .

Thanks for those plots, it makes the biggest difference. Gunkick does look very minimal, almost nonexistent.

Yeah, I'm not sure we even need to worry about GunKick: I even tried doctoring the numbers to ensure each weapon got the maximum kick on every shot and the plots still turned out just like this. I also looked for bugs but then found that there weren't any when I tested the Pecheneg from MW3. I've looked at gameplay of the MSBS and can definitely see the GunKick for myself. But, if my accuracy plot is, well, accurate, then attaching a Thermal sight - whether it eliminates GunKick or not - isn't going to help like it once did. Do you know how the MSBS gunkick plot scales with the viewkick plot? I could see thermal being very useful if it removes most of the overall horizontal recoil on it, assuming thermals still remove gunkick. Speaking of, is there anyway we can get a total recoil plot combining viewkick and gunkick for the MSBS?

How would gunkick work when looking through the thermal scope though? Would the scope bounce around the center of the screen?

If I understand this right, the MSBS has the most gunkick? If thermals remove gunkick, then the MSBS should see the biggest difference?

PC doesn't have dedicated servers either right? I'm thinking it has to do with getting the maniac as host.

So ARs with semiauto = MRs with ex mags. Am I missing some next level mechanics or should I continue to be underwhelmed?

I'd like to know what do you think about the ARX. It seems like a hybrid weapon where you got a burst riffle that can go full auto and a smg at cqb via the lasersight. I tried the steady aim perk and...it was good enough. Did you tried it ? The only problem is the move-firing penality. Maybe with Ready Up it can be neglicted. The ARX just looks like a bad SMG to me. I haven't used it much though.

That MTAR makes a lot of ARs look bad. It has the same 3hk range as the FAD. The ARX has a slightly further 3hk range but the MTAR's faster ads, smaller hip spread and higher min damage completely outweigh that small range difference imo. The only fullauto weapons that seem to compete with the MTAR are the accurate ARs and LMGs and maybe the SA-805 with it's far 3hk range. Am I missing something?

What's the movement speed of maniac?
|
|
|
Post by RageHulkSmash on Nov 12, 2013 0:50:59 GMT -5
I'm guessing it has to do with getting the maniac while you're host. There is probably a hidden damage multiplier to maniac that gets amplified and carried over permanently after death when you're host. We know the maniac gives a movement speed multiplier and you can see their movement speeds completely fucking up in random moments of both of those videos.

I know on MW3, they had that temporary spawn protection against killstreaks that reduced damage. If you were holding a ballistic vest and tried to knife someone who just spawned, you would get hit markers. This looks like a 360 only issue, because no one I know on ps3 has seen this. I'm guessing it has something to do with the netcode on 360, seeing as they still have player hosts rather than dedicated servers like on ps3. In Infinity Ward's defense, they did have to build this game on 5 separate consoles/pc under the same time constraints as the other games. I do hope next gen consoles are better though, but that seems unlikely. For once, it seems ps3 got the best version so far .

Oh look, it's MW3! I have a theory about the ammo problem- the moment when he loses all his spare ammo is the moment he actually dies (perhaps the game can't think fast enough to kill him on-screen but the ammo counter is sure fast enough): check out 2:13 in that first video and then watch 4:50. He was already dead, the game just didn't bother to tell him. But then again this is why I'm waiting until a free weekend (and semi-official ascendance of the anti-6GB patch to non-bannable status and FoV changer; I won't spend 60 to upgrade) to buy this game. The ammo glitch also happened in the second video towards the end but he didn't die afterwards. Is this an xbox only glitch? I haven't noticed it at all on ps3 so far. And I thought this game had dedicated servers? It feels like it on ps3, I haven't gotten kicked from games or migrated host yet.

Deadeye is weird. At first, there are some weapons that look amazing with it like the M27 IAR. But that's ignoring headshots and fighting enemies already damaged. The guns are also back to the sloped damage reduction vs range rather than discrete drops like in BO2. I think I may just stay away from this perk entirely because of the high cost and randomness to it.

Wow, I guess they didn't want to piss off retailers by releasing it at 12:01AM EST instead.
Good info, Pegasus. I didn't know the physical copies would have upgrade codes with them. I'm still annoyed that gamestop isn't doing a playstation upgrade plan in the US though.
