Best shaders for the Hunter? Might buy the cloaks off The Speaker when I reach 100 Motes of Light just to make him rich.

Q: what does a multi-colored enemy level mean? Yesterday I ran into some level 26 praetorians with my level 22 character on Venus Patrol, and none of my arsenal can make a dent to them. This makes sense because I was told that 4 levels above = 100% immunity. I was curious to see that these guys' level indicator of 26 are multicolored, does this mean that they are immune to me? I had that happen to me too; it sent me to scan a spot right in front of the entrance to the Vault of Glass, the Praetorians destroyed me repeatedly.

Another patrol mission to watch out for is scanning the tunnel of The Steppes in the Cosmodrome as the Hollowed Hive are level 18 and I have seen a few low level players die there.

I've been cherry picking my missions to avoid these, but mebbe I should start doing them again. I kind of like the idea of being sent to some dangerous spot for a scan. Like the first time I scanned the spot near the spider walker you encounter in Devil's Lair. That was kinda fun having to stand up on that pipe in clear view and dodge the rockets and stuff long enough to get the scan off.
Part of me would like to see areas with nearly unkillable enemies meant for stealth and kiting and careful navigation rather than actual combat as I also had a lot of fun exploring areas I clearly wasn't meant to go at level 8 during the beta. Now that nearly everything on patrol is killable it's different.

And for the record, that is bad effin' form on the part of the game. In visible range of where you first spawn in when you do your first patrol mission, as a dirty rotten noob, you can get killed by something 14/15/16 levels above you. That's just plain douchebagish on the part of Bungie right there. I'm all for surprise high level stuff, don't get me wrong. But not 30 seconds into the game. I'm still discovering cool stuff in the Cosmodrome, like a bunch of level 20 thralls, wizards, knights and a 24 ogre. But those were on the other side of the map. Not gawddamm 15 seconds from a spawn. Question: on the left hand side when I'm picking the destination, there was a side kinda uber mission where you get to do the Devil's lair raid but the mobs are level 20ish. When I did it, I assumed that it would pair me up with 2 other players like the first raid did. It did not. Do I have to preset up a fire team if I want get past the part where my Ghost has to get me past the tripmines?

Best shaders for the Hunter? db.destinytracker.com/characterPlug your character name in, choose your system, then try before you buy! Don't forget, there are some codes that are floating around that will give you some free ones... an all blue and all yellow and 2? others too. Get those codes, plug them into Bungie.net, and you'll get them mailed to you ingame to wear

Buuu to disabled speeder. Talk about adding artificial time sink into the game... I dunno..... I think it'd be awesome down the road I'd like to see a feature where mobs can damage it and you have to spend mats (ie: spinmetal) to repair it. But also, I'd like to see an upgrade to it where you can mount a minigun on it and kill mobs with it, or put a battering ram on it to run them over. But those things would again, cost mats and stuff and cause your speeder to go off balance (ie: your speeder's gun is on the right side, which causes the speeder to jerk to the left when firing... think of COD's gun kick but on a vehicle) But one of the things you can do is have your ghost repair it or when you get rid of it, it might "heal" itself but that takes a while to do. Or you can focus on elements of a speeder: fast, durability, or weapons and truely customize it.... hellz, even grind to throw on a cloaking device that will blur you right past the mobs unless you crash into something I think speeders is a very under utilized element of the game that will spice things up for sure. But as of right now, the speeders purpose is to get you to the next public event asap...

I meant buu to having no speeders on the new world. I like my speeder. I certainly agree that they are underutilized and could really do with some customization options and a greater place in gameplay. I really want some form of races too.

Back on track:
Question: Warlock Blink. Just unlocked it. So far, I can't effing stand it. Like... c.a.n.n.o.t.e.f.f.i.n.g.s.t.a.n.d.i.t. Which camp do you fall into?
Camp A: It's awesome that just takes some getting used to. Suck it up, Buttercup. Camp B: F%%k it drop it like a stinky turd from a dead dog's a$$; worst skill ever. Drop it and go back to the glide. Camp C: Very useful in PVP, so if you want to do that, see Camp A. Camp D: Very useful in PVE, so because you do that, see Camp A. Camp E: Because of my extensive COD experience, I hate anything related to "tactical loitering"

I have blink on my bladedancer, haven't unlocked it on Warlock yet. First of all, I love it for the cool factor, especially it goes well with the "stealth ninja" theme of my bladedancer Practically speaking: 1) it does take a bit to get used to, because the animation in first person feels a bit weird. I imagine it as a 3d version of slide; 2) If your main goal is to reach places, it is tricky to use, and I guess can't go as far as other jumps; 3) Its strength is in evading damage. Immediately teleport when your health bar is in the red zone can save you from imminent death. I frequently use slide for that purpose, but to do that you need to get into sprint motion first. Blink is significantly faster; Keep in mind you don't have to commit to the jump modifier. What I do is I use the normal jump when moving around, and Blink in combat. Just my 2 cents.

I just did 2 Strike Playlist Tiger... got 4 instead of 2 rewards at the end, didn't die in either of them. Usually I manage to suicide myself to get another one back up.... having a self revive comes in handy.
Gonna watch it more closely in other playmods...

Fantastic... Another scouting mission to be wary of is called, Like A Bunch Of Ants, that requires you to scout The Divide. The low level Fallen can pack a punch if you are new to the area and you may have two Vandals trying to snipe you with fusion rifles.

I didn't like glide either at first, but I got used to it and now I rather like it. It's a bit slow, but has good height and a decent amount of control. It's best if you use a control scheme, controller, or claw grip that lets you jump while aiming and turning because turning it on and off is very useful.
For height be sure to doubletap jump very quickly. You want as much vertical momentum as possible, because once you've slowed down glide won't speed you up. It merely slows your decent, (or the deceleration of your ascent if you're already going up).
It's pretty good for getting distance on a descent and preventing fall damage, but it doesn't last forever so keep an eye on that on long drops. I usually use it in short bursts tapping jump three times so I activate it but turn it off pretty quickly especially now that I have upgrades to give me a speed boost. Seems like it gets up to sprint speed faster than just activating sprint.

I usually just quick aim if my vertical momentum isn't what I wanted (because I was too slow to press) and jump again. Long drops, I usually press the jump shortly before landing, not to run out of the effect and take fall damage.

Yeah I would say my use of glide usually falls into a few categories:
Triple Tap: I tap jump three times, or rather I doubletap quickly then tap again after a brief pause. This gives me a quick boost of speed and height without hanging around in the air for an extended time. If jumping onto something specific the timing of the third tap is important, although you also have some air control and if you don't quite have the height sometimes you can turn glide back on as a correction. Generally these jumps are too quick and short for much correction, though. Although I mostly use this for navigation, (and fun) I also use them for defense, (primarily backwards or sideways), just to juke around quickly without leaving myself in the air and vulnerable too much.
Double Tap: This is the big jump. Double tap quickly to jump and activate glide then leave it on for the full or nearly full duration of the jump. I mostly use this for navigating long or high jumps often turning glide off at some point when no longer needed. Although I do also use it for defense, (again primarily backwards or to the side). The defensive use is something I do more in PvE to get me out of melee range when I get swarmed and if usually combined with shooting down or tossing a grenade under me. Also useful for setting up an AoE such as a rocket, grenade, or Voidwalker Super attack. I will also deactivate strategically or randomly to dodge attacks and juke and often reactivate it again before I hit the ground or even only deactivate it briefly just to juke. When doing so it's good to keep in mind that you fall faster than you glide, so dropping from a glide to dodge is more effective than halting a fall with glide.
Jump, pause... tap: Useful when you want some distance and a slow descent but don't really want to get much height, basically only using glide on the way down. Or as mentioned you can wait until just before you hit the ground and tap to activate. Don't wait too late or you'll still take damage, but you have to learn to judge that based on how fast you're falling. The faster the fall the sooner you need to activate.

If I need to raise one negative issue of playing 3 characters of 3 classes on a daily basis, it is the jump . Every time I switch I am consistently messing up the jumps for quite a while. Currently I suck the equal amount on all 3 classes (6 if you consider slightly different jump modifiers for different sub classes) To compare the 3 from a bad jumper: Titan seems to be the easiest to adapt; Warlock seems to be the most flexible; Hunter seems to have the highest jump height;

For Hunter I'm assuming that is after triple jump or extra height modifier because I found that pure double jump does not jump as high as pure glide, at least in my experience from lower level characters and beta.
I don't get too mixed up with Hunter because double jumping is quite different from Glide, but my titan's jetpack throws me off and I don't really know how to make the most effective use of it. So far I kinda treat it like a poor man's Glide and just go with it, but I've not put much time into my Titan as yet and far far too much time into my warlock. ;3
