Thanks marvel! Interesting they buffed the mx garand fire rate slightly. And cutting the kuda 3hk in half? I barely ever got 3hk with the Kuda before anyways don't see why it needed a nerf. Oh well glad they didn't go too crazy with the nerfs.

No they're not. Treyarch doesn't know balance if it rubbed its balls on their faces. They're only making stupid reaction patches to those who cry too much or the YouTube guys. A gun shouldn't have to be patched three or four times. Shit should be done by around the start of summer, at least for nerfs. After that, they can look at rebalancing and buff what's needed. This back and forth nonsense makes them look retarded. Just like when the Bizon was buffed, then reversed right away back in Ghosts.

The amount of buffs/nerfs have nothing to do with if a game is overall balanced. 1) Vesper had to be dealt with. It's the only glaring "OP" gun that was in the game. So OP that at the last MLG tournament - they agreed not to use it. They did this to prevent that tournament from being everyone running around with Vesper (or everyone having to spend a ban on the Vesper). The result? I saw about 8-10 different guns being used. Which is basically unheard of for pro level tournaments. Vesper was the problem child; and it was dealt with accordingly. 2) I don't know one FPS where the majority think the game is properly balanced. It's not an easy thing to do; and it gets worse when everyone has an opinion on gun balance (and are entitled enough to think their opinion should be the most important one.) The closest game I've ever played to a perfectly balances FPS is BO2 after all the buffs/nerfs/patches were finished. You could pick up any gun in any class of weapons and slay with it. Imo, BO3 is getting very close to BO2 territory. It's even getting to the point where picking a best gun in each class is getting hard because the guns serve different roles (evidence of this is once again MLG Orlando where over half the SMGs (all but the Weevil and Vesper) and over half the ARs were used). Gun selection changed based on map, game mode, and player role.... That's a very healthy FPS when no gun is a clear cut best anymore.

Rate of Fire Drastic dropoffs to Damage over Distance (something pretty unique to gun balance vs. non-COD titles) Recoil Other lesser things like movement speed
I feel these things definitely matter in a decent enough amount of situations to be worthy of studying the gun stats.
But strategy, experience, and ability do outclass the actual weapon you're using (I'm assuming this is the point you're making). Just not all the time.

im just remarking on how it took them nearly a decade to balance a set of guns that work almost exactly the same across the board in reality if a gun manages to outclass another that has slightly different fire rate or recoil, it doesnt matter because the gameplay with either will be virtually identical. youre losing nothing but a viewmodel. Well they have to change it up with each version. Hit detection, netcode, and now even firerates change with each game.
