mmacola, I can confirm your results are good. But, uh, there is something seriously wrong with pellet spreads and how they appear in game. I was trying to replicate stuff like the shoot a guy and see how many pellets missed tests that lead us to believe the naked Spas and Model kill in 3 pellets. I had times where I shoot the guy, he doesn't die, i see literally one pellet on the wall. I just don't feel this is an accurate way to test. Doing 1 pellet per shot testing, I found the max damage for the 1887 is unchanged at 30. The max Spas damage is now 30 instead of 25. Did this by shooting turning off health regeneration. For the Spas, I kept full health and shot the guy 3 times, 3 hitmarkers. Then went threw the process of tossing 10 stuns at him, and he died on the 10th. 3x30 = 90, + 10 stuns. For the Model 1887, I used Damage and put on half health. Hit one pellet, threw 8 stuns. 42 points with Damage = 30 without. This feel more in line with how the shotuns acutally perform. The Model sure as hell is not 2/8 pellet kill up close with Damage, let's toss that out. If anyone can prove this theory people have about more than 1 pellet connecting in one shot somehow giving the damage a multiplier, go ahead. I'll go with my test results for now. Model - 30/20 - unchanged in "buff" Spas - 30/14 - Max and min damage increased, but overall nerf from the 12 pellet Spas. Wtf? That's seriously disappointing about the pump shotties. And all this time I was leveling the models, I thought it got an upgrade -.-

What really bothers me is I'm constantly getting 2-3 bars at home on mw3 but I was consistently getting 3-4 bars on mw2. When I take my ps3 to my friends place and play online together (2 ps3s connected to the same router), I'm getting much better results. I definitely notice a big difference between his place and mine.
I've already tried port forwarding and dmz mode but they only change my nat from strict to open and doesn't feel like it's affecting ingame performance at all. My router doesn't have any QoS settings to mess with either.
Is this something I can't do anything about? Or am I missing something critical?

Don't you have to be using your primary to actually have the melee proficiency activated? So using secondaries it doesn't matter anyway? You could use specialist.

The shotguns are complete trash compared to pp90 and most other smgs. That's all it really comes down to.

I was just wondering how the rounding worked with that lol. When the damage glitch was rampant, I was theorycrafting which weapons it would benefit the most and didn't know how a 24 damage weapon worked with it.
Bro, the FAD is leet. It's my highest automatic AR kd weapon lol. Silencer, RDS, SoH, QD, Stalker and SA make it so fun to use lol.

I've been playing the model all day and it's been weird. It can be the best weapon in the game or the worst weapon depending on lag. Don't ever try it if you notice heavy lag because it'll shorten your real-life lifespan dramatically. I got a moab with it as well when I wasn't lagging much.
I haven't gotten damage on it yet though, that might make the gun for me.

So the FAD deals 30-24 damage. Hollow point increases damage by 40%. That would put the FAD at 42-33.6 damage. So is it 3 shot kill at all ranges or does it round down to 33 damage and make it 4 shot kill at max range?

I'm still getting hit markers against half health players though.

What's the patch number on the xbox right now? Ps3 is 1.4.384.3 right now.

Could it be that the model's pellets penetrate, leading to miss-guided information?

I've been knifed off tactical insertions so many times - why can't I do it back? It's the killstreak protection, not knife protection, it will only happen if you are using a killstreak (care package marker, juggernaught, ballistic vests, IMS, sam turret, ETC.) Its the same thing that protects you from an osprey gunner and UAVs right after you spawn. LOL. Fail programming.

Ghandi posted saying the shotgun damage numbers are the same across 360 and pc. So either he's telling the truth and the model is acting very weird or he's not telling the truth and the pc model deals less damage than the 360 model. P.S. The easiest way i found to test spread is against the brick walls in seatown. They make those pellet marks huge so it's easy to compare hipfire vs ads spread. I would do this but I'm on ps3

Here's a post from Ghandi "Apologies but I forgot who asked this question. The fixing of Akimbo fire rate on PC will go live tomorrow at 11am PST. The shotguns have the same values as the console versions. Cheers, G IH A IN ID II" www.callofduty.com/thread/100584619?start=2715&tstart=0Looks like you guys are getting it tomorrow (Feb 2).

Was this recently added in the latest patch? I tested on ps3 and found no change in firerate with the spas or ksg. I did private match splitscreen testing and shot spas w/ and w/out grip at the same time and they both fired at the same rate. Same with ksg. Also, I only noticed the increased reload time with the ksg and not on the spas.
So either ps3 doesn't have this glitch in yet or it never did.

That cancel is pretty substantial. Thanks for the tip. Now if only I can master this button rhythm in actual combat lol.

That's interesting. You didn't have melee proficiency or specialist when you knifed it by chance, did you?

So here's a list of the new shotguns as I understand them:
USAS Overall: No change. Has built in emags glitch now.
KSG12 Overall: No change Has built in emags glitch now.
Spas12 Overall: Nerfed Slightly increased max damage but lost emags glitch
AA12 Overall: Nerfed Lost emags glitch.
Striker Overall: Nerfed Lost emags glitch.
Model1887 Overall: Buffed Increased max damage (never benefited from emags glitch).
Is there anything else I'm missing?
The only actual buff I see is the model. I'm not sure how it compares to pre-patch fully loaded spas, which had inconsistency issues. I love using shotguns so this patch is looking very depressing.

That's what the youtube guy is saying, xbox and pc have different damage numbers for shotguns. No surprise there since pc got the emags fix way before consoles.
Maybe it's IW's way of beta testing? They even tested how buffed ksg and usas worked with emags glitch on ps3 for a short while lol.

Any chance you can add a specialist row to the shotgun spreadsheet for both damage and range?

It always bugged me how mp akimbos or pp90 were just as good, if not, better than shotguns. Without emags glitch, I'll probably stop using shotguns entirely.

I used to be an acr guy, but I recently converted over. However, I don't like using any sight attachments on the g36c because it tricks me into thinking the accuracy is better than it really is. I mainly used emags with kick on my way to gold.

They didn't really screw anything up. They just decided to release the shotgun hotfix before we got TU8 patch. In a day or two, the emags glitch will be gone.

Just nerf the damage and firerate so hard that you'll wish for the CZ75 full auto back. Lol! Nah I think nerfing the akimbo hip spread to mw2/BO levels would be plenty enough.

I like your name. The chance of a gun dropping is inversely proportional to how badly you need it. The worse a gun or it's attachments make it the more likely it is to drop. I.e killing someone with a Thermal PM9 as your first kill = certain to drop. Killing someone with a headshot last bullet carrying a silenced ACR = no dice. Truth.

7) L86 LSW w/Grip+Thermal Perks: SoH (nice to have, not necessary), Quick Draw (nice to have, not necessary), Marksman (almost must have) Range: excel at mid-long range Additional notes: use it for overwatch sniping to take advantage of lazer-like accuracy Marksman is pretty useless with thermal. I use stalker or sit rep instead. Edit: Someone else got to it before me!
