Question: In the year end post, DeeJ wrote: Before we kick off, we should note that you should be on the lookout for some small stocking stuffers sometime after the Holidays have come and gone – a small token of our gratitude. Anyone get one yet? And was it good? It is due in the new year. Going to see a lot of Guardians hoping it will be a Gjallahorn. I'd be chuffed with just a void sniper rifle personally.

Prolly more like: *Poof!* 7 a shards and 3 coins... "Happy holidays!" Hey it's free so I wouldn't care. It's still better than a shader for me. I'd rather have some added vault space. Although if they lifted the cap to Destination Materials and Telemetries that would go some way. At least when the House of Wolves comes out I suspect everything will require Spinmetal leaves to upgrade and people will have farmed enough of that. But I wouldn't be surprised players will discard stacks of Spinmetal due to the limited space and then have to refarm for them when the DLC is out.

I'm guessing shader and/or emblem. Maybe a new skin for the sparrow or another stupid pointless ship. And something like the pumpkin head. Don't get your hopes up for anything useful.

Anyone find Shoot the Loot perk useful for Nightfall or the Raid? These are seen on green and blue rarity weapons and a primary scout rifle with this perk, for example, will allow you shoot ammo to resupply from a distance saving the need for a synthesis pack. And because it's a primary weapon, there is no ammo penalty when changing weapons.

Yeah honestly I could use all the shards and coins I can get now. heh
I had a shoot ammo perk in beta, but haven't had one in release. Seems like it would be of limited use. Generally if there's ammo on the ground it's not that hard to go get it. I can see it being handy in some specific cases if you want to hang back and snipe, and you happen to see some heavy ammo pop. But then at range I'm not sure how much ammo you'll see drop. It won't drop from other players killing if you aren't close. I assume it still drops for your kills, but there could be a range limit on that too.

Yeah I fought the Templar a little bit with some friends a few days ago and I can see it being handy because of all the death goo that spills when you kill Fanatics. I don't think I have ever felt the need in Nightfall as there are usually safe spots to wait for ammo to regenerate if necessary. I suppose it can be handy for boss fights but you would need a good attack value on a rare scout rifle because you don't want to be entering the menu screen. I'll give them a try when I get blue rare scout rifles with the perk from the Cryptarch.

I will say, it seems to me that Bungie may have raised attack on rares as a result of the new world order of attack and level caps. I don't know, but I have gotten a few rares lately that come pretty close to 300.

Still wait on that , I thought Xur is going to offer something extra but nope, just the regular stuff (unless you consider the new exotic armors/weapon as "small token of gratitude", which I don't think qualify).

It's Bungie's way of saying "Buy the DLC!" Because shafting vanilla players with no Weekly Heroic or Nightfall when the DLC is in rotation is not enough.

Is the Xur exotic for Warlocks any good this week? Starfire Protocol chest piece: 1) 1 more Fusion Grenade; 2) Carry more fusion rifle ammo; Solid piece, and more importantly, not Sun Breaker / Voidfang / Claw

Is the Xur exotic for Warlocks any good this week? You cannot have three grenades if this is what you are after. I'd look at how many Strange Coins you have and how many you can earn quickly in case Xur has stuff next week. Also, if you have the Heart of the Praxic Fire you might want to skip this. www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2r352t/xur_megathread_1215_1415/

And I'm not sure if this could stack with the boots buff. If your boots do this too, can you increase your carrying amount by +2? Thinking about this, I am confused on it now.

It's good to know that Starfire protocol does not make you carry 3 nades. That's not a completely bad thing, because now the final column is freed up. Touch of Flames is great to have.

IW, extra heavy ammo perks on two different items don't stack. I have the Armamentarium and raid boots on my Titan, and can still only max out at 7 rockets (8 if the launcher has field scout).

One note about this week's upgrade: Symbiote has very high stats roll: 120 Discipline maxed. The one I got from previous upgrade only has 101 maxed. Pondering whether I want to upgrade again just for that, but 2 exotic shards + 7000 XP + time to level up the helmet again just for 19 more Discipline is too big of a price to pay On a related note: I just realized that there is a very good reason why exotic armors have to be upgraded, because you need higher stats roll to go with you higher light level. There is still no reason for exotic weapons to require upgrade, other than force us to relevel the weapon again.

Thanks. Quick question if you don't mind. I noticed that when wearing my Crota raid boots, which give extra Heavy carrying capacity....my Hunger of Crota rocket launcher still has a max of six rockets. Are the boots not working? Or does the Hunger only carry a max of five?

After pondering about this for some time, I think that I'll go for it. Don't have a helmet on my Hunter that needs upgrade at the moment anyway, might as well take advantage of the window. Have been thinking about playing Bladedancer more and this will force me to do it. ES and Glimmers will come in at a decent rate. No need to grind for them either.

Note: by 7 for Gjallarhorn and 8 for Hezen, I mean with the "carry more heavy ammo" perk. BTW: comparison of the 5 rocket launchersUnfortunately it does not show the total amount of ammo each weapon can carry.

datto's saying this is the worst exotic launcher in the game and not to waste your time and hard earned currencies on Based on what I heard from my friends who have Dragon's Breath, Datto is a bit too harsh. He does have a very valid point, if you have Gjallarhorn or Truth (especially Gjallarhorn because both have solar damage) there is absolutely no hurry to consider purchasing this weapon if you don't have a lot of coins. Just let RNG drop it to you for free. I did purchase it because I am a collector and I have the coins to spend. Seems to me it is a good weapon to hit stationary bosses and wizards that have solar shields, since I don't have Gjallarhorn.

datto's saying this is the worst exotic launcher in the game and not to waste your time and hard earned currencies on Cost is relative to the amount of Strange Coins you have and usually earn in a set time. So I imagine he is considering players who are not rich in Strange Coins. Also, the one-equip rule means players like me will only purchase top gear. I'm fine with rarer gear not being the best as I've played with some in Borderlands 2 but there was no limit to the amount of the rarest items you can have. And some of the non-optimal gear was more fun for me and allowed me to play with more builds. I found Maya to be the most flexible character for this. "And she is the prettiest!"

I have the Dragon's Breath. I bought it, pretty much because....i didn't have it. That's about it.
I can't really say if it's good or bad. It's the same issue that comes up every time during these discussions. For 95% of what we do in this game (Strikes, Bounties, Eris Bounties, Public events, messing around, dailies, Weekly's, nightfalls, etc..)...ok, pretty much everything we do except for the last stages of the VoG and Crota.........pretty much all the rocket launchers are fine. Some might take an extra or two to get the job done, but on 99% of what we do, it's no big deal. There's usually always another rocket ammo lying around, or you just use your other guns and finish the job.
Again, other than the end of the Raids.....there's not a single person in this game who has ever said, "If only i would have had that Gjallorhorn, i could have finished that section"
One one of the days, i want to just do a fun test of all these launchers. Just for fun. Actually see what the differences are. I think i found the perfect testing spot for them. Had the perfect three ingredients: A good target that takes a lot of missiles (create differences between the RL's) , very easy to handle other enemies (so your testing doesn't get screwed up), and plenty of ammo drops sitting around, so you can refill for the testing.
