Holy crap, check out the BO3 reddit right now, the ENTIRE FIRST PAGE is nothing but people losing their minds over SBMM, save for one post (out of 25). And that's after adding a sticky for SBMM to clean up the spam, lol GG, treyarch. It's stupid. A Vond tweet went out saying they made a small adjustment to matchmaking, and some clown made a Reddit post saying they've added SBMM into the game and his lobbies all went to shit. Everyone ran with this, so now it's pitchforks and torches. Of course, SBMM was already in the game, and I dunno about you, but I haven't noticed any differences today.

Unfortunately, humans like to see patterns where they don't exist. And a lot of people (maybe even some on this board, including me) will do shit in a bunch of matches and then go "This can't be my fault". This is about the time where they head off to Reddit to shitpost.

Again the COD community shows just how negative and toxic it is.

.....aaaand it's gone.
Supposedly.
Personally, I think nothing was ever changed to begin with, and they just staged the whole thing to watch Reddit go nuclear.

Why would they mess with something that wasn't broken?
It's pretty easy to interpret random statistical noise as significant, especially if you're already wearing a tinfoil hat.
As for why you get stuck with the scrubs - better players are partied up more regularly. Imagine this scenario: you're in a lobby with two good players in a party together, and 9 unpartied scrubs. If you get put on their team you'll win, otherwise you'll lose. With a random team distribution, you'll only be on their team 40% of the time, for a 0.67 W/L. Add a scrub to their party, and your W/L falls to 0.5. Now from the partied players' perspective, every player you add to the party reduces the chances of having another party on your team - meaning your chances of those slots being filled by the solo scrub increase.

Looks like Drift0r got the ranges wrong on his L-CAR video.
He says 4SK is 10m while 5SK is 19m. From the spreadsheet, the L-CAR is still doing 29 damage until 19m so that should still be a 4SK. Then it does 22 damage (5SK) out to 25m. I don't remember him making mistakes this consistently for the previous CoDs.

Oooh, I also forgot to toss out a prediction - in between 1-3 weeks there will be a patch that people will determine to have decreased or removed SBMM. This will have absolutely nothing to do with a large influx of players with a significantly lower average skill level than the current player base.
This exact same conversation about SBMM happens every year at the same time.

I still vote on having a word filter for SBMM.

"Friendship is magic" would be a better replacement.

Even then Friendship is Magic is a noun; it can refer to the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic franchise.

How about SBMM be filtered to Smash Brothers Melee?

Why don't we just call it what it is? Swipe based matchmaking is just Tinder.

3arc should add SBMM in. They should then lie about it and say that they removed it instead.

Hahaha Tinder is 10/10. I do like Smash Melee though cause I always used to read it as that.
On the topic of the team balancing thing. In my 3 hours of play on the PC free weekend (only playing TDM) I did notice that many lobbies had very skewed KDs. Like most games one team would have 4-5 positive KDs and the other team would have 1-2. Of course this could quite possibly be explained by what Hawk was saying on the previous page. I'm just providing some experience.
As for SBMM, *shrugs*

Just figured I'd bump this thread to inform anyone that didn't already know that Driftor did a video where he corrected any inaccuracies he didn't already correct himself on in previous videos.

The only ones I can think of that he missed was the long barrel on shotguns (leaving out that the extended range does 80% minimum base damage) and the buffed silencer for Kn-44. Any other corrections that he hasn't already covered would be extremely minor.
He covered all the major ones like the HVK and Dingo hipfire spread and the P-06 burst fire rate.

Rapid Fire.

The difference between 6.3% and 6.38% is extremely minor though. And the change to how it works on burst weapons isn't his mistake so much as it's the developers changing the stats. Plus his lack of recommending rapid fire for bolt snipers shows that he realized it's not actually a huge affect on those.

There are still a lot of people thinking Rapid Fire makes a huge difference on sniper rifles, including the Drakon. Even before the effect on burst weapons was changed, the values in his video were wrong and he forgot to mention some special cases.

He started off the video saying the VMP now was "normal" ADS speed. Which is true if "normal" refers to normal AR ADS speed.
