Speaking of public events. These are really cool. There is something badass about seeing players ride in from all corners of the map just to team up for a hard fought victory. There is a public event that is possible to solo as I got really lucky once... The one where you have to transmit while waves of enemies attack you. The key is tostay around the beacon and try to survive. As long as you are around the beacon you will gain points. 100 are needed for gold and the event lasts 3 minutes. You need to stay on the beacon for half of the time and you can still win. Heh, sounds like King of the Hill from Unreal/Gears. Played it once yesterday. It's pretty fun though. I actually did that last night, the beacon thing. That said, this was the most interesting thing to happen last night

sssshhh. shhhhh.
Embrace the MMO. Embrace the questing. The mind-numbing guilt that comes from not playing. The separation anxiety. Feel the warmth of the online companionship. The impromptu dance parties. The midnight raids that are way past your bed time but you just have to because you need that legendary loot.
sshhhhhh....
Become one with the counter-intuitive shop systems. The currency that you trade for that currency that trades for that other currency that you need for that sweet armor but oh wait you needed the previous currency for that faction to like you more so you can buy their armor that you've been wanting for like two months since it was released in that expansion that you realized you bought way too late.
Its ok...shhhh
Learn the beauties of trading posts and open markets where you feel like every item you put in has way more effort/sentimental value than any single item you have ever sold in a yard sale. Feel the anger that comes from not getting that 10% item drop from that rare-spawning enemy 2 hours in to farming it only for your buddy to get it on his first try.
Partake of the cup, my child. Drink up.
And you will be filled.

The impromptu dance parties. The midnight raids that are way past your bed time but you just have to because you need that legendary loot. LOL... I wasn't being negative up there with my video. I was actually trying to be complimentary. I found it funny. Getting done with a quest, back at the base trying to get my debit card/vault thing to work, and suddenly, a dance party broke out of nowhere. It was all very weird and funny (I only recorded the end). Especially the weird person who kept running circles around the dance group for well over three minutes. I want to smoke what he has. I laughed pretty hard at this. So much so, that I had to record it. Maybe all of you have seen this and it's old stuff, but it was new for me. btw, my vault thing doesn't work. I wanted to smash it with my gun, but you can't use guns at the tower. That sucks. I also got to level 6 last night, but why can't I get into the crucible to shoot some real people, with my inferior guns? (from the sounds of it, I am going to get crushed in MP as people like Witty all have OP guns now) I had fun doing some of the missions, but some were difficult doing solo, especially on Hard mode. And starting all over, after dying right towards the end? Repeating another 15 to 20 minutes? UGHHHHAGHHHH!!! It's been a long time since I have had to go through ordeals like that. I haven't done a CoD/Halo/any game solo campaign mode in quite some time. It's 2014. Why have redo's still? Hasn't gaming moved past that?

You can save the 2250 on the vehicle by finding 5 golden chests in the Cosmodrome, though the color is random. One is near the beginning of one of the first few missions sitting up about eye level clear as day. I think it's generally the first loot chest you even find and was featured in preview videos of the game as well. The next is at the Array. Just play the mission until you get to the wizard you're supposed to kill. When you're in the area where respawning is restricted there are two large rooms that serve as arenas for the boss fight. In the second room there is an upper level on one side. Up there next to a light is a golden chest. Next on your way to the coast you ride your speeder thingy down the river, be watching for caves on the left. Inside one is another golden chest. When you get to the coast get to the water and head left with the ocean on your right and a cliff on the left. Stay down by the water and keep going until you find a golden chest on your left. The last one is at the end of Devil's Lair. Get to the boss fight with the giant orb and head to the lower level. (You don't have to jump down the middle there are stairs down on the right and if you need an even safer way go left and through a doorway into a dark room with busted windows and there's a back stairway down there.) On the lower level on the right hand side is the final chest. You're pretty safe from the boss himself down here so you don't have to beat him before you go for it, just watch out for all his little friends everywhere and there are normally a few down there as well. If anybody has any trouble finding them hit me up and I'll try to help or google it and watch some vids. Or if you see me in game I'll take you if I'm not busy. I like exploring. BTW Don't stop at just those. There are TONS of normal loot crates as well. Check rooftops, boats, caves, buildings, ect... And if there are higher level enemies in a spot, look around for a chest. For example just in front of the array is sort of a little road with a cave and a hill in front of it. There's usually two level 7 enemies there that are easy, but inside there are level 11's and usually a captain in a doughnut shaped cave which also has a back entrance up closer to the Array entrance. Inside here where the enemies are there's a very dark ledge with a regular chest on it. I missed it many times. Be sure to check every cave, and always behind the rocks. I've found some in caves that look like nothing but respawn areas. And have fun. ;3 Thanks for sharing! I only have 2 of 5 and was wondering what they are for. I have yet to spend the 2250 glimmer on the vehicle, looks like I can save that for other stuff

Yeah I saw qnotice about something at 2pm PDT but I will check out my time zone because I am sure I am in BST, and the notice said GMT. Wish they got rid of that.
Solo'd The Last Array like a boss. Really could do with a good shotgun though....

It's actually PDT right now. -0700 off GMT. If it is PM, add 1200 to get military time. (Except: 12:00AM = 0000 military time and 12:00 PM = 1200 military time) For example, this post was made at ~9:00AM PDT

Over at Bungie.net clan page, Hawk started a thread talking about clan tag lines. Clan mates: please chime in . At this point we can either talk about it in this thread, or on the forum over there: www.bungie.net/en/Clan/Forum/135557Hawk proposed "Grinding for glimmer". IMHO we should maintain Den's signature, with Destiny focused slight modification, say "You are my bro, guardian". While we are at it, let's also discuss clan name. I'll start with my 2 cents first, how about "Band of Den bros"

Anyone discovered Grottos immediately after the Refinery? Looks like this part of the map should have been cornered off because the enemies are not killable. Just means they're too high level. It looks like Bungie put limits on missions for the beta but left the map pretty much open. But it fits as the map is open right from the start. You can take a level 1 character and run off into level 5 and level 7 areas with no barriers other than the enemies aren't killable and will pwn you. I think I understand them making high level enemies resistant and immune to damage to keep players on the content designed for the, but honestly, I wish they hadn't done that. Sure, maybe I would barely be able to hurt an enemy many levels higher than me, but if I want to spend a solid half hour whittling away at his health just for lolz why not let me? That's one thing I loved doing back in Everquest days. If you got a group together that knew what they were doing you could go hunt way over your level in zones where one wrong step would get you turned into a bloody smear. Last night I joined a strike team and we ran off to the Array to dick around with a high level spawn guarding a chest. They figured out we could push him off the edge with our shrikes and we did that a couple times until we got an ogre to spawn. He was much tougher to move, but we played with him for about a half hour just for lulz. Somehow he was taking a small amount of damage, though I don't know what we could have done was hurting him. Might have been ramming him, or one of the higher level guys maybe was only being 99% resisted. Or maybe his own attacks were hitting him with splash somehow. I really don't know. Eventually we nudged him off the edge too and he died. ;3 Good times. We also did the toughest event I've ever done and I died so many times. Of course I was a level 4 hanging out with level 8's (my Wizard is 8, but Titan not there yet). heh It leveled me up to 5 though. BTW My first time through Devil's Lair we almost killed the devil spider tank thing and nearly had it, then my brother and the random guy matched with us both had to leave. I was stubborn and didn't give up so my scout rifle and I went to work. It took a stupid long time to damage each leg with the scout rifle, but did work. I moved up closer bit by bit so I could use grenades and finally so I could rush in and use my LMG on the core a couple times, but I soloed it, and kept going. Managed to make it to the end and solo the boss as well as get my last golden chest for my wizard. Unlike the tank, the boss wasn't bad for scout rifle. I found the left side with the tunnel provided great cover. Really the only issue in either fight was running out of ammo, so I'd periodically have to kill off the reinforcements and then go run collect their ammo drops. heh Only did it on normal, though. Doubt I could have soloed that on hard, and doubt I could have soloed the big fight before the laser grid either. That ones tougher than the boss. I need to get back there and use a seed. ;3 On my Titan I've been soloing story missions on hard. Mostly no prob, but does anybody else have trouble with that one to kill the damn wizard? It's all those hive guys that surround and melee you. I hate them! You can't kill them before they get to you and there's too many to dodge them all. I wind up having to get on top of something. The big dark room where you first see them kinda sucks, but if you stop midway and get on top of something you can clear out the guys the shoot then make a break for it. Later at the boss fight I handle the first wave okay, but the next few waves are a pain unless I just get up on a box and keep jumping to stay out of reach. I hate those things. Maybe now that I have my super it won't be so bad. A decent shotgun my a help too.

The best strategy for the walker is to chill up on the roof right when you enter and only come down for ammo. He can't hit you with the red laser and the blue plasma doesn't hit you if you move slightly left or right behind the junk on the roof. I've had people leave and had to take it down solo. Pretty easy using that strategy. Also for grenades just double jump (glide rocket whatever) and Chuck it at a 45° angle. I can usually hit it from there,
And the servitor just avoid being close and watch the fallen spawning in. He's easier IMO than the walker.

You can get real close to him and still be untouchable by heading to the 'alley' on its left side. I have only done this while there are others with me so I don't know how viable it will be for solo play. I get a small amount of ammo regeneration so I usually just wait for that to materialise.

Yeah that's what I did for the walker at first, then I found places to move up a bit closer behind cover so I could rush in and use my LMG when the core was exposed because I was getting tired of how long it was taking with my rifle. Ammo farming wasn't terribly difficult, though riskier than staying on the roof and had to lure the other enemies close enough to loot a couple times. But I played around with it and tried lots of things, even went inside the building on the left at one point and tried fighting up close at another, which might actually work, but is very very risky due to the grenades and the rear cannon... tonally not worth it unless just wanting to do it for whateves. I also liked being closer to use my wizard super as the range is limited. (Did it again with my bro last night on my Titan and goofed around more. I actually jetpacked over him and dropped my super on it's head, and somehow managed to get away before it killed me. That was fun. Mostly same thing though. Shoot leg, dodge blue stuff/red rocket, repeat until core exposed and shoot it, then pick a new leg.
Servitor was way easier. Just got some cover and picked off his buddies until he's alone then headglitch him and shoot the eye until they respawn. When he teleports up in my face I ran away then crept up and tossed a grenade for his trouble. Neither fight is really all that hard if you don't rush in, they just take a while to chip away at the huge healthbars. And with the tank you gotta learn it's patterns. Now I kinda want to try facing off with it and just dodging it's attacks rather than using distance and cover. I wonder if that's doable.

I don't know how doable dodging its attacks (rather than using cover) is. I think you could probably dodge its attacks, but would have issues moving around in the open with getting ambushed by a group of the other enemies. Even the Vandal that snipes from the top of the building on the right can do a good amount of damage to you if he spawns without you noticing.

Yeah you'd definitely have to kill them off then watch for respawns and it's certainly not the best way to do it. I'm just curious to find out if I could do it. Seems like a fun challenge.
