Ok scratch that. So how it works is if you have not completed the challenge to it's entirity (like say, you have 64 headshots), then on your first headshot next prestige you will be awarded the 10, 20, 40, 60 headshot challenges. But if you are completed the final branch (80 headshots), then you get nothing for headshots on your next prestige. I suppose this is how the game "catches up" your challenges after prestiging?

Okay, so mixed bag. You can still complete the challenges with single headshots, etc., and you'll get the XP. However, camo challenges will not advance. This appears to stop after you prestige for the first time after the patch. My friend who has not yet prestiged was able to grab a gun he hadn't used yet that prestige and he got all challenges (10, 20, 40, 60, 80 headshots) with one headshot, but I prestiged after the patch came out and I am getting diddly squat for headshots/longshots/etc. Really wish I prestiged before the patch -.- it's such a long grind to level 17 without this glitch.

I dont run into system hacks that much and when i do i have a dedicated class with hard wired to counter that shit. I would be more concerned about other killstreaks like bombing run which is just as bad if not worse than stealth bomber in mw3. I dont mind the score being raised since this cod seems to have the highest learning curve ive seen in a while. When someone gets in a lobby and goes 8-25 they should at least be able to get UAV's or other streaks to help the team which is why i kinda miss the support tree. At least it let bad players feel like they were making progress instead of becoming fodder. Support scorestreaks exist. The UAV, Care Package, and Sentry Gun can all be set as Support.

Basically the more diamond guns you have the faster your NEXT prestige goes... Maybe it is on purpose somehow and the only glitch is Royal camo unlocked by getting diamond the same gun 5 times or so.... ? But it might still be a reward for prestiging, otherwise you have to work on all guns from the same class separately... If there is no official statement from SHG I'd assume it works as designed... Or with minor glitches only... It can also be used to obtain Diamond camo without having to do some of the harder challenges. Just repeat the easier ones (i.e. 200 kills with no attachments) each prestige to add another tick to the diamond counter (which needs 7 ticks) - simply by obtaining ONE kill with no attachments. Basically, the first thing I do when I prestige is create all of my classes with overkill, 2 weapons, and zero perks. Get a kill with one gun (2 challenges completed, carbon fibre and gold), then switch to the other gun and do that again. Then switch to the next class and do it again. Note that I have already unlocked carbon fibre and gold on every gun, so it makes this a ridiculous amount of experience for me. And it is getting every gun 2 ticks closer to diamond each prestige...

Not going to lie, Kevin Spacey had a very strong influence on me purchasing this game. And I'm glad he did, because this is my favorite COD to date.
On the same note, I wasn't going to buy BO2 until I saw the TV spot with Robert Downey Jr in a jet.

Yup there seems to be a glitch right now where after you prestige, one kill or headshot or longshot or whatever will award you with the challenge completed again. I did this to unlock Royalty for assault rifles even though I only had one gun with diamond (the HBRa3) - it just took 6 prestiges to do so.

Low profile has become the most useless and overrated perk to me but I play lots of dom and hardpoint. 1) You'll find me at B firing an unsuppressed weapon the whole game. If I run low profile then what is the point of not running a suppressor and blast suppressor (stealth now costing 3 points)? I would argue that Low Profile and Blast Suppressor are infinitely more valuable than a suppressor. When you are in the process of flanking your enemy, you are not firing your weapon. The entire purpose of flanking is to hit them unexpectedly - which you do so no problem without a suppressor. It could be argued that Blast Suppressor is also not needed - only if you do not make use of exo movements. But basically, when it comes to stealth: Low Profile >> Blast Suppressor >>>>>>> Weapon Suppressor

Unlocked the Goliath today, went straight into some Hardcore Kill Confirmed and tried getting some long-range kills. Hitmarker city. So the minimum damage is certainly below 30.

Well he did analyze it with a 30 fps video. Something new I discovered: Damage for shotguns adds or removes a pellet per shot per variation. So for example the Man-O-War only fires 6 pellets per shot because of its -2 damage. That is great information, thanks!

For the core playlists, I think it can be universally accepted that the Obsidian Steed and Goliath are the two best weapons in the game. The HBRa3 Insanity and the AK-12 R.I.P. are good runner-ups. Everything else can be destroyed for XP. For the Hard core playlists, the HBRa3 Average Joe seems to have the longest 1HK range (>30 damage) of all the automatic weapons. I haven't unlocked the Goliath yet to test it, but I don't think that "+3 damage" pumps the minimum damage up to 30, so it would be useless. Any +damage weapon would actually be a detriment in Hard core unless it brings the minimum damage up to 30, so you are better off looking for weapons with +range and +firerate. If someone has the S-12 Whirlwind can they upload some gameplay footage of it so I can jerk off to it I've gotten it twice. That 2000 xp went a long way.

I remember people doing this all the time in COD4, mostly due to the Old School (higher jumping) game mode. It allowed them to get to some really cool spots - but damn was it tough as hell. I could never get the hang of it.

Does anyone know how much each +1 of damage gives you. I know when it shows a magazine ↓ that each one is -4 bullets because my AK12 RIP has -2 mags and 22 bullets. But the AK does 33 damage max and its a 4 shot kill minimum not counting headshots and the RIP has +1 damage but its still a 4 shot kill. It is not a set number or percentage change, it is a rough representation of how the weapon differs from it's base model. For some weapons it represents a difference in the minimum damage, for others it represents the maximum damage. Heck, for some it might even be representing body multipliers or penetration. It can even be their way of representing a change in Fire Rate, since that means the weapon can do more damage per second. It's a really stupid way of going about it, but it wouldn't be COD if they weren't dumb about the stats. +1 damage = "this gun will do a little bit more damage over time or over a range or up close or through a wall than the base model" +2 damage = "this gun will do a lot more damage over time or over a range or up close or through a wall than the base model" +3 damage = "this gun will do a heck of a lot more damage over time or over a range or up close or through a wall than the base model"
