Well, in the competitive games I saw the TAR, Famas and ACR were used most. UMP was seen as a Public match gun as far as I remember. (and I NEVER saw the ump RF in competitive games! we are talking about the MTAR-X RF here!) Even of a non-RF ump the recoil was to unpredictable, and the TAR outclassed it in allot of ways IMHO. It is true that the Scar was not used much in there, but still in allot of firefights the Scar wins the fight of the UMP.
Other than that, the UMP RF was complete garbage IMHO, even though it had VERY impressive damage/ROF on paper. I think (hope) it will be the same for the TAR in ghosts
But anyhow, the statistics we have now are not sufficiënt to point the OP gun out IMHO. Although the min damage of 25 looks tempting. The FAD (ghosts) is a very comparable gun to the MW2 TAR from the info we have now, and I can see it trumping the MTAR-X in ghosts. As it has a higher ROF when not using RF (on the MTAR-x). It might be very comparable to the MW2 Mtar vs UMP situation, in which case, I will go for the FAD every day and night. Also, dont forget about aim assist ranges!
(The MW2 ACR might be a better example than the Scar, as the ACR looks far from OP on paper, but was considered one of the top 3 guns in the game (if not THE best gun))
EDIT: I would be very interesting in the effect of RF on: hipfire, range and max/min damage aswell. Again, I really apreciate all the work you guys put into it! Thnx!

Also, do you have any indication of the burst delays? I hope both AR and pistol have large burst delays. As a 2 HK on a 3 burst gun and a 3 HK on a 4 burst pistol sounds kinda strong to me!
Are they in line with the BO2 'b23r'(very short delay) or more in line the the swats big delay?

UMP with suppressor in MW2 was the best. 3 bullet kill infinite range, Marathon, Cold Blooded, Ninja - no SP needed. Flankers's Paradise. Nothing better than running up behind three baby-monitor-wielding huddlers, again and again and again....

no akimbro PDW doe We're lucky they're not akimbo PDW, bro. A single one is effective, 2 bursts at medium range and it's over, even without the long range aiming assist lacking. Burst possibility being added to the marksman riffles is a big problem. A MAJOR problem. It's a stupid idea. By the way, the SVU is 2HK at any range BUT it's starting at 0.20 ttk. Better in long range. Thermal vision or silencers on marksman riffles could possibly counter their huge muzzle flash for the long range targets. I hope it's not possible using modded controllers with the MR. EDIT: the Riot shield is the same, no ?

Wait, what? Snipers have 98 flat damage and can have a damage BOOST with a chrome barrel attachment? Am I reading that right? OHK anywhere, at any range - at the penalty of 'increased kick' (which doesn't matter, if it's a guaranteed OHK..)

Hopefully just changes body multipliers, but I think bolt actions should be OSK anywhere anyways

What made you think shotguns are good? According to corpus, all weapon damages start deteriorating immediately. And you've seen the MTS in practice. Shotguns are acceptable at best.

Oh that is interesting, my mistake then. Well I guess that just means the Tac-12 is looking even better if it also has this added ability. I'd still rather hipfire though.

Question, does the marksman rifles, when burst configuration is applied, get a delay between bursts? Does the burst itself have a higher rate of fire than it's semi counterpart? 400 RPM = 600 RPM or something burst? Related question: I am assuming there is no Chicom-type(zero delay between bursts) semi/burst gun in Ghosts, correct?

I never said this. I haven't done any damage testing beyond shooting a few pistols and snipers. Corpus said that.

I just realized that silencer has a much more significant penalty now that damage starts to drop off immediately.

Shotgun damage drop off occurs IMMEDIATELY for all shotguns and their maximum range is about as far as the R870. The layout of a lot of the stages don't seem very shotgun friendly, I personally dont think they will be particularly useful in this game. ^

Well I guess that explains the "Point Blank" accolade and the R5's advantage.
Does the steepness of the drop vary from gun to gun or class to class?
Alex- I referring to all guns, not simply shotguns.

Sorry for the confusion. Shotguns drop off immediately yes, other guns do not. HOWEVER there is a glitch that makes guns do a stupidly high amount of damage with a very quick drop off. I have seen an assault rifle do 145 damage in a single shot. We dont know why this is happening...its very strange.

Does Rapid Fire reduce max/min damage values on any guns? Probably not in an IW game but it's still good to know

It would be strange considering all things (history, engine, fairness), but perhaps test to see if bullets can pierce multiple body parts?
