Disk space can be a concern too, I guess. With only $5 savings, maybe I'll still go with Disk then buy the expansion pack separately. Oh it is only a saving of $5? I wouldn't even bother then tbh. All this fuss in making gamers go with digital downloads and the pricing is still counterproductive to encourage people going that route to start with. |

Tried looking it up but they only have PS4 numbers:
Alpha was 6.7GB
Beta is 20GB according to PSN
Release will apparently be 40GB

Weird the whole EU/US thing - it's of some concern. No such division existed during the alpha.
So far, my Sony PS4 experience (in the face of XBL) has been faultless. Except when I tried out DC Universe Online I couldn't play my US buddies as we were on different (EU/US) servers.
I've never seen that before.
I hope to fuck that situation isn't the case on Destiny................

I hope to Foxtrot that situation isn't the case on Destiny................ I just asked this on the Bungie forum and, amazingly, seemed to get a sensible answer... The region selection is because the PS store codes are regionalised. So for you to be able to download the game, Bungie needs to know what region your PS account is to give you the correct code.
When you actually go to play the game, you'll be able to play with anyone from around the world like in the Alpha. |

I was thinking it might have been because Sony wanted the information to be able to be ready for the potential network load - I mean, potentially over 500K people downloading a 20gb file on the same day, and issues would be a PR nightmare. Or that they wanted to distribute slightly different builds to different regions to A/B test, but if you'll be able to play with players from the other region, I assume that's unlikely.

Okay so here's a question. You sign up for beta and register your platform and then get 3 download codes. Can you share those to get friends in the beta and if so do they only work for the platform you registered or can the 3 be different platforms?
Here's what I'm getting at. My bro's got a PS4 and preordered the game and all that jazz. I don't have a PS4... yet. But I'm planning to get one. Still if it would work maybe I could use a code on my PS3 to play the beta with my bro if he doesn't mind slumming it with me on last-gen. It doesn't sound to me like this will work, though...
