Both effects give total +37% buff (960/702). First 4 rounds fired the same way.

In the variant list ASM1 Sweeper should be Damage +1, Fire Rate -1.

any idea whether this is a 3hk (one burst kill at max damage, 34+ damage)? i know ive landed all 3 for a kill before, but ive also been at melee distance and not got a kill from one burst... not sure whether other one burst kills had damages enemies or not. if this variant has one burst kill then its one of the better M-16 type weapons in this series. very fast ttk (seemingly, 20 damage at long range? 25 damage at long range?) at long ranges, which makes sniper rifles even more unnecessary than they already are.

Yup. What could be dangerous is a AE4 variant with +damage. If it increases that minimum damage from 30 to 34 - kaboom we have 3 SHK at all ranges. Any +firerate variants would probably be a great choice too. We'll have to see what they add - if they plan on adding DLC variants at all, that is.

Yeah, once you factor in the variants 99% of the guns become pointless imo.
Why would I want a 450 rpm 3-4HK AE4 when the AK12 RIP is a 4HK at all ranges @ 720 rpm and little recoil? The only thing the AE4 would have is the 3HK range, but at the rpm is that really competitive ?
At mid range the Obsidian Steed is still a 3HK >30m even after the "nerf". Why would I use anything else at mid range?
The ASM1 Competence (I don't have many variants) is a 3-5HK, has an actual 3HK range post-patch, and can fire @ 1200 rpm for the first 8 shots with Rapid Fire. The SAC3 is good, but the TTK is too inconsistent in my experience. The KF5 is OK (don't have the best variants yet) but you have to constantly reload to take advantage of the weapon. The MP11 Goliath is good and my most kills/highest K/D weapon., but the 4HK @ 900 rpm doesn't stack up against the ASM1 anymore.
So while I like playing around with the ACOG/Iron Sights MORS from time to time, and I just started trying to level up the Tac-19, I don't see how any of the other weapons compete with the above 3.

Found leaks of some of the AE4 variants, added to the main post: The Shocker looks decent for core gamemodes, as long as the long range damage does not drop below 25 (keeping it a 4HK), and provided that Fire Rate actually increase RoF and not just the overheat time. All three look useless in HC vs the default. We need something with +Fire Rate and -Handling/Range/Mobility. Actually, I'd prefer they didn't, because that would unbalance the game in HC. The default AE4 is already well balanced in HC. Nevermind.

Drift0r's initial review said his testing showed the Widowmaker dropped the RoF from 450 to 420. I guess that was an ass pull. Come to think of it, at 60 FPS how would he ever get 420 RPM as a measurement? Doesn't the rounding jump it from 450 to 400?

Especially with the range and damage figures being such a mysterious component of all of the variants, how can a person possibly know whether the Gigawatt above is going to being doing more damage or less damage at a particular distance?

The AK12 Hair Trigger variant also has the open iron sights from CoDGhosts.
Makes it one of the best AK variants imo, since you lose one handling for higher firerate and ghost sights.
