Have you hit level 2 engram decryption? I ask because, during the alpha/beta, I got some blue once I'd got up there. Before then it was a poor way to get kit. I haven't even made level 1 yet in the release version. Worth considering. I'm currently at engram level 5. Pretty sure I'm almost at 6.

So I tried. I promise you I tried. I really did. It takes alot to really get me pissed off at something. Crucible done did it. I love Destiny. Not as a whole. One part of it is a fantastic game in the vein of Diablo and Borderlands. This is the PvE game. The PvP game is not only inferior to many other pvp games in the same genre, but the PvE player is forced into Crucible in order to get good weapons. So, we all know how engrams work, yes? Get a rare engram and you get a chance at a legendary/rare/uncommon. Get a legendary engram and you get a chance at exotic/legendary/rare. I've only pulled 2 legendaries and one exotic. My friends have pulled equal amounts or less. Want to know where those legendaries came from? losing games in crucible. Not winning. Losing. In fact, the legendaries came from my worst games...where I scored at the bottom of my team. That is utter garbage. I don't want to be rewarded for doing poorly...and I certianly shouldn't be incentivized to play without the need for getting better because "hey I might get an exotic weapon even if I don't try." That is actually bad game design. I see amazing players get no reward. Bungie is just afraid that people won't populate the pvp servers so they make the best way to get rare PvE weapons a party favor for that birthday party you never wanted to attend. Agreed. I've only played 3-4 hours of PvP, but the only legendary I've seen awarded was given to a player with a 0.5 K/D on a losing team. I don't necessarily believe that players should have to "git gud" to earn rewards, but it's mighty frustrating when I put up a 23-5 game and get a common rifle while the guy who went 3-18 (and single-handedly lost the game for us) gets two rares.

So have several criteria on who gets what. Or x games played?

Confirmed: Dumien is a Destiny Pro.
I don't know if Bungie has upped the ante on PvE events as it appears to be more generous with rewards than I remember - Vanguard Marks, Ascendant Energy (no idea what that does) etc.

Binge gaming king Dumien is the true "vanguard" for bros of this board. Got questions? If he does not have the answer, then probably nobody does Regarding stats: I say dont bother for now because Bungie has lots of dials and they are busy watching playing pattens and adjusting from time to time. One of their goals? Get PvE people into PvP and vice versa, and in game currency (glimmer, marks, etc) and loot drop rate will be used to nudge people around.

If it's true that there's a higher chance to get blues/purples from doing poorly in crucible then Foxtrot it i'm throwing every game I'd be shocked if that were actually the case, but it sure feels like it. I have terrible luck when it comes to loot in video games, though; might just be me.

It sounded like you might get an extra reward for "underdog" situations where you take down a player who is doing well. If that's the case then it would be true that you might see more rewards in games where your whole team is doing poorly, because that means more enemies are doing well and giving you an underdog opportunity.
If you're whole team is doing well and the enemy team is all doing poorly then there probably aren't many such opportunities.
Having said that, if it works that way it is not based on team scores but individual situations. You wouldn't necessarily benefit from just throwing a game, because while you're feeding opponents you are also missing opportunities for kills and that opportunity cost probably outweighs the benefits of you alone throwing the game. It sounds like the best situation, lootwise, would be to play against a very good team with very poor teammates who are feeding the enemies while you try to do well and get kills.
I don't know that it works that way, or what rewards you get for what, but it sounded like they did want to reward you for those "underdog" situations and that it was based on individuals rather than simply how well your team is doing.

It would be great if you can let us know how it goes. I myself dont plan to intentionally throw games, as bad performances will just happen abundantly without me even trying For bros who are so good at PvP and dont know how to do badly, try use UP weapons like Hand Cannon or go melee only

Well, I gave team deathmatch a try, and had a better experience there. Still ran into one or two guys crouching around corners with shotguns or fusion rifles, but it was much less of an issue. Now all I have to do is figure out how to best play a Defender Titan in PvP.

Are people crouching round corners with shotguns because of their shit range? Tried them in PvE and they were only a OHK on minor enemies in very short range and I would expect better performance from them in PvE game modes.

Yeah, and it's an easy kill on anyone coming around that corner. Also, with the higher TTK, at times the shotgun or fusion users can close the gap and drop you before you can finish them off with a long-range weapon.

Just played a stack of 'control' rounds with 3 friends. Had a real blast. I wasn't very good, kdr varied from 0.4 to 1.6 but came 2nd in more than half the matches by just capping. 4000 exp a round + the chance at a reward. It's not to be sniffed at.

You get a shield for killing someone with melee, then orbs for any subsequent melee kills while the shield is up. I've played a good amount of crucible yesterday with a full team and I'd have to say the rewards are fairly random. It might veer a bit towards the bad players, but the only time I've seen a legendary engram given was to hawk who was doing pretty well in that particular match.

It's great. Although they balanced it in crucible where if it gets directly hit by certain supers (nova, fist) it immediately dissipates.

If you guys haven't tried Salvage yet, I highly recommend doing so while you still have a chance. It's 3v3 on the smaller maps (no Bastion or First Light vehicle nonsense ftw) and plays like a mix of Hardpoint and Demolition. The action is constant, and there's enough of a strategic element to make victories feel really satisfying. My friends and I have had a blast with it all weekend.

Nice to see you in the morning at the tower, though I am a little "disappointed" that you are "only" at level 28. Grind harder and get to 30 already! The flaming helmet from Nightfall looks very sweet, I want one in UTexas Orange. Go Longhorns!

Want exotic but don't want to just rely on luck? Go for exotic bounties, either PvP: or PvE

The rewards for PvP exotic bounty is a weapon more suited for PvE (I think, as Hand Cannon is more of a PvE weapon than PvP), and vice versa (Auto Rifle is more of a PvP weapon than PvE).
Coincidence? My guess is that this is yet another way Bungie is deploying to push players across the boundaries.

I have no idea of where to get the bounty as I can't spend much time with my console. The above info are from the following Twitter stream: twitter.com/destinytrack . Check out the comment section of the tweets to look for more details of how to get these bounties.

Looks like I spoke too soon. Spent the evening in the Crucible with a couple of Denbros, and we saw a steady stream of shotty and fusion users all night. We were all pretty frustrated, and again I am left wondering why I would want to PvP.

Shotguns have too high of damage and fusion rifles use ammo so slowly they can be used 100% of the time. Really hope they change this at some point

Would there be an issue if only auto rifles were best pony like most CODs?
I tried the shotguns during the Beta and they sucked for me but I wouldn't be surprised if shotguns are popular because of the emphasis on mobility and a good way to get round some of the relatively high TTK. Also, not tried Crucible with sniper rifles but I imagine if they only OHK at the head then that direct players to use a shotgun or a fusion rifle, in addition to the sight attachments making them a bit more awkward to use perhaps (would like to see a sniper rifle with a red dot sight, ACOG, and iron sights).
