I keep getting energies though. I know... check_your_privledge_polo You can try your luck with public events. Sometimes you get a bonus award (this appears on your screen) after getting gold immediately after the event. I got 2 Ascendant Energies from taking out the Devil Walker in The Divide today. Also, check with the Postmaster for the first public gold event. Very, very rarely you will get upgrade materials (Ascendant Shard, Ascendant Energy, Motes of Lite and Strange Coins) from chests. I had an Ascendant Shard from a chest yesterday, also from The Divide. I've gotten motes from chests, but never AM. I have gotten them from engrams though. But yes, I grind the hellzout of the events in the Cosmodrome, regularily maxing out my vanguard marks by thursday/friday and I grind the events after maxing out just for the mats from the first gold and for the chance at mats. I know about the postmaster and all that.... the "problem" is, I don't get shards... I get AMats, Strange coins, or motes. I am very very tempted to break down some legendary guns though... I finally decided to rid myself of The Comedian which was maxed, but not to the last tier, and I got 6 AShards out of it (probably the only good thing it's ever done for me) |

I feel like shards are no longer appearing in post master packages. I know they used to, but since the DLC I have only gotten coins or motes.

Fine to me personally as Ascendant Materials become less important and VoG remains as a great source to farm them. Daily is an OK source as well. |

Still need shards for 33 light armor though. Can't start doing those solo areas in CsE until 30 and I needs to upgrade. Might have to try again for a VoG crew if the shards don't come quicker. heh Not that I don't want to run VoG... hell I'd still prefer to run VoG before CsE.

Now you are level 29, you should just LFG VoG normal. The entire run takes ~ 1 hour to finish, and if things don't go well (say you run into some shitty teammates), you don't have to finish the whole thing in one session. You should at least get ~10 shards/energy per run. You may also get VoG raid armor pieces, which you can considering dismantling right away because they maxed out at 30 light. Each piece will give you ~2-3 shards. Your first run might be rough, but things become much easier as you gain experience. By your third run, normal should feel easy enough. You should also be able to reach level 30+ then, setting you up for hard runs. |

I'm just annoyed because I am literally 3 shards from 30... then I can cheese up that opening chest in CsE, maybe the second if I'm feeling saucy..

Got it. Need to make some things dead. I bought some iron with my marks because I still >,> don't have Mars open. So now I just need more XP for my gloves and/or more helium for helmet and boots to get me up to 30. I'm only 6 light from 30 and with options... assuming I have the shards... which I'm not sure about.

Right. So I got a legendary engram from the Crucible and the Cryptarch decrypted it into The Truth. But it has 274/300 attack. Is this correct? It looks like how it would be before the attack value increase on weapons or were rocket launchers excluded? Still a great find. Got it after being awarded an Objectively Correct medal. PTFO!

Truth is and always will be an OKish buy. It would have been a great weapon had it not born as exotic. But because of "one exotic" policy (for a moment it feels like I am back to China ), Truth is forever stuck at the "OK" land. That said, I did buy it last week despite that I already have a fully upgraded one If on the other hand it is the exotic rocket launcher with "G" initial, you will instantly become envy of your fellow guardians... Sigh, the moral of the story is: even if you are a prince it can suck to be the middle child... |

Gjallahorn was the one I passed up but I only had one character then and was oblivious in maximising my earnings with Strange Coins with additional characters. I have seen it mentioned a s a requirement for LFG on Raid but I get by on Nightfall with machine guns easy enough. |

Apparently you get 25 points for killing a Titan or Hunter, and 75 points for killing a Warlock. Assists grant the same number of points, and deaths don't hurt your progress at all which is great. On average, you're looking at 200 - 250 kills + assists to get it done. It's not hard at all. You're guaranteed to be able to complete it, but it can take a lot longer or shorter depending on how good you are. |

Let's fireteam up and do some IB this weekend. I'll help you grind it and we can chat while we mess around. Plus now that we're both level 30 we shouldn't have to worry too much about the level issue and hell you got more good weapons for it than I do. I bet we can do even better than I did last IB. Just be ready to lose quite a lot at the start. Keep in mind loosing is okay. Get your bounties done and keep at it and we will win.

Bad Juju is a GOOD pulse rifle. You need it. Do the work, son. There, I fixed it. Don't let it being a pusle rifle turn you off. From what I've heard Bad Juju is now really good and a friend of my brothers (was level 30 before TDB) went on and on about it during a daily the three of us did together. (He carried us a tad, but it was fun. And my Hunter got the game finish pulse rifle because it was the final mission.) |
