Its good. I don't like uplink. I love SnD (A- in my book) Can't wait to play FFA. Movement system is nice. Its no titanfall, but that is fine. I actually like the directional boost control. It feels like you are running a titan in Destiny. The game is an amalgam of Destiny, Titanfall, and CoD that somehow doesn't suck. I think it might be because they respect their source material and aren't cash grabbing like sledgehammer. You have the titanfall wallrunning. The destiny supers (even the golden gun lol). The CoD super tight engagements. The shotguns hurt me on an emotional level. I was expecting the 1st shotgun to be at least like the remmington (BO2). Nope. Gave up. I decided to try the Dingo. It ended up being a really good choice to level up. The M8 seems really good and I hope the other weapons stay in balance with it. This is more or less exactly what I was trying to say in regards to the movement with the "Destiny+" thing. You just said it much more eloquently than I could LOL.

Played SnD with Dumien for a few hours today and it was pretty fun. The more I played the beta, the more I like this game. I probably will consider getting this game through preorder or during launch week.

Jeebus H. Christ DJ Vunderhurr has already caved into YT heros bitching about the KRM. Not a good sign. Shotgun nerfs and the game isn't even out. Straight from the pony's mouth: KRMUp close damage increased. Should never cause a non-lethal hit within 250 units. Damage at a further distance has been reduced and can’t 1 hit kill as far out, even when ADS.So he buffed it in the range it was already a one hit kill anyways and in turn butchered it's already meager range. So in other words he's making it so any ding dong no matter how shit their aim is can get a 1HK within prick distance but punishes people who ADS at range. This is why people hate shotguns DJ.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did it during the PS4 beta too. Because the KRM went from somewhat decent to pretty bad, at least it felt that way. And knowing for a fact they made it suck makes sense to what I was experiencing later in the beta vs earlier in the beta. Vahn, stop listening to whiny crybabies who can't stand shotguns being usable past knifing range. It's a pump action, it should be good at further ranges.

I'm just worried that the skill floor drop with the KRM is going to turn players even more sour with shotguns.

"Haymaker
Fire rate has increased by about 10%. Should be noticeable. Should take roughly 2.25 seconds to empty a standard magazine."
Because people were complaining about the firerate and not the lack of damage.
Thermal RPK master race.

Yeah, it sounds like he misinterpreted people's complaints about the shotgun being inconsistent and decided to make it easier in close range but not get "lucky" 1hks at the tip of its range.
Really though at this point he would better off just making the damage drops step off instead of linear if he wanted consistency: Make it 100 damage up to 300 units, then 40 damage up to 450 units, then 30 up to 500 units, then 10 damage up to 650 units.
And that haymaker buff makes no sense. It needs two things. A recoil reduction and a close range damage buff.

At this point, the KRM's model should just be a spear.

In these past few CoD there's always a standout shotgun that overshadows the rest entirely (BLOPS1/SPAS, MW3/Striker, BLOPS2/KSG, Ghosts/BullDOZER, AW/SEGA Genesis, ect.) so hopefully one of the two shotgun not included in the beta is the standout shotgun(Looking at you slug 870 and semi-auto shotty). "Haymaker Fire rate has increased by about 10%. Should be noticeable. Should take roughly 2.25 seconds to empty a standard magazine." Because people were complaining about the firerate and not the lack of damage. Thermal RPK master race. Don't forget. Big ammo is totally what the stock ARX needed in AW.

is the remmington from BO2 too much to ask for? That gun sucked but at least I have a few fond memories with it.

I dunno, the KRM feels like an R870 clone to me with just tighter ADS spread which can make it harder to use.

PC nub here with questions... Anyone having luck getting the mouse sensitivity to feel right? I've never played COD on PC and only played a few shooters on PC in the first place like BF3 and 4 and Planetside 2, but this feels pretty bad. In the settings I turned acceleration to "0", which seemed to help. My mouse is a Logitech G300 st to 1000hz polling and 1000dpi, if that matters. I'm getting 100+ fps (although it's not so smooth), but I'm kinda confused by the fps being tied to sensitivity talk...is that not a thing anymore? I went for 144hz in the settings, is it possibly beneficial to lower that? I may be grasping at straws on things here, it's because I really want to play PC this time around and don't want to give up after a frustrating beta experience and join the "COD just sucks on PC" crowd. If there are any general tips a nub should know (like disabling acceleration), feel free to throw those in as I need educatin! Thanks bros Turn sensitivity up so that you do a 180 turn with 1 swipe. Can have acceleration on or off, you will learn either way. After that just throw a bunch of hours into it. Don't muck around with your settings after. Just keep playing and your brain will muck around with it's own settings and adapt.

And one thing that KRM "rework" confirmed is something I suspected all along: that the KRM had less max damage range than the 870 (250 compared to 300).
If they just increased the max damage range to 300 or 350 and moved the linear drop so it doesn't go to its minimum damage until 450 or 500 it would be so much more usable even with a suppressor. Currently the suppressed KRM is pretty much only usable on Combine.
Speaking of the suppressor, I've been finding that using suppressor, long barrel, and fast mags works alright with the haymaker. Not great, but the suppressor doesn't seem to hurt at all. If the haymaker just had less recoil and did 25 damage close range, then this setup would be great.

Good reviews so far. I was especially waiting on Mal's and Witty's thoughts. Thanks!!! I initially was going to download the XB1 beta for this weekend, but after reading all the above reviews (and watching some YouTube videos, etc..) ...I've decided not to. The reviews have tempted me. Everyone seems to be saying it's better than AW. It actually looks pretty decent (despite the non-stop running around the maps) But right now, I haven't read enough to get me back from my self imposed exile. It just seems more of the same, with now Destiny supers involved. Enjoying everyone's thoughts. Keep them coming! I am pretty much all on board for Halo this fall. Destiny's Taken release in September? Right now, I am not feeling it. I simply don't miss the game's incessant pushing to collect loot on a weekly timetable, which for an anal-compulsive person like me, can be a life crusher. Looking back, I am quite annoyed at myself for getting hooked on that stuff to begin with. I just don't think it's healthy for me (which is sad, because I did enjoy many aspects of the game) I'll go ahead and say this: As somebody who swore off CoD after MW3, this game might actually bring me back into the fold. I can't comment too much on weapon/perk/specialist balance since I've only played a few hours (and that stuff can be fixed later on), but the movement, gunplay, etc, just feels right somehow. Everything was really natural and fluid feeling IMO, even with the boost jumping and wall running and whatnot. Actually it didn't feel all that much different from Destiny to me. A little faster and the wallrunning does add a different dimension, so "Destiny+" maybe if that makes any sense, where it seems like AW was more like "Destiny+++++" from what I've seen and read. The maps did seem a bit clusterFoxtroty with people running everywhere and spawns flipping constantly, but I guess that's what happens when you play KC solo, it's kind of to be expected. Hopefully I'll be able to play a bit more on Sunday. Not sure if I'll pick this up or not, but it's looking like I'll give it a shot as it's been pretty fun. Maybe not at launch though, depends how much Halo 5 and Destiny stuff I have left to mess around with. Speaking of which...not sure if you saw the Bungie weekly update yesterday, but they announced some more changes that should lessen the loot grind. They're doing a lot to make it less of a "I have to get this done with 3 characters, then I have to get this done with 3 characters, then..." from the sound of things. More account-based stuff instead of character-based, with the new mark system, daily missions, and heroic strikes. Witty put up a good recap on the Destiny board. thanks

Movement in the game is rock solid. Wall running isn't a gimmick and not over the top. This is not advanced warfare. This game feels like a boots on the ground call of duty.
Drop shot nerf returns (DOH!) but the added movement makes up for the loss. Once they bring the riot shield (fingers crossed), the game meta will be right up my alley. I hope they tone down the special damage against streaks.

Wall running mechanics is solid, I just wish that they design the maps to have more routes. Do not expect that to happen though because after all this is not Titanfall.

Is there a combat record like black ops 1 in bo3? I've only seen two conflicting statements on that.

lmao, what is the damage? Like, 18 or 15? It is actually incapable of one shotting anywhere within it's range. So in other words its a gun with all of the disadvantages of a shotgun without the TTK advantages of one. b3arc's crowing achievement in weapon balance.

I was asking that because Marvel said the max and min damage were the same. I don't know if he was being sarcastic or not, but I assumed he wasn't.

Overall an excellent Beta. More stuff needs to be buffed than nerfed, TBH.
Nerf: Black Hat, obviously. It could be removed, since EMP grenades and the BlackCell exist.
Rejack needs to go. Just give Nomad a new ability that doesn't create awkward pauses in gunfights.
Flinch on all weapons needs to be heavily reduced or removed altogether.
RK5 needs a slight nerf to range or fire rate.
Scythe and Tempest should take longer to earn and have less ammo.
Buff:
Shotguns. They're a joke. The KRM is a coin toss, and the Haymaker is just a fully automatic Executioner. Swap all their stats with Stopping Power'd MW2 SPAS and AA-12, keep the Haymaker's magazine size, it's not hard to do.
SMGs need to be buffed to post-patch Razorback's level of usefulness.
LMGs, they feel so sluggish compared to Black Ops 2, a game that took LMGs in the right direction.
MR6 is an airsoft pistol.
LOLOLOLOL Ante Up. Replace it with Black Ops 2's Hardline, swap tiers with Afterburner. Perks are fine other than that.

Vonderhaar would rather die than make it. Black Hat is fine, but it commandeering streaks is not. Simply remove that and we're good. And, yes, Ante Up is a bad joke.
