I'm not sure what constitutes SGA but:
Reciprocal Runes that are not picked up by Guardians go to the Postmaster despite their white rarity status.
Green class items that are not picked up by Guardians go to the Postmaster despite their green rarity status. When approaching a boundary change, such as The Divide to Rocketyard, travel slowly so matchmaking is in your favour. This is handy to try and prevent soloing a Taken champion as much as possible. Take your year 1 Gjallarhorn. The boundary change is the overlap, usually a path, between two zones.
Patrols now reward Glimmer. These can reward from 250 for standard x kills, to 500 for a VIP kill. The Steppes is popular for VIP patrols, which lead to either Mothyards or, more likely, The Divide. On top of that The Divide may have VIP kill orders available, so fast easy Glimmer there as they always lead to The Breach.
A 'secret' Patrol is given to players who spend enough time doing Patrols and these reward Strange Coins upon completion on top of the 500 Glimmer and faction rep gains.
If you need to kill Graysis, try and do it on Shattered Coast instead of Ishtar Cliffs. Just mind a Taken lieutenant will be in the Servitor building so kill it dead yesss.
Addendum:
Actually if Graysis spawns near the Vex sacrifice part right on the edge of the cliff you can spam rockets with relative ease. It's when she spawns on the Vex side where I see the new characters get owned and there's me with my Helm of Saint-14 casually killing everything in sight. Speaking of which, the black bubble of doom from the Taken do not penetrate the Ward of Dawn and Graysis appears not to charge near me even if I'm relatively close, so a Helm of Saint-14 will be handy for popping a synth.
If you are alone in The Divide, check the daily events and see if you can time getting the Taken champion to spawn when The Walker drops in. The Walker will attack him. If necessary take one shot to activate the public event, and you have five minutes left to kill the Taken and it afterwards.

SGA: Armsday order deadline is tonight (same as Xur leaving time). Get your orders in!
Max your order even if you already have the weapons and/or don't care about them. At the very least, you can dismantle the weapon for 5 marks, not bad for 2500 glimmer.

When using ammo synth, wear your Year 1 raid boots, then after synthing switch back to Year 2 boots. You'll create full ammo and won't lose anything when switching boots.
Year 1 more heavy ammo perk is better than the Year 2 version.

Gjallar is still pretty good in patrol indeed! Good info on the boots, question though malgato . The better perk, what do you mean by that? A or B? A. year 1 is better because it works for both rockets and LMG B. Year 1 gives you 7 rockets, while year 2 boots only give you 7-x rockets?

I need to test this.

If you like Crucible enough and plan to get on the Crucible side of weekly eventually, you should know that at this point "DONT BOTHER" is probably the best action: www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3muxo5/why_bungie_needs_to_reevaluate_the_crucible_quest/While the quest line is long, the bigger problem is that the weekly grinding to NF tier rewards takes way too much time. They should make it such that an average Crucible player can get there in under 2-3 hours. I will still play through the quest line as a sense of achievement, eventually. However, I just don't have that much time to get to the weekly rewards. I would rather spend my PvP time on Halo 5 and BLOP3, which have 60FPS, better netcode, SBMM and visible rankings.

Our group just got through raid, and everybody has reached 300+ light. Pegasus Actual did something really smart, he saved his exotic engrams until after reaching 300+ and then turned them in, and he got 3 310 pieces! I just tried that on exotic engrams purchased from Xur, also getting 310 pieces! (there are only 2 possibilities: 290 or 310). So: 1) if you are close to 300, save you engrams. I can go even so far as saying don't bother turn in any exotic engrams until you reach 300+, just horde them; 2) On Xur's day, buy exotic engrams;

As marco already mentioned in another thread, Mayhem Clash is a great way to get you The Last Word "renowned" part of the Chaperone quest done: www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3myhme/play_mayhem_clash_as_an_efficient_way_of/Also: heavy drops more often in Mayhem Clash, so might be a good place for sword kills as well. Keep in mind that Mayhem Clash is the weekly featured playlist and may go away at the next weekly reset, so if you plan to do the above, hurry up.

So this reddit post really helped me with Fear's Embrace. After you spawn the Echo, just stand in that little closed off tunnel you came in from and burn him down (works quickly if you have good, powerful weapons).

Not gonna lie, I got brutalized by that mission on my solo attempt. 80 wipes, more than 1300 kills! Finally Dumien saved me from that death trap. Thoroughly enjoyed it though, that's why I did not mind dying that many times.

I'm stuck on the boss fight on Fear's Embrace. Even when I get back to the tunnel, it just delays zee rayping. bradman and I got him down to a 1/3 before we wiped... And we're both 39+ above the recommended Light level. Annoyed because this has been the only mission I couldn't solo when attempting :<

Chilling in the tunnel did the trick for me, headshots with my raid sniper whenever he poked his head, and just peak the corners to get a leg up on the goblins and hit a blight or two with my scout rifle. Every once in a while I'd get mister shielded minotaur in there, just had to be mindful of that and shoot his shielder before giving him a good swording. I tried being a man a few times and not using the tunnel but you just get overwhelmed. It's probably doable to play manly till he's under a half or under a quarter, but I think you pretty much have to retreat to the tunnel and land some big shots before the great cornholing finds you.

That missions felt to me like bungie saying:
So you want to cheese missions? Here is a mission to cheese! Good luck. All in all I am glad with the uncheesable boss fights (also has to do with no more icebreaker and BH I guess).
That fight is a bitch to solo though! I didn't even try :')

In the last 10ish attempts of my 80, I can get the boss down to the last health checkpoint. Can't quite clear all the adds though. When Dumien jumped on to help me, he went straight to the boss in that phase ignoring the adds, and sword Echo's ass to death. I probably should have done that.

The titan seems to have the easiest time on that boss. I did it with sunbreaker, but I can also see defender w/ blessing having a decent time. For warlock I had help...so I can't really give my experience for it solo... I think that sunsinger would probably be best. Nightstalker was rough. I used sealed ahamkara w/ max strength and vanish to finally get somewhere by running laps around the circle stopping only to shoot blights and shoot at the tunnels. Even then... it took me upwards of 15 tries.

Posted this in weekly discussion thread, probably belong here since they apply across all weeks:
Xur recommendation:
1) If exotic armor engrams are on sale: stock them up until you have enough to get all of your characters a 310 piece for that armor slot; 2) always keep a healthy level of Three Of Coins in stock. The exact quantity is decided by how many ultras (story mission bosses, strike mission bosses, Raid bosses, Tier 3 Court of Oryx bosses, and Taken champions) you think you'll kill for the next week; 3) DO NOT buy armor offerings at 290 light, unless you earn more coins than you can spend, or a piece that you really want to use immediately; 4) If exotic weapon is on sale: only buy it if you want to use it immediately;

I am working on a guide for quests, intended to unravel the dependencies as well as recommend the optimal paths of completing them. Meanwhile, this guide is reasonably good: www.gamersheroes.com/game-guides/destiny-the-taken-king-guide-quest-guide/It does miss quite a few dependencies as well as quests (e.g.: The Road to King's Fall), but it is the most complete I can find so far.

If you have a shopping list for marks, add Bad Juju to the top of it, because this weapon is now top tier.
PvE: gel really well with raid weapons. Injure enemies with your special and then switch back Bad Juju for clean up, then take advantage of Bad Juju's brief damage buff to do more damage, rinse and repeat. No need to reload.
PvP: Bad Juju is now one of the strongest Crucible weapons in the game. Fast fire rate, full auto, hip fire bonus, reload & damage buff from each kill, too good...
